Hello Makeup Geeks! Welcome to another installment of our Idea Gallery for March 2013. Spring is here and with it the bright hues that accompany it. This months saw vivid and impressive looks along with pops of bright colors to ring in the warmer months. With amazing color choices, and astonishing technique, our artist left nothing to the imagination. From cooler tones that remind us of cool spring nights, to warmer sun-kissed shades, there is something here for everyone.

turquoise with brown by Dressed-in-mint

This graceful and timeless look is ideal for a soft day look, or anytime you want to add a soft wash of color to your lids. Here, the artist used a combination of Inglot and Sleek product to achieve this look but we will give you some Makeup Geek alternatives to achieve this stunning look. To begin, go in with a shimmery turquoise like Makeup Geek’s Sea Mist and a the MUG Eye Shader Brush and gently pat the color over the lower lid staying below the crease. Next, go in with a soft dome brush and a soft brown shade such as Mocha, and place on the outer part of the eye and sweep into the crease making sure to blend out any harsh lines leaving a soft wash of color on the lid. Run the same turquoise shade under the entire length of the eye and add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner. Line the upper and lower waterlines with a black gel liner like Immortal. Curl your lashes and add mascara, here Maybelline ROCKET was used. Then, add a great pair of lashes, here the artist used Ardell #318.

This remarkable look is nothing short of stunning. To begin this look, place a matte white like White Lies on the inner 1/3 of the eye. With the MUG Eye Shader Brush or any flat, stiff brush, place the color Poolside over the next 1/3 of the eye keeping the color below the crease. Wipe off your brush and go in with Boo Berry and repeat the same process. Finish up with the color Nautica and wing the color up slightly at the edge of the eye. With a small dome brush, go in with Ocean Breeze and blend into the crease of the eye. Use the same brush to feather the color Mocha above the Ocean Breeze making sure to feather out any harsh lines left behind. You may have to go back and retouch the wing you created earlier with the shade Nautica. Line the upper lash-line with Immortal creating a winged effect at the end making sure not to extend it past the blue shade. For under the eye, go in with the gel liner in Fame and the MUG Bent Liner Brush and line under the eye where your lashes begin and wing the color out where the black ends making sure to leave a open space between the Immortal and the Fame. Wipe off that brush and go back in with the gel liner Mystic and line from the inner part of the eye to where the blue begins and between the black and blue wings at the end of the eye. Place a white or flesh toned liner on the lower waterline to open the eyes. Curl your lashes and add a couple of coats of your best mascara. For a finished look, add a pair of dramatic feathery lashes.

St Patrick’s Day Eye Makeup by makeupbyhilary

This amazing look was inspired by the greens that accompany St. Patrick’s Day. Here the artist used a combination of products for this fun and festive look. Begin by patting Silk Natural’s Eyeshadow in Kingfish over the lower part of the eye coming up slightly past the crease. This is a lovely blue/green color that has a gold shift to it so it works perfectly for this look. For the inner corner the artist here used Lime Crime’s Criminal. Sweep the color up above the crease beginning at the inner corner and into the crease coming in 1/2 of the way. Make sure and put a small amount of the the same shade under the inner 1/3 of the eye also. Now go in with a matte brown color, here the artist used the color Tease from the Naked 2 palette, and feather the color on the outer 1/2 of the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Bring the same shade under the eye from the outer corner coming in to where the lower lashes begin. You may have to go back in with the Criminal and touch up the green. Line the lower waterline with an blue/green liner, here the artist used Urban Decay’s 24/7 liner in Mainline. Curl you lashes and add your favorite thickening mascara. To finish the look put on a pair of thick lashes like Ardell’s #109.

New Wave meets Arabic by Maryam-Maquillage

This eye-catching look is nothing short of amazing! The edgy look was inspired by New York’s Fashion week. Wearing this is a great way to channel your inner diva. Here the artist used eyeshadows from Glamour Doll Eyes. To begin, place a piece of scotch tape at the end of the eye to create this sharp, precise line you see here. After you have used your primer, apply NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk over the lid to allow the colors to pop off the eye. Use a flat, stiff brush such as the MUG Eye Shader Brush and pat the color Sarcasm over the lower lid bringing the color up slightly past the crease. Next, go in with Candy Floss, a bright pink shade, and a fluffy dome brush and sweep the color along the edge of the tape and above the crease making sure to feather the color out. With a pointed crease brush like the MUG Pointed Crease Brush, pick up the dark brown color Morocco and brush along the edge of the tape and into the crease darkening the pink shade. Pick up your fluffy brush and a little more of the pink and use to blend out the brown and add back any of the pink color you may have lost.  Use a small brush and apply a small amount of the silver color Pistol Pistol to the inner 1/3 of the crease. Use the white color Disco White and use under the browbone and as a highlight and pop a little in the inner corner as well. With a small brush, run an intense black like Makeup Geek’s Corrupt under the eye keeping the color close to the lashes. Go over the edge of the black with the shimmery teal shade Fiji Mermaid by Glamour Doll Eyes. You want to have a slight smokey effect under the eye. Line the top of the eye with a gel liner like Immortal and line the upper and lower waterlines as well. Next, curl your lashes and add some good mascara. To finish this exotic look, use a pair of spiky, embellished lashes. Here the artist used Red Cherry #609. If you want the colors more saturated, try mixing them with a mixing medium like FACE Atelier Transforming Gel.

Showgirl by Siham.Y

This sultry look is perfect for bringing out your inner showgirl. Ideal for when you want a dramatic smokey look, this is sure to become a fast favorite. The artist here used all MAC products but was kind enough to also list some Makeup Geek alternatives. To begin, use the MUG Eye Shader Brush and pat the color Mercury over the lower lid and in the inner corner. Use a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush to blend the color Sensuous into the outer 1/3 of the eye and into the crease. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines left behind. Use a smaller dome brush such as the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush to go in and intensify the outer v and crease with the color Drama Queen. Use the fluffy brush to feather out the lines and create a gradient effect. You may have to back and forth between these two shades until you get the intensity you desire. Once it is blended out, go in with a fluffy brush and add White Lies onto the browbone as a highlight and to feather out any harsh lines. Run the color Sensuous under the length of the eye coming in all the way. If you want, you can add a touch of Drama Queen to darken the color. It’s all about personal preference. Line the upper lash-line with a black liner and line the upper and lower waterlines as well. Curl your lashes and add your best mascara. To finish the look add a pair of showstopping lashes like the Ardell Demi Luvies.

