Bohemian Look_Hair_New

For the hair you just want to create beachy waves. Use an 1 1/2 inch curling iron and take sections of your hair and with the curling iron open wrap the hair around the iron, away from the face, and hold for about 30 seconds. You could also use a curling wand for this and it would be easier. Once you have your hair curled, use your fingers to break up the curls to achieve those bouncy, beach waves. To finish the hair part, use a elastic head band and wrap around the forehead making sure to pull the hair up slightly at the roots and style it as you like.

Today I have a fun, girly makeup look for all of you to try. There is no actual theme to this, just a fun look that is ideal for all you girls who love pink as much as I do. This dramatic look incorporates everything great about being a girl, from stunning washes of pink to a touch of glitter to adorn the eyes. This look is easy to do and looks great whether you’re wearing it on a date or out with friends. Just leave off the glitter and this look is great for a day look as well.

Hair :

  • Flat Iron (your hair needs to be straight)

How To:

  • Begin by using the pointed end of the teasing brush and create a deep part on the side of your head.
  • Take the side of your hair and slick it straight back making sure it is tight and slick. Then pin it in the back with a couple of bobby pins. Spray it with your hairspray to make sure it’s nice and slicked back. Repeat the same thing on the other side of your head.
  • Now to begin the teasing. Take the middle in small sections and tease, tease and tease some more! Then spray the back of the section with some hairspray and lay it forward. Keep doing this all the way back to the back of your head.
  • Once it is all teased, take gently brush the hair backward and shape it to give it a mo-hawk type look. Make sure to keep the hairspray handy so your can spray it into place as your work.
  • If the sides need to be secured to keep the poof away from the really slick side, add some extra bobby pins. Just make sure to hide them well.
  • To make it even more Rocker looking, tease the sides and add some hairspray to give it a messy look.
  • If you want to take it even a step FURTHER add some clip in colored hair extensions to the sides.

How To:

  • Begin by using Rave gel eyeliner and place the color on the lower eyelids and smudge the color up slightly into the crease and blend it out.
  • Before the color dries and sets, use a dry brush and soften the harsh line by using windshield wiper motions. You want make sure you blend the color out for a smokey effect.
  • To darken the lower lid, go in with the color Immortal and with the same brush you used to place the other color, sweep the color on the lid next to the lashline. Sweep the color upward making sure NOT to go into the crease.
  • Now with a pencil brush go back in with Rave and run the color all the way under the lower lashline coming all the way in.
  • Using a eyeliner pencil, dip it into the Immortal again and line the upper and lower waterlines.
  • To intensify the look more add a pair of false lashes like the Demi Lovies and your favorite mascara.
  • Finally, dab a small amount of clear lipgloss to the lower eyelids to create that very glossy Rocker effect.
  • For the cheeks keep it simple by adding a peach colored blush to the backs of the cheeks. Here we used Tarte’s Tipsy to help warm the look up.
  • Now for the lips, we are going to use 3 different lipliners by NYX. Begin by lining the lips with the color Fuchsia and then turn the liner on the side and pull the color downward slightly.
  • Switch to the Dolly pink and start shading where the other color ended. You want this to have a gradient effect on the lips. Leave the very center of the lips blank for the last color.
  • Use the white eyeliner pencil and put the color onto the very center of the lips and blend the color out with your finger.
  • Dab some clear lipgloss in the center of the lips to blend all the colors together.

Start with priming your lid with your favorite primer:

 

Then apply Makeup Geek  Beaches and Cream shadow to your whole lid:

 

Apply Makeup Geek Latte above crease, I decided to keep the edges sharp, but you can blend them if you want.
Also apply Latte halfway to your lower lashline. You can also add depth to the look by applying darker browns (such as Makeup Geek Bada Bing, Mocha) to outer corner :

 

Next the liner, I wanted the liner to be super-bold, so I didn’t start it straight from inner corner, and I made quite large wing to outer corner.

As many of you may know I recently attended IMATS and picked up so many goodies that I can’t wait to share with all of you. One of the things I got while there was this stunning new eyeshadow palette from Sugarpill named “Hearbreaker”.  Sugarpill is knows for their vibrant, highly pigmented, very intense colors and their creamy texture.  It had been a long time since  I have been able to sit down and actually play in makeup, so I had so much fun coming up with this look for you guys. Everyday should feel like a special day, and every birthday should be remembered as the most special one. But don’t wait until your birthday to try this striking and dramatic look. It’s perfect for a night out with friends, on a date, or on your special day, this look will have you not only looking, but feeling like the incredible Makeup Geek you really are! So whether you are looking for makeup ideas in preparation of a special day, or you just want to take your everyday makeup up a notch, this look is sure to become a quick favorite.

Get the Look

  •  Start by priming the eyes with your favorite primer.
  • This part is optional; using a gold eyeliner like Urban Decay’s Baked or NYX jumbo pencil in Gold, color the bottom portion of your eyelid making sure to stay under the crease.
  • Take a small piece of scotch tape and place it on the back of your hand and remove it. Do this several times to remove most of the “sticky” residue. This will keep the tape from pulling off your face makeup.
  • Apply the small piece of scotch tape to the outer corner of your eye and angle it upward to the end of the eyebrow.  This will help create the cat eye shape and a defined line at the outer corner.
  • Using a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush, blend the shade Prune or Last Dance into the crease of the eye.
  • Wipe off that same brush very well.  Here Marlena uses the color NYX Dallas, which has been discontinued, a great dupe of this is our very own Makeup Geek color in Cinderella. Use the shade as your highlight and place it under the brow bone feathering out any harsh lines from the previous color.
  • With a smaller crease brush, like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush, pick up the shade NYX Deep Brown or Makeup Geek’s Sensuous.  With the point of the brush, make a line along the edge of the tape on the outer corner of your eye.
  • Without picking up anymore color, use what’s left on your brush and begin to feather the color in especially into the crease area and upward.
  • Now switch to a flat stiff brush like the Makeup Geek’s Flat Eye Brush, go in with MAC’s Copper Sparkle Pigment.  Put a small amount into the lid and press the brush into the glitter.  Tap the brush to knock off an excess and prevent fallout.
  • Pat the glitter on the eyelid over the gold eyeliner. Be sure not to bring the glitter into the crease. This should be concentrated on the lower lid. Pat the color on the lid rather than wiping it on to keep the color concentrated and potent.
  • Remove the tape from the outer portion of your eye revealing a sharp, crisp line.  If you want softer edges, use a Q-Tip or fluffy brush to soften the edges of the line.
  • Next, take the NYX glitter liner in Passion and apply a fine line under the lower lashes to tie in the purple from the purple on the upper lids.
  • Curl your lashes and apply your favorite false lashes. Here we used Ardell’s Demi Wispies Lashes.
  • Using a fluffy angled blush brush like Makeup Geek’s angled blush brush, apply a soft peachy shade like NYX’s Pinched to the back of your cheekbones. You don’t want this color to be on the apple of your cheeks so it doesn’t compete with your eyes.
  • Last apply your favorite lip-gloss and you are ready to go.

Endless Possibilities

You would probably think there isn’t much more you could do to this look.  Add a darker purple like Makeup Geek’s Duchess or Corrupt to the outer v portion of the eyes for a deeper more intense look.  Also, add one of those shades under the eye before adding your glitter eye liner. Add to the outer 1/3 or to ½ way of the eye rather than the whole lower lash. Then place the glitter over it.  You could also add a dramatic winged out eyeliner for a more cat eye effect.

So, let every day be special!  There is no need to wait for just one day out of the year. Just make sure you are ready to be the center of attention with this remarkable look.
