THE PROJECT 10 PAN SUPPORT THREAD!!

Postby metisse1 on Fri Apr 22, 2011 5:24 am

Hey lotta and claudenz! How are you? Thank you so so much for straightening myself (and don't be scared to continue doing that if I ever fail!). the thing is, my friend in the US has ordered a LOT from my request, she's so sweet and patient from me! I still do research what I buy, but I think that now, I'm done with makeup for the year! I've actually stopped asking her new things to buy until I completely finish some of my stash and get her packages!
I know I've spent a lot and my mom told me that recently, so now, I'm going to calm down and really treat myself with what I have! I've used a lot the new products I've received and I really feel that everytime I use them, I make full use of them and don't hop on to other products!

I finished recently 2 products! YES, my Jubilee lipstick is finally out and I'm so so happy but at the same time, it was my HG lipstick! I won't buy it again because other lipsticks in my collection will replace it! Unexpectedly, I also finished my Jordana lipgloss I received back in November. I wasn't too fan of the texture, smell nor color but still used it! That makes me 7 products this month and I noticed that in all my collection, a majority of eyeshadows/lipglosses/lipsticks are already half full or have a huge dent! Even my Lovejoy blush (NARS) which is very pigmented and that I have received for Christmas has already a dent! I'm nearly at the end of my tinted moiturizer (but since it's a squeeze tube, I still feel it's going to last and last!), my Maybelline Falsies mascara is already dried out! I have 7 products to go for this month, but I think I won't buy as much in May than this month. Perhaps not even at all! I'm happy with what I have so far! So here's the last buggers I need to finish this month :
1)Earth Therapeutics foot balm ( less than 1/2 left)
2/Monistat chafing gel (10 uses left)
3/Maybelline Color Scentsational gloss in "Watermelon Punch" (a good month left!)
4/MARK Get a Tint Tinted Moisturizer (it looks as though I'm finishing it soon but these squeeze tubes are so tricky!)
5/MARK Get Pinched Creme blush in "Spicy" (1/2 left! use it too as a lip tint!)
6/Sisley Eau Du Soir body lotion (less than 1/3 left but it's a squeeze tube!)
7/Elizabeth Arden Beauty 10mL (half left, can finish it before beginning of new month!)

Good luck to everyone and sorry if I seem desperate or have disappointed some of you!

lotta wrote:Hi girls, congraz for finishing your products!!!!

@claudenz: happy you found a perfect bronzer for your skintype. And I really do like your plan to finish up 5-6 products an than buy one! Keep up your amazing work!!!!

I guess we really need to remember the sense of p10P, haha using up 10 products (or 6 or whatever) and than buy something new.
it really means downsizing the make up collection in a certain way. And by including all the beauty related stuff its not impossible to use up enough ( of course it always depends on the size of our collections)

@metisse1: glad you finished up some products. Thats amazing!!!! hope you'll be done with the mac jubilee soon. I can feel your pain :).
Thanks for sharing your shopping list and i can totally understand buying some things (UDPP, your HG hairproducts, concealer, lipbalm, etc..) BUT 4 eyeshadow, 8 Blushes, 5 Lipliners and 6 lipsticks - that seems like a victim of all the sales going on
Oh Gosh! Thats gonna take FOREVER to finish up so much. I totally agree with claudenz, you should really use every single item you bought and enjoy it... dont worry about it to much.
I read in your list you bought the coconut oil for your hair (dry ends i guess)-does it work well for you?
Since i used up my kerastase fluid for the dry ends, i dont have anything and did already alot of research for a good product for moisturizing my dry ends. I read it some forum about coconut oil, but wasn't sure if i should go for it... so would you recommend it????

After all of my research for the perfect highlighter i ordered the Diorskin Powdre in 002 Amber (havent received it yet)
Until i get it I am using up a eyeshadow for highlighter and I more than happy to finish up the ES so quickly

I also purchased a shampoo from the bodyshop (cause i dont have another shampoo besides the catwalk oatmeal and honey which caused flakes on my scalp..)

BTW I used up my guerlain lipgloss *WOHOO* and my juicy Tube will be gone soon. The same with my benefit perfum and the hollywood glow!
So girls!!!!! Lets stick on the Plan!

Happy Easter!

Hey there! Cocnut oil works wonders for me, it nourishes a lot, adds tons of shine to the hair, helps its growth too! I think you'd also do great with Morroccan argan oil, but coconut oil is a cheaper alternative. Use it as a pre-shampoo treatment! Good luck!