Elegant green by ilovemyaddiction

Make your hazel eyes look even greener with the elegant green look. But just because you don’t have green eyes don’t let that keep you from trying this amazing look. To begin, use a small pointed brush like the MUG Pointed Crease Brush and darken the outer 1/3 of the eye with the intensely black Corrupt. Wipe off that brush and go in with the color Galaxy to blend above the black. Make sure you gently blend out any harsh lines. Wipe off the brush again and go in with Stealth and sweep the color inward beginning where the Galaxy left off. Now using the MUG Eye Shader Brush, or any flat, stiff brush, pat the color Appletini over the rest of the eyelid going slightly past the crease. Use a pop of Shimma Shimma on the inner corner to help open the eyes and make them appear brighter. Using a smudger brush, apply the color Envy under the eye coming in to where you lashes begin. Pat the same color on the waterline as well. (Makeup Geek shadows are safe to use on the inner rim of the eye. However, if you wear contacts you may want to opt for a dark green pencil or gel liner) Use a small amount of Shimma Shimma from where the green left off and bring it into the inner corner. Use Corrupt and a angled eyeliner brush to line the upper lash-line keeping the color close to the lashes. Curl your lashes and add a great mascara to finish the look.

Pinkalicious by choccolate91

This fun and colorful look is not for the faint of heart, but for our more adventurous Makeup Geek’s this is for you! The artist here used Manhattan Multi and Intense eyeshadows to get the look so we are going to offer some Makeup Geek alternative so you can have the same look. To begin, pat a small amount of Shimma Shimma on the inner corner and on the upper 1/3 of the eye. Bring the same shade under the inner 1/3 of the eye as well. With the MUG Eye Shader Brush, go in with the color Cupcake and pat the color where the Shimma Shimma left off going 1/3 of the way making sure to blend the lines where the colors meet making sure to keep all the colors below the crease. Repeat the same process using the shade Simply Marlena. Once again make sure to blend the colors where the two shades meet. Now switch to a small dome brush like the MUG Outer V Brush and with the color Sensuous, place on the last 1/3 of the eyelid creating a “wing” at the end of the eye. Bring the color in on the crease stopping where the Shimma Shimma began. Make sure to blend out any harsh lines left behind. Use the color Corrupt to line the lower lash-line coming in to where your lashes begin. You may have to go back and touch up the Shimma Shimma. Wing the color out from under the eye. With a white liner pencil, or with a small brush and the Makeup Geek gel liner in Cottontail, draw a “wing” between the black under the eye and the Sensuous coming in 1/2 of the way. Place a small line of the gel liner in Electric under the lash-line on the inner part of the eye. Curl your lashes and add a couple coats of your favorite mascara. To finish the look, add 4 pink stones to the upper eye above the white line.

For a cool summer look that has the perfect pop of color without being overwhelming this is perfect! This look is easy to do and with so many color combinations to choose from the possibilities are endless. To get this look begin by using a shade close to your own skintone over the eye lid and feather out the color. Use a fluffy dome brush like the MUG Crease Brush, sweep a soft, cool toned brown like Hipster into the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Use the gel liner in Immortal to create a dramatic winged liner on the top eyelid. Now for all that color, begin by using a smudging brush like the MUG Eyeliner Smudge Brush and place the color Poolside on the inner 1/3 of the bottom of the eye. Wipe off your brush and next go it with the color Neptune and smudge over the next 1/3. Finish off by using Boo Berry on the under the eye on the outer 1/3 and wing the color out to beside the black wing. Add a pop of Bling on the inner corner. This color will pick up the blue shades without adding to much blue. Curl your lashes and add mascara. To tie the look together, add a pair of lashes like Ardell Demi Wispies.

This daring and striking look is sure to garner the best of attention and a stunning example of a perfect cut crease. To begin, use a very small brush. An angled eyeliner brush works great as it allows you to more easily follow the natural curvature of the eye. Take a small brush of your choice and the severe black Corrupt and draw a line slightly above the crease following the natural curve of the eye. Fill in the outer 1/3 of the eye with the same intense black and create a winged effect on the end of the eye. If you need help creating that crisp line at the edge of the eye, place a piece of scotch tape along the corner of the eye and bring the color up the edge of the tape.  Flip the brush on its side where it lays flat against your eye and gently pull the eyeshadow upward until you get a faded effect. Don’t worry if you don’t master this right away, for many people a cut crease is one of the hardest to perfect. Now go in with a flat, stiff brush like the Makeup Geek Eye Shader Brush and gently pat the color Sensuous on the lid below the cut crease leaving the inner 1/3 of the eye open. Make sure to blend where the two colors meet. Finish filling in the inner part of the eye with a shimmery color like Bling or Shimma Shimma. If you used tape on your eye go ahead and remove it to reveal a sharp line. Use Corrupt to line under the eye starting at where you lashes begin and allowing the line to thicken as you extend it to create a wing on the bottom. Make sure NOT to connect the upper and lower wings, you want a space left between them. Now go in with a small dome brush and apply Sensuous over the edge of the black giving the eye a smokey appearance. Place the same shimmery color you used on the inner 1/3 of the eye under the eye to where the black begins. Line the upper and lower waterlines with the gel liner in Immortal, curl your lashes and add you best mascara to finish.

Dollipop Queen by MakeUpLoveZz

This colorful smokey eye is perfect when you want to be the center of attention. And with the pop of glitter under the eye it’s perfect for whenever you want an eye-catching look. To begin, place a piece of scotch tape at the end of the eye to create a sharp use a flat stiff brush like the MUG Eye Shader Brush and pat Sugarpill’s Dollipop over the lower lid staying below the crease. Now go in with the MUG Crease Brush and blend the shocking Poison Plum into the outer 1/3 of the eye and sweep the color up along the edge of the tape and into the crease. Make sure to feather the color upward blending our the harsh lines left behind. No go in with a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush and sweep Makeup Geek’s intense black Corrupt into the crease making sure not to cover the purple along the edge of the tape. You may have to go back in with the Poison Plum to blend out the harsh lines left from the black and to replace some of the purple lost during blending. Use Vanilla Bean to blend out any harsh lines and as a highlight on the browbone. With a smudger brush, smudge Corrupt under the entire length of the eye. With the black gel liner Immortal, create a winged liner on the top of the eye and liner the upper and lower waterlines. Curl your lashes and add two coats of your best mascara. Adding extra drama to the look is easy by adding a pair of dramatic lashes to the eye. Ardell #120 Demies would be great here. To add that pop of shimmer to the eye use NYX Glitter Liner in Purple under your eye over the black.

