I love the summer time but I’m ready for it to be over! As the fall season comes, we think we don’t need to wear sunscreen. But it’s very important anytime that you are outside to protect yourself. We’ve all heard a million times what the sun can do to our skin and how important sunscreen is. But do you know how important it is to get a little sunshine? Clinical evidence shows that sunlight helps prevent 17 kinds of cancer. Other evidence shows a lack of sunshine can cause bone loss,depression or heart disease. So sun isn’t our enemy but too much sun can be! So get outside and enjoy out door (especially now that it won’t be so hot) activities but protect yourself. Here’s a quick review of my favorite sunscreen line.

L’oreal came out with it the sunscreen in a regular lotion that you can rub in. It also comes in a hydra Lotion Spray, you might have rub this in a little bit because it sprays a little thick.There’s also a Crystal Clear Mist formula which is also a spray. Its very convenient you just spray and go – this is my favorite one. There is also a face sun screen. I really love all of these but I don’t use the face sunscreen to much because it feels a little oily. My skin is already Oily so I don’t want to add on to that!

Million Dollar Tan Sunless Tanning Solution

I’ve tried so many self tanners! Most of them are orange in color, they streak and the smell is horrible! My skin is very light, I live in Northern California and I want to feel comfortable wearing shorts and a tank top on hot summer days. I refuse to go tanning as it’s pricey and so bad for your skin!  So I found a self tanner that I love and wanted to share with you guys!

Pros:

• The color is amazing! It looks so natural!
• Paraben free and no animal testing
• It comes with a sponge applicator and in a spray bottle, so the inside of your hands don’t get product on them.
• Color appears immediately so you can see if you’ve missed any spots.
• It won’t clog your pores. You can even use this on your face, just add with your moisturizer.
• Your tan will last from one to two weeks.
• It does have a little scent to it but it’s not bad at all. It doesn’t smell like self tanner.

Cons:

• A little pricey.
• The second time I used it, it came off a little streaky on my legs after about a week.

I really do recommend this product! It worked really well and even though it’s a little pricey my 4 oz bottle lasted about 8 tans. I just apply it before I go to bed (because you can’t get wet or sweat for 6-8 hours) and when I wake up take a shower to rinse it off. I always get compliments! This is a MUST TRY!

Bonjour Makeup Geeks!

I am still here in Paris and have found some amazing products that I wanted to review for you!  One of them is this Yves Rocher Body Lotion- the best lotion I think I have ever used!

Whenever I travel, my skin dries up as if I’d been in the Sahara Desert for 3 days.  It’s horrible! So after landing in Paris, my first adventure was to find some lotion (of course it’s the one thing I didn’t pack. Yay for a fabulous memory).

We stopped into the Yves Rocher store which reminded me a lot of Bath and Body Works- lots of lotions, shower gels, and hand soaps to choose from.  I went with the oatmeal scent as it was fresh and not too overpowering  I just can’t believe how well it softens my skin without feeling greasy- I love it!

What I love:

• The feel of the lotion- very soft and moisturizing without feeling greasy
• It keeps my skin soft for most of the day
• It has a fresh smell that isn’t overpowering
• You need just a little bit, so it should last awhile
• The price:  5 Euros for the bottle (price varies for the US though. I guess I’m smuggling some back in my suitcase- haha)

What I hate:

• I just wish it came in a pump so it was easier to disperse- not a huge deal though…