Hello girls n_n!! How are you? I just came back from my grandma's home and I'm so tired! It was a crazy day hehe.

@lotta
I'm glad to read your posts again :) I thought you were on vacation somewhere...
Congratulations on finishing that perfume!! And you're also doing a great job with the lipgloss...
How can you use a lip gloss up?? xD it's so hard for me! I have never done that before. They usually get old before I finish them and I have to throw them up. I have 5 lipglosses and any of them is close to be finished... one is COMPLETELY NEW
As I have told you before I'm not a big fan of lipgloss. I don't even know why I bought some of them, because I only like 2.

Well I hope you receive that Dior highlighter soon and tell us how it works :) It looks so pretty in pictures but you will tell us the truth. Happy Easter too!!

Peace.

@metisse1
Don't regret buying that make up. Just enjoy what you have now :)
You haven't disappointed me. You have finished 40 products, remember?
I'm sure you can continue doing the project in a different way.
I really think that finishing 5 products and getting one is not complicated. I like it.
It gives me time to save money and be sure about the things I want to get next.

I 'd like to do this permanently. Do you think I'm crazy? I'd like to allow myself to do a big haul only once a year. Maybe on christmas or my birthday.

BTW I have read that argan oil is great for making your eyelashes grow. Have you tried that? Some people use that as a make up remover and they say it's very good.

Hello again :)

This is a list of the products that I want to finish. Of course I have more, but these are my priorities.

1- Renova Grapefruit Lip Balm. (I never use it)
2- Demoiselle Rice Powder. (I used to love it, but I forgot I had it LOL)
3- Revlon Colorburst in "Lilac". (I've been trying to finish this since february but I get bored after a while and start using a different color xD)
4- Clinique High Definition Mascara (I hate it SO much!! but it has much product left)
5- Milani Blush in "Luminous". (I use it everyday and it's showing a huge part of the pan)
6- Oriflame Lash Booster. (This is a lash conditioner but I use it for my eyebrows)

If I can finish this 6 products, I will get something nice in May :)

Ok, so i've done well so far, i've finished:

Estee Lauder Mascara
Clarins Night Moisturiser
Clinique Blush

and i've nearly finished:
Bourjois Mascara
Translucent Powder

But i broke! I was coming home from a spring break with some fellow makeup geeks and we ALL are meant to be on 10 pan, but the Airport's duty free section had a sale on Lancome and Dior, and I sinfully bought myself a heavenly Lancome Bronze eyeliner! After this recent FAILURE I need a little encouragement! I'm out of control :\ Please help.

Hi Luannie :)

I'm so happy that more girls are joining us :D
First of all, relax. It's not a big failure to buy 1 single item. If you feel too bad, just include an extra item in your list for project pan.
In the beginning I was so strict with myself. I was like "I am not going to buy ANYTHING until I finish project pan".
But after a while I decided to make this something more permanent. I mean, I want to do a kind of project pan all the year. I want to finish 5-6 products and get 1. Then do it again, and again... and again. But if I find something I really REALLY want to buy, I will allow myself to do it, but just 1 item.
Now... If I wanted to buy more lipglosses I would go and finish some of the lipglosses I have. If I wanted to buy a new mascara I'd go and finish a mascara I have...
You know, I would try to finish something before I got a better substitute for it.

Project pan should be an opportunity to learn about self-control, save some money, learn about the value of things and enjoy what we already have. It doesn't have to be a torture :) so don't regret buying anything but be careful next time.
Sales are so tempting.

Hey everyone!!!

Thank you so much again claudenz! I finished just yesterday my Sisley Eau du Soir body lotion (it was only a 150mL squeezetube but oh so tricky!) so that makes me 8 products I've finished this month so far! I still have 6 to go but if I can just reach 10 and save the 4 others for next month, that'd be great! Again, I acknowledged your routine and I think I'm also going to bring changes to how I buy. This is what I've decided :
1)No more lipglosses-lipsticks til I finish 3 or til I reach half of lipsticks
2)only buy go-to products (foundation, mascara)
3)no more blush this year til I finish at least 3 (I do want to try NYX products but I love my Mark, La Femme and NARS blushes!)
4)get a new perfume when I have finished 2x10mL of Elizabeth Arden Beauty (so I need to finish less than 15mL now)
5)no more eyeshadows this year!