This cool look is perfect for a night on the town or when you want to catch the attention of that special someone. Begin with a small pointed brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and the color Boo Berry. Using small circular motions place the shade in the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye bringing the color up into the crease connecting the inner and outer parts of the eye. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines leaving a soft effect. Wipe off that same brush very well and go in with Corrupt, an intense black shade and darken the inner and outer corners making sure not to completely cover the Boo Berry. Go in with a flat, stiff brush and pat a white color like White Lies over the middle of the eye. Run a soft purple like Wisteria under the entire length of the bottom of the eye. Use a good glitter adhesive like LA Splash pat a small amount over the white you placed earlier. Now pat LA Splash Glitter in Gaudy over the glue to give the white an icy effect. Line the upper lash-line with the black gel liner in Immortal keeping the color close to the lash-line. Line the upper and lower waterlines and curl your eyelashes adding a couple coats of your favorite mascara. To finish the look, add a pair of dramatic lashes.

Using a combination of Sugarpill and Makeup Geek products, the artist here created a perfect example of a colorful cut crease. To begin, use a very small brush like the MUG Detail Brush. This is a dual ended brush and works perfect for a look like this. Use the “pointed” end and draw a line slightly above the crease with the gel liner in Immortal. Bring the line in only 1/2 of the way and extend the wing on the end upward. Wipe off your brush and go in with the gel liner in Fame and pick up where the Immortal left off and bring the line in almost all the way leaving a small space in the inner corner. Flip the brush to the other end to the small, flat end of the brush and with it laying on it’s side, drag the black liner upward slightly. Go in with Sugarpill’s Poison Plum and use to help drag the black liner upward. Wipe off that end of the brush and go in with Makeup Geek’s Nautica and use to pull the blue liner upward giving it a smokey appearance. Use a small dome brush to feather out any harsh lines.  Again, wipe off that end of the brush and apply Mermaid to where the blue ended and bring into the inner corner. With a flat, stiff brush like the Makeup Geek Eye Shader Brush, gently pat Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake over the lower lid making sure to keep the color below the crease lines. If you do happen to get color on the lines simply go back with a small brush and touch up with a matching shade. Use the shade Flamepoint and pat over the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye leaving the yellow visible in the middle of the eyelid. Use the black gel liner in Immortal to create a winged line on the top of the eyelid extending to where the wing from the crease ended but not connecting them. Place the same color under the eye starting half way and coming out to meet up with the wing. Create a “beak” with the black liner in the middle of the under eye where the black liner began and line the outer 1/2 of the waterline with the black. Next, go in with the orange color Flamepoint again and place between the wing from the lower eyelid and the wing from the crease. Pat a small amount of the yellow Buttercupcake under the eye where the black left off and bring the color all the way inward. Pat the same color on the remaining waterline. Curl your lashes and add a good mascara and a set of spikey lashes like the Sugarpill’s False lashes in Precious.

This remarkable cat eye is perfect for night out on the town. The gunmetal tones are  sure to catch the eye of anyone who sees you. The artist here used the Naked Palette to achieve this sensational look. Begin by using a flat, stiff brush like the MUG Eye Shader Brush and pat the color Smog over the lower part of the lid staying below the crease. Use the Makeup Geek Crease Brush to feather the color Darkhorse into the crease let the color fade as it comes inward. Wipe off that same brush and go in with the color Naked above the Darkhorse making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Use a small amount of Virgin in the inner corner of the eye and if you choose as a highlight on the brow-bone. Use a small brush and run the shade Gunmetal under the entire length of the eye. Create a dramatic winged effect using L’Oreal’s Black Marker Pencil and make sure to place it under the edge of the eye to add depth to the look. Line the upper and lower waterlines, curl your lashes and add some lengthening mascara or/and a pair of lashes to complete a easy but astounding look.

Proving that simple can be stunning, the artist here only uses 3 Makeup Geeks shades to create this striking yet simple look. Begin by using the MUG Eye Shader Brush and patting Glamorous over the lower lid allowing the color to come up slightly past the crease. Use a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush to feather in the color Bada Bing onto the outer corner of the eye and blend the color into the crease allowing the color to fade as you bring it in. This keeps the majority of the color on the outer part of the eye. Use the fluffy brush to blend out any lines. Use a small brush to run the same dark brown under the outer 1/3 of the eye. Wipe off the small brush very well and place the color Bleached Blonde under the rest of the eye coming in all the way. Use a smudger brush to smudge the color Corrupt along the upper lash-line to intensify the look and line the upper and lower waterlines as well. Curl your lashes and add a couple coats of your favorite mascara. To complete the look, add a pair of fun lashes like the Ardell Demi Wispies.

St. Patrick’s Day by mrralphie

St. Patrick’s Day has never looked so amazing! This striking look is ideal for not only the greenest day of the year, but leave off the clover and you have the perfect green smokey eye. The artist here used a combination of Lime Crime, Makeup Geek and Sugarpill cosmetics to obtain this stunning look. Begin by placing a piece of scotch tape to the outer part of the eye to create a crisp line. You can go back afterward and soften this with a Q-Tip. Using a small dome brush like the MUG Pointed Crease Brush, go in with Makeup Geek’s Envy and place the color along the edge of the tape bringing the color in softly ABOVE the crease. Place the same color on the inner part of the eye and bring the color up to meet what was place above the crease line. You are basically creating a snowglobe or sandwich look with the crease part raised higher than usual. Smudge the same green under the entire length of the eye. Wipe off that same brush and go in with Appletini, a soft green color and blend it above the crease to feather the color out. Use the same color and place on the inner and outer corners where the Envy left off bringing the color in 1/3 of the way. Make sure to blend the colors where meet so there are no harsh lines. You want to create a soft gradient effect from darkest to lightest all around the eye. Use the same soft green to place over the edge of the Envy under the eye to help smudge the color and give it a smokey effect. Using a flat, stiff brush like the MUG Eye Shader Brush, go in with White Lies and gently pat the color over the middle of the eye bringing the color up past the crease. Use the same white under the browbone as a highlight and feather out any lines left behind. Now for the fun part, go in with Lime Crime’s eyeliner in Lunar Sea and create a line between the white eyeshadow and the Envy bringing the color into the inner corner. Go ahead if you used tape and gently remove it at this time. Mix a small amount of Lime Crime’s Citreuse and Suparpill’s Goldilux Pigment to create a glittery liner and line the upper lash-line starting at the middle of the lashes and winging out the end. Create another small wing under the eye beginning at the corner. Don’t connect the two glitter wings, leave a space between them and place a small line of white with the Lunar Sea. Use Lime Crime’s black shadow in Lotus Noir to darken under the eye right bear the lash-line and to create a “peak” in the inner corner. Line the upper and lower waterlines with a black liner. Pat a small amount of the Goldilux pigment over the black “peak”. Curl your lashes and add a couple of coats of your favorite mascara. To complete the look, add a pair of spiky lashes like the Ardell #102 Demies.

This elegant grey look is perfect for when you want a dramatic office look.  We are going to give you some Makeup Geek alternative to recreate this graceful look. Begin by patting a matte grey like Stealth, or any soft grey, over the lower lid keeping the color below the crease. Next, with a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush, place a dark grey such as Galaxy over the outer 1/3 of the eye and gently sweep the color inward. Use the same brush to smudge the Galaxy under the eye as well. Blend a matte brown like Mocha over the Galaxy to blend out any harsh lines keeping this color just over the Galaxy. Now go in with a lighter matte brown like Frappe and place the color where the Mocha left of and bring the color in the rest of the way. Use a clean fluffy dome brush to feather out any harsh lines. Use the same soft grey shade and smudge under the eye over the edge of the Stealth and bring the color all the way in. Line you upper lash-line the upper and lower waterlines with a good water-resistant gel liner like Immortal. Finish by curling your lashes and adding a great mascara!

70?s SunBurst by Silje Beate

This rocking sexy look was inspired by a sunburst finish from a guitar. The colorful look is perfect for warmer months and creating some heat of your own. To get this look begin by using a flat, stiff brush like the MUG Eye Shader Brush and patting the color Gold Digger over the inner 1/3 of the eye bringing the color slightly above the crease. Place the same rich gold under the inner 1/3 as well. Wipe off that same brush and go in with the color Goddess, a metallic copper and pat over the next 1/3 of the eyelid making sure to blend the lines where the color meets. Repeat the same process again for the outer 1/3 of the eye using the shade Bitten. Now switch to a small pointed brush like the MUG Pointed Crease Brush and with a small amount of the intensely pigmented Corrupt, feather the color into the crease blending out the harsh lines. Wipe that brush off REALLY well and pick up a small amount of the Bitten again and use above the Corrupt to feather out the lines and leave a soft wash of color. Use a mixture of Beaches and Cream and Vanilla Bean as a highlight on the browbone and blend out any harsh lines that may be left behind. For under the eye, use a smudger brush and run the color Corrupt under the eye coming in to where you lashes begin. You may have to go back and touch up the Gold Digger that you placed under the inner part of the eye. Use the gel liner in Immortal to create a winged liner on the top of your eye. Curl you lashes and add a good mascara. For a finished look that sure to be hot, use a pair of dramatic lashes like the Red Cherry #46.

This amazing purple look is great for you green eyed babes but will work great on every eye color. Easy to do, this look is one that you will find yourself coming back to time and time again. Begin by patting the color Prom Night over the lower lid with the MUG Eye Shader Brush keeping the color below the crease. Run a small amount under the length of the eye keeping the color close to the lashes. With a fluffy dome brush like the MUG Crease Brush, feather the color Twilight into the crease making sure to feathering the color upward making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Run the same color around the edge of the eye and under the eye blending out the under eye. With a small dome brush like the MUG Pointed Crease Brush, sweep the color Taupe Notch into the crease to darken it and add depth to the look. Add a purple liner like Makeup Geek’s Amethyst to the lower waterline, curl your lashes and add a couple of coats of your favorite mascara. Finish the look by adding a pair of feathery lashes like the Ardell Demi Luvies.

Exotic Peacock Dreaming Of A Beautiful Mermaid by Siham.Y

This exotic look will captivate everyone who sees it. To begin, pat the color Mermaid over the lower lid keeping the color below the crease. Next, go in with the color Peacock and gently pat the color over the inner and outer corners allowing the Mermaid in the middle of the eye to peak through. Using a small brush like a smudger brush, draw a line on the outer corner of the eye with Bada Bing and bring the color up into the crease. Use the brush to softly blend out the color. Now switch to a fluffy dome brush and use the color Mocha to blend out any harsh lines left from the Bada Bing. Feather the color out so there are no lines and you have a soft wash of color. You may need to go back and forth between Bada Bing and Mocha until you get the desired amount of color you want. Use a fluffy brush to apply Bling on the browbone as a highlight. Use a small brush and place the Bada Bing under the entire length of the eye smudging it out for a smokey effect. Use the gel liner in Immortal to create a winged liner on the top of your eye and line the upper and lower waterlines. Curl your lashes, add mascara and a pair a pair of wispy lashes like Ardell’s Demi Wispies.

“Kisses Down Low” INSPIRED by Dressed-in-mint 

This striking blue and gold look is perfect for those of you who want to add more color to your summer looks. To recreate this stunning look begin by patting on the color Bleached Blonde over the lower lid with the MUG Eye Shader Brush coming in 3/4 of the way. Make sure to keep the color below the crease of the eye. Next, go in with a pointed dome brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and place the color Boo Berry on the outer 1/3 of the eye and sweep the color into the crease only bringing the color in 1/2 way. Wipe off that same brush and go back in with the color Neptune and brighten the outer part of the eye and bring the color in past the Boo Berry. You don’t want to cover up the Boo Berry just use the Neptune to intensify the color. Run the Neptune under the entire length of the eye.Use a fluffy dome brush to blend out any harsh lines. Use the color White Lies to feather the color and as a highlight under the browbone. Line the lower waterline with a white liner, here the artist used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Use a blue eyeliner like Electric or a darker blue of your choice to create a dramatic winged liner on the top eyelid. Curl your lashes and add a good mascara, here Maybelline ROCKET was used. Add a pair of accent lashes to the outer part of the eye to give the eye an even more winged effect. Here, Ardell Accent Lashes #318 was used.