Here is the rest of my project pan of the month :
1)Earth Therapeutics foot balm
2)Monistat Chafing Gel
3)Maybelline Scentsational gloss in "Watermelon Punch"
4)Mark Get a Tint tinted moisturizer "Honey Golden"
5)Mark Get Pinched creme blush in "Spicy"
6)Elizabeth Arden Beauty fragrance (5mL left)

As for argan oil, I think it may help to grow hair and brows, but I find olive oil works really well at growing lashes and brows, it's highly nourishing. Also try castor oil for that purpose oil, but olive oil is another great alternative! I even use it as a makeup remover because it doesn't irritate my skin at all, removes all the gunk and nourishes it! I'm not too fan of argan oil because of the smell, my mother is more of an argan oil lover but it is a major product!

Good luck for project pan and have fun with your products!!!

Hey girls I know thats out of the topic BUT I have right now such an horrible appetite for cake, you will not believe  ! But my fridge is empty, shops are closed and i dont know any body who has some cake left. Does anybody know that feeling?
HAHAHA

So back to the topic: WOW metisse1: 8 products!!!
@Luanni: one single item isn't that big of a deal as long as you go back on track. So thats like always in life, even if you fail you need to stand up and keep on going...Everybody struggles sometimes. So glad you are here.
And I guess you will be able to gell us about your next empty item soon. ;)

@claudenz:as you know i discovered while on p10pan that I'm not a fan of lipgloss at all. BUT i always try to do my best on the project and want to finish up the glossed so badly, that i keep reapplying the gloss during the day...
Yesterday i went to the mac counter and tried some lipsticks (lickable, lustering and girls about town) all of them looked amazing but i didn't buy anything, cause first i want to finish my glosses :D

When i went away from the counter i felt so superstrong, i was very proud and that feeling feels way better than buying things. Cause not buying things gives me the feeling of beeing free! Like i feel that i dont have to buy, i show myself that i dont have an addiction, that i can stop the influence the make up industrie has on me. i keep telling me that can do my own choices very active. not beeing passive and let myself buy and buy just because everybody is buying even if they dont need it. i want to be happy and so i will continue going this way.

Heeeey girls ! n_n
How are you doing??

I cleaned my make up drawer yesterday. I was looking for items that had been forgotten. I rediscovered a purple jumbo pencil that had only used once. I used it to create a purple cat eyeliner and used some aqua eyeshadow all over my eyelid... I loved the results and when my boyfriend saw my make up he told me that my eye make up was beautiful.
It's the first time I hear a guy talking about my make up. I mean... they usually say "you look good" but never talk about my make up directly.
Well, I'm playing with colorful make up now and I'm loving it!

I also have to say that I'm so happy because I received my 2 Sigma brushes today. I ordered the E35 ($9.00) and the E40 ($9.00) ones. They are so perrrrfect.
They arrived after 3 weeks because I didn't want to spend more money in a better delivery service. I didn't want to get more than 2 brushes either... I only needed some for blending my eyeshadow.

BTW my mother ran out of liquid foundation and I had 2: A Palladio Herbal Foundation (2/3 left) and a Maybelline Superstay Foundation (like new). So I gave her one, because I hardly ever use liquid foundation and it's ridiculous to have 2. You know foundation lasts a long long time. I prefer pressed powder or something like that... I also have a Revlon Mineral Foundation that is almost new.
When you give something away, do you count that item as a part of project pan?

hey girls, it seems like there are some posts missing!?!?
We have been on page 22 and today i looked up our support thread and the last posts are gone and the last page is 21... what happened?

BTW: I got my Dior Highlighter and i do love them. If anybody has no highlighter i would truly recommend them, because it leqves a really, nice wearable glow, perfect for daytime and job ! Its not shimmery at all its just a very very nice glow.
Its not spectacular. you just look healthy and with this nice glow. Since its not a WOW WOW WOW Eyecatcher product i can imagine you could find it in the lower price range too.

Overall i can say I'm happy with my purchase because i didn't have an highlighter. But if you already have an wearable highlighter i would recommend first finishing the products you have because its not a MUST HAVE product, which makes a HUGE impact on your face...

Today is the last day of the moth, i'll jump in the shower right now and I'm pretty sure i'll finish my shower gel and my bodylotion :D
Have a great day!!!