Ideal for the hot summer months, this cool, colorful combination is sure to have electrifying effects on everyone around you! To recreate this look, take a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush and gently place the color Corrupt on the outer part of the eye using circular motions allowing the color to go slightly above the crease and bringing the color in. Wipe off the brush and go in with the shade Nautica and place over the black and feathering in 1/2 of the way. Place the same blue shade under the outer 1/3 of the eye. With the same brush, apply the color Sensuous above the crease using it to blend out any harsh lines from the previous shades. Make sure to keep the majority of the color on the outer part of the eye allowing it to fade as it comes inward. Use Sensuous to line the under the eye coming in the rest of the way. Use a clean fluffy brush to blend out any harsh lines on the upper eyelid. Use a flat brush to gently pat on Shimma Shimma over the rest of the lower lid. Create a winged effect on the upper eyelid with Lime Crime’s eyeliner in Lazuli. use a white liner on the lower waterline, here the artist used the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. To finish, curl your lashes and add a lengthening mascara.

This hot summer look is complimented by the cool blue tones of the ocean. Together they make a look that is sure to intrigue all those around you. Begin by using a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Soft Dome Brush and sweeping the color Vanilla Bean over the entire eyelid. Using a flat brush, like the MUG Eye Shader Brush. place the color Mango Tango over the outer 1/2 of the eye coming up slightly past the crease. Next, use a smaller dome brush and place the color Chickadee over the outer corner of the eye and blend inward and use the color to blend out any lines left by the Mango Tango. Use a fluffy brush to blend out any harsh lines. Use the MUG Outer V Brush to apply a small amount of Cocoa Bear to the outer v part of the eye and give depth to the look. Use a smudger brush to apply a small amount of Bada Bing over the outer part of the lower eyelid coming in 1/3 of the way. Use the color Appletini under the eye coming in very little. Follow up using Mermaid and then use Neptune under the rest of the eye. Pat the color Poolside over the lower waterline of the eye. For the dramatic winged liner, used the gel liner in Electric and create a winged liner on the upper lash-line. Bring the liner to a point on the inner corner creating a sort of “beak”.  Curl your lashes, add mascara and a pair of wispy lashes like the Ardell False Lashes #110.

Hello Makeup Geeks! Can you believe it’s already the second installment of our Idea Gallery for this year? This month our Idea Gallery lit up with creativity and technique. From bold, modern looks, elegant neutral looks and romantic Valentine’s Day inspired looks, we had the pleasure of seeing it all. We also were honored to see unique designs that left us wowed from the moment we saw them. So whether you are looking for the perfect look for a day at the office, a romantic look for an evening with that special someone, or a dramatic look that will leave lasting impressions, you are sure to find what you want here.

This sweet Valentine’s look is perfect for that date with your special someone or just when you feel like pampering yourself. this look is not just perfect for Valentine’s Day but for anytime of the year. Using all Makeup Geek products begin with the color Bitten and place on the outer and inner 1/3 of the eye leaving the middle of the eye open. We will be creating a snow-globe or sandwich effect with this look. Use a combination of Shimma Shimma and Bling and add gently pat it on the center of the eye in the open space. Make sure to blend the lines where the shadows meet so this will have a gradient effect to it. To create a sort of three dimensional look, go back over the inner and outer part of the eye where you placed Bitten and pat a small amount of Purple Rain making sure not to completely cover the previous shade. Use the shade Burlesque to blend out any harsh lines left behind. Run the same purple shade under the entire length of the eye. Add a small amount of Burlesque under the eye over the purple but making sure not to completely cover the purple. Using the gel liner in Immortal, create a dramatic winged liner on the upper lashline and fill in the upper and lower waterlines. Pair this look with a set of romantic lashes for a look that is sweet as you are.

This simple and stunning look is perfect for that all important first date, or a day at the office when you want to add a perfect pop of color. Here that artist used Sleek palette but we will give you some Makeup Geek alternatives to recreate this amazing look. Begin by patting a matte white like White Lies on the lower lid and feather the color up above the crease making sure there are no harsh lines. Next, go in with a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and blend a soft brown like Mocha in the outer part of the eye and blend up into the crease making sure to keep the majority of the color in the outer part. Make sure you blend out any lines left behind. Now go in with a soft green like Makeup Geek’s Shimmermint or the gel liner in Mystic, and smudge the color under the length of the eye. Add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner and top it off with your favorite mascara to complete the look.

Valentine’s Day Colorful Smoky Eye by Loredana

This smoldering look is sure to win a few hearts every time you wear it. Using a black liner place the color along the lashline ad use a small dome brush to blend the color upward until it’s feathered out. Here the artist used MAC’s eye pencil in Ebony but you could use a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean or any black pencil liner that moves well. Once the color is blended out use a flat still brush like the Makeup Geek Eye Shader Brush, and pat the color Razzleberry over the black making sure the color stays below the crease. Next, go in with a small pointed crease brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush, and use the color Corrupt into the crease and run along under the eye as well making sure to connect the top and bottom at the edge of the eye. Now go in with a matte color close to your skintone, here the artist used Beaches and Cream and use under the browbone and as a highlight. The key to any perfect smokey look is to make sure the colors are well blended and the colors create a gradient effect on the eyes. Use a purple or black eyeliner and line the lower waterline of the eye. Add your favorite mascara or set of dramatic lashes to complete this sultry look.

Dark Wine by sasphotos

This timeless  and breathtaking look is stunning and elegant at the same time. To create this look use a combination of Cupcake and Cinderella and sweep the color on the lower lid and blend upward using a fluffy dome brush. Run the same combination of colors under the eye coming in 1/2 to 3/4 of the way. This should be a soft effect with no harsh lines. Take the same brush or a smaller one if you have smaller eyes, and lightly feather Burlesque onto the outer part of the eye making sure to keep the color light and well blended. Add the color White Lies to the browbone as your highlight. Use Shimma Shimma in the inner corner to open the eyes and make them appear bigger. Use a liquid liner to create the winged effect, here the artist used Revlon Colorstay Liquid liner in Black. Curl your lashes and maybe add a pair of Ardell Accent Lashes to give the eyes an even more winged effect. To get those dramatic and stunning lips the artist used a combination of two MAC lipsticks, Velvet & Veruschka. You can use any deep wine matte shade or combination to achieve this glamorous color.

This unique and beautiful color combination was an unexpected surprise. To achieve this amazing look begin by patting White Lies over the lower lid of the eye going slightly into the crease of the eye. Next, use Neptune and fill in the outer 1/2 of the eye. Now go in with a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and use the color Boo Berry and place the color in the outer v part of the eye and blend up into the crease of the eye. Extend the color out at the end creating a sort of winged effect with the shadow. Use the shade Peacock to blend out any harsh lines left behind. Wipe off that same soft dome brush and smudge the colors Dirty Martini and Fuji under the entire length of the eye. Now go in with the shade Lemon Drop and apply to the inner “peak” of the eye and over the edge of the greens you placed under the eye. Use the gel liner Immortal to create a clean, thin line close to the lashline and line the upper and lower waterlines as well. Curl your lashes and add a couple of coats of your best mascara to finish this colorful and cool look.

This sexy and sultry smokey eye is the perfect way to add color to your smokey look. To begin this amazing look, place a matte white like Makeup Geek’s White Lies on the inner 1/3 of your eye and in the inner corner. Next, pat a bright pink of your choice over the next 1/3 of your eyelid bringing the color up slightly past the crease. Make sure to blend the lines where the white and the pink meet. Using a fluffy dome brush and the color Purple Rain, blend the color on the outer 1/3 of the eye and up above the crease allowing the color to fade as you bring it in. Make sure to keep the majority of the color on the outer part of the eye. Use the color Wisteria to blend out any harsh lines left from the Purple Rain. Go back in with White Lies and use as a highlight under the browbone. Smudge a small amount of Corrupt under the eye going in to where your lashes begin. Use the same black to darken the outer v portion of the eye to add depth to your look. Use Immortal to create a dramatic winged effect on the top eyelid making sure the black on the bottom of your eye connects with the top wing and line the upper and lower waterlines of your eyes. If you have trouble achieving a crisp edge, use a piece of scotch tape on the end of your eye. For an added pop of color, place Mermaid under the eye beginning at the inner part and going in slightly past the Corrupt. Add your favorite pair of dramatic lashes and mascara to finish this colorful smokey look.

Happy Valentine’s Day! by Loredana

For all our creative and expressive Muggies out there, this one is for you. This amazing Valentine’s Day look is a more expressive way to show the love on that special day. If recreating this striking look is something that you want to do begin by using a liquid liner to draw the heart shapes onto the eye. Here the artist used L’Oreal Lineur Intense Liquid Liner in Carbon Black. Once you have the shape you desire go in with the the shades Flamepoint, Dollipop and Bulletproof to fill and the heart. Remember, this look is all about blending and shading. Make sure to feather your colors out thoroughly and so you have an overall gradient effect. Line the upper lashline with a black gel liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal and the upper and lower waterlines. Place a small amount of the pink Under the inner 1/3 of the eye and then place a shimmery shade like Shimma Shimma under the rest of the eye. You can use the same shimmery color on the inner part of the eyelid to open the eyes and make the appear larger. Go back in with your liquid liner and add dots to the inner corner of the eye onto the pink and also in the heart itself. Add a pair of fun lashes and mascara for a look that is both fun and stunning. This would also be ideal makeup for the Queen of Hearts costume or any costume party.

Valentine’s Day: Pink & Purple Sweetheart Makeup by Meredith Jessica

This sweet pink and purple look is ideal for when you want a softer, more romantic look. Using Makeup Geek products, this charming look is one that you will find yourself coming back to time and time again. To begin this look apply NYX Eyeshadow Base in white, or you can use the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Using windshield wiper motions, apply Cupcake to the crease with a fluffy dome brush. Using the same brush, place Twilight under where you placed the previous color keeping the majority of the color concentrated on the outer part of the eye. Then repeat the same process only this time beginning at the inner corner and keep the most of the color on the inner part of the eye. This will give you a Snowglobe or Sandwich effect to the eye. Using a small pencil brush, use the color Sensuous and draw small a small v shapes on the outer and inner corner of the eyes making sure to blend the colors out well. You may need to go back in with your pencil brush and define your crease with the color that is left on your pencil brush. To add some depth to the look, go in with the same pencil brush and very small amount Corrupt and darken the inner and outer parts of the eye where the Sensuous was placed. Start off using very little and then go back and add more if needed. Wipe off the pencil brush VERY well or get a fresh one and use Sensuous under the eye on the inner and outer 1/3 leaving the middle part open. Apply Twilight under the entire length of the eye making sure the colors blend together seamlessly. Place the color Shimma Shimma on the upper lid in the middle area that is left open and to the inner corner as well. For the highlight under the browbone, use a color close to your skintone, here the artist used Vanilla Bean. For the lower waterline line the eye with the gel liner in Cottontail, if you prefer you can use a flesh toned color. Line the upper lashline with Immortal and follow the natural shape of the eye. Curl your lashes and add a pair of romantic false lashes and mascara for a sweet look everyone will love.

This timeless look is ideal for a day when you want a soft elegant look. Just leave off the rhinestone heart and you have a sweet look that is ideal for the office or anytime. To begin, use the Flat Shader Brush and gently pat the color Gold Digger over the entire lower lid coming up to the crease area. Using a fluffy brush, apply a soft brown like Latte in the crease and blend out with a fluffy dome brush. Run the same color under the entire length of the eye blending it so you have a soft wash of color. Use the color Glamorous to blend out any harsh lines and soften the color bringing the Glamorous in toward the inner corner past the brown. Use Immortal gel liner to create a winged effect on the upper lashline and line the lower waterline with Cottontail. If you don’t like to use white you can use a flesh-toned color. Place a small amount of Shimma Shimma in the inner corner of the eye to open and brighten. If you want to add the rhinestones you can find these heart shaped stickers at your local craft supply store. Curl your lashes and place a pair of soft, romantic lashes on your eye. Use a couple of coats of your best mascara to complete the look.

Emerald With a Pop by Maryam-Maquillage

This smokey look shows how well opposite colors can work in harmony when used correctly. To begin this look start by apply a green base to the eyes. Here the artist used NYX’s Jumbo Pencil in Rocky Mountain Green over the lower lid and blend the color out with your finger bringing it up slightly past the crease. Use a flat stiff brush to apply a black shadow to the lower lashline followed up by Makeup Geek’s Envy. Apply the Envy to the outer third of the lid. Use the edge of the brush to outline the crease. Clean off the same brush very well and apply Mermaid to the rest of the lid, focusing on the center making sure to blend the lines where each color meets. With a small rounded contour brush blend out the edge of the crease using a matte green shade. Here the artist used Lime Crime’s Jade-O- Lade. Use Vanilla Bean on a stiff angled brush to highlight the brow bone and blend the transition color. Add Shimma Shimma to the inner corner of the eye to open the eyes. Use a bright pink pigment on a small detailing brush to outline the lower lash line and extend the wing. The artist here used LA Splash Mineral Powder in Hula Hula. Line the waterline with an emerald eyeliner and add a pair of dramatic lashes for an eye-catching look.

Smokey Green by Silje Beate

This elegant look is easy to recreate and uses all Makeup Geek products. Begin by patting the color Poison Ivy over the lower lid with a flat stiff brush like the Makeup Geek Eye Shader Brush. Bring the color up slightly past the crease blending out any lines with a fluffy dome brush. Using a crease brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush, apply Mocha to the crease dragging the color inward but concentrating the color on the outer part of the crease. Run the same color under the eye coming in 1/4 of the way. Wipe off that same brush and go in with the shade Latte and repeat the same process using this as a sort of transition color and run this color under the eye beginning where the Mocha ended and bring it to to where you lashes begin. Make sure you blend out any lines so this flows from one shade to the next, these should blend together seamlessly. Use the shade Beaches and Cream to blend out he color and as a highlight under the browbone. Blend the colors Bling And Shimma Shimma and add to the inner corner. Line the outer part of the lower waterline with a brown liner like Mobster coming in 1/3 of the way and the rest of the waterline with a flesh toned liner. Line the upper lashline with Immortal creating a flick at the end of the eye to give a slight winged effect. Now all that’s left to do is curl your lashes and add a pair of lashes and your favorite mascara for a completed look.

This is the perfect brown smokey eye! While everyone seems to gravitate toward black for smokey eyes we sometimes forget the impact that a great brown smokey eye can have and how easy this can be. To begin, pat on the color a brown color like Brown Sugar over the lower eyelid coming in 1/3 of the way. Next, go in with a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and place the color Bada Bing over the rest of the lower lid and drag the color into the crease slightly. Smudge the same dark brown under the entire length of the eye making sure to smoke the color out slightly. Use the Outer V Brush and the color Corrupt to darken the outer v portion of the eye and add depth to your look. Now go in with a fluffy dome brush and the color Glamorous and blend the color above the brown. Use a color close to your skin tone as a highlight under the browbone. Line the upper and lower waterlines with the gel liner in Mobster, curl your lashes and add mascara for a classic brown smokey eye.

This galaxy inspired look’s blending techniques are amazing! Using bright, bold colors the artist captured the heart of the galaxy on not only her eyes but her lips as well. Sugarpill’s Loose Eyeshadows have the perfect amount of shimmer to create this striking look. Begin by placing Royal Sugar to the inner 3/4 of the lower lid feathering the color up above the crease slightly. Next, go in with the color Hysteric and a pointed crease brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and blend the color on the outer 1/3 of the eye and up into the crease to meet the blue. With a fluffy brush use the color Decora and place above the blue but not bringing it in all the way, you want this to remain on the outer 1/2 of the eye. Place a shimmery white like Lumi above the pink as a highlight under the browbone. For the under eye run the same bright blue under the inner 1/2 of the eye followed by the bight pink under the outer 1/2. Line the waterline with a white liner like Makeup Geek’s Cottontail. this will help the eye look brighter and more open with all the shimmery, bright colors. Add a touch of the Lumi in the inner corner. Line the upper lashline with Immortal and create a winged effect. For the lashes. Add a pair of dramatic upper and lower lashes to finish the eyes. For those over the top lips, line 1/2 of your lips with a blue lip liner. You can also use a electric blue eyeliner. Then line the bottom and top lips on the right side with an electric blue lipliner, you could also use an eye liner and then the left side of your bottom and top lips with a bright purple filling them in as you go. You basically want your lips to have a gradient effect that flows from blue to purple. There are a lot of purple and blue lipsticks on the market these days so you can find them. If not just use the eyeliners and carefully coat with a clear gloss.

Next, go in with a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush and blend the color Envy onto the outer 1/3 of the eye and drag the color into the crease feathering the color up slightly. Make sure you blend out any harsh lines. use a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush and the color Poison Ivy and feather the color above the Envy making sure to buff out any lines left behind. Use a color close to your skin tone as a highlight under the browbone. Line your upper lashline with Immortal and wing the end slightly. Smudge a small amount under the eye and liner the upper and lower waterlines. Add a pair of soft wispy lashes and mascara to finish this elegant look.

OK Makeup Geeks, it doesn’t get any easier and more stunning than this. To achieve this eye-catching look, apply a bright matte purple like Sugarpill’s Poison Plum over then entire lower lid making sure you don’t come into the crease area. Extend the end of the eye with the purple in a cat eye shape. You can go back in with a Q-Tip and lean up the lines to get them just the way you want them. Apply a gold glitter liner such as NYX’s Glitter Liner in Gold to the upper eyelid and create a slight winged effect making sure not to extend past the purple. Line your lower waterline with a white eyeliner like Cottontail or a nude shade if you prefer. Then, all that’s left to do is curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.

Begin by patting a matte bright blue like Makeup Geek’s Neptune over the lower eyelid coming in 3/4 of the way and making sure to stay under the crease. Using a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush, add a matte black like Corrupt to the outer v of the eye and blend slightly into the crease bringing it in 1/2 to 3/4 of the way making sure to blend our any harsh lines from this. Use a matte white like White Lies for the rest of the eye and in the inner corner of the eye as well. Smudge a small amount of Corrupt under the eye 1/3 of the way and then follow up using a green metallic green like Envy. If you want to give this a more metallic look try mixing it with a mixing medium like FACE Atelier Transforming Gel. Now for the glitter! Pat on LA Splash glitter glue over the blue color. With a flat, stiff brush apply a blue glitter like Eye Candy Glitter in Sour Blast or LA Splash Glitter in Oceana.  Line the upper and lower waterlines with the gel liner in Immortal and add a pair of fun accent lashes and your best mascara for a festive look everyone will love.

This bold and vibrant look is not for the faint of heart. This dramatic Valentine’s Day inspired look is sure to catch the attention of that someone special.  To get this striking look begin by sweeping the color Razzleberry on above the crease blending the color out very well using the Makeup Geek Crease Brush. Wipe off that same brush really well and go in with the color Cupcake and blend above where you placed the Razzleberry using Cupcake as a transition color and to feather out any harsh lines. Use a color close to your skintone as a highlight under the browbone. Go in with a pointed brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and define the crease using Moondust. Place this only in the crease and don’t blend the color out to much. You want to be a defined line in the crease area. Now go in with a flat, stiff brush and a pale gold shade like Bleached Blonde and place on the entire lower eyelid. Use the gel liner in Immortal to create a thick black line on the upper lashline and wing the end out slightly. Place the same black under the outer 1/3 of the eye creating a wing on the bottom as well but leaving a space between the upper and lower “wings” Place a small amount of Cottontail in between the two wings. Use the gel liner in Poison and line under the rest of the eye. Curl your lashes and add a pair of flirty lashes if you choose and finish off with a great mascara.

This dazzling blue and black look is perfect when you want to be a little more daring! Using a combination of Makeup Geek and Sugarpill products, the artist here created a remarkable look especially for your brown eyed babes. To begin create a line in the crease of your eye using a small detail brush and Corrupt. Using a small, flat brush pull the color upwards slightly. You are basically going to be creating a cut crease for this look. Once you have the line defined, go in with Sugarpill’s Bulletproof and place about the cut crease and feather out the color making sure to let the color fade as you move it upward. Use Vanilla Bean or a color close to your skintone as a highlight under the browbone. With a flat, stiff brush place Sugarpill’s Afterparty on the lower lid keeping the color below the cut crease. Run Makeup Geek’s Poolside under the entire length of the eye. Now go in with LA Splash Glitter Glue and place over the blue on the upper eyelid. Pat a blue glitter like LA Splash Oceana or Eye Candy Glitter in Sour Blast over the glue keeping it under the black cut crease. You may have to go back and touch up the line in the crease. Use Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal to create a thick winged liner on the upper lashline. To complete this look add a set of fun lashes and a couple of coats of great mascara.

For all you lovers of all thngs green this look is perfect for you! This look is simple as it is just a series of colors that flow from one to the next. Begin by using a flat, stiff brush like the Makeup Geek Shader Brush and pat the color Pixie Dust over the inner 1/3 of the eye. Repeat this same process under the inner 1/3 of the eye as well. Wipe off that same brush really well and go in with the color Fuji and place in the middle of the eye going up slightly past the crease. Place the same color under the eye in the middle also. Now for the last shade, again wipe off that flat, stiff brush and use the color Dirty Martini on the outer 1/3 of the eye blending the color up slightly and placing it under the rest of the eye. Use a fluffy brush to blend out any harsh lines and use the shade Shimmermint to feather the colors out. Use the gel liner in Mystic to create the “peak” in the inner corner of the eye and liner you upper and lower waterlines with Immortal. Curl your lashes and add a great pair of lashes and mascara for a perfect green look.

This colorful look is not only amazing but simple to recreate which makes it even better! To begin gently pat a shimmery turquoise color like Makeup Geek’s Sea Mist over the inner 1/3 of the eye allowing the color to go up slightly above the crease. Wipe off that same brush hand go in with the color Nautica and place in the center of the eye making sure to pat over the area where the Sea Mist ended. This will be our transition color from blue to purple. Now go in with a deep purple with silver fleck, Sensuous and apply over the outer part of the eye feathering the color up on the end. Run the same purple shade under the entire length of the eye as well. Use a fluffy brush to buff out any harsh lines. Line the upper lashline with Immortal and create a wing on the end. Mix the same turquoise shade with FACE Atelier Transforming Gel and place over the wing part of the liner. Line the upper and lower lashlines with Immortal and curl your lashes and apply two coats of a great mascara to complete this whimsical look.

60s makeup with a modern twist + tutorial by Kristianathe

Inspired by the retro 60′s, this dazzling look is the perfect party look or for anytime you want to add a dazzling effect to your look. To achieve this amazing look we will be creating a cut crease. Begin by using a black pencil liner of your choice as long as it moves well. Line the lower lashline and then bring the color up around the edge of your eye and trace the crease. Once you have this line established go ahead and liner the waterline of your eye and under the eye coming in 1/2 of the way. Then using a flat, stiff brush smudge out the upper lashline and crease area dragging the color upward slightly. Now using an even smaller flat, stiff brush, use Corrupt and follow the crease line you created earlier. Smudge the color under the eye as well. Use a fluffy brush to blend the edges a bit. Wipe off that brush and go in with a matte grey like Stealth and use as a transition color above the black. Repeat this process using the a matte color that’s close to your skintone like Beaches and Cream. Use clean fluffy brush to gently blend the colors together. Place a shimmer pigment on the lower part of the lid with a small, flat, stiff brush making sure to keep the color under the cut crease. Here the artist used Glamour Dollz Eyes Pigment in Dirty Jeans. Add a highlight to the inner corner of the eye, the artist used Beauty From the Earth pigment in Beautiful. Pat LA Splash sealer/glue on over the pigment below the cut crease of the eye. Using a small, flat brush place a silver holographic glitter over the lower lid making sure to keep it below the cut crease. The glitter that was used here was MAC’s 3D Silver Glitter. Now create a slight wing on the upper lashline using a liquid eyeliner and create an extended “peak” in the inner corner of the eye. To keep the look dramatic add a pair of lashes to the upper and lower lashes and add mascara.

This amazing look is one we had to look at twice to make sure we were seeing it correctly. Were it not for the fact her teeth are showing you would believe this is an eye. This artist used her lips to create a spectacular display of creativity and technique by achieving a sort of 3D effect on her lips. From everything to the lashes, the addition of a touch of eyeshadow above the lips, the shading and the detail of the iris, this remarkable creation is one we are proud to show off.

This first installment of the Idea Gallery for 2013 started off remarkably with impressive looks that wowed us! There was nothing missed for this month, from soft, subtle washes of color that left dramatic impacts, to vivid shades that made lasting impressions. Inspired by the start of a new year and endless possibilities, our artist showed outstanding technique and ability when creating these astonishing looks. Regardless of whether you are looking for a dramatic night look, or a graceful day look, you are sure to find it here.

Sleek Respect #2 by Dressed-in-mint

This soft yet striking look is ideal for anyone who wants to add a touch of class to their look. Begin by using NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as a base. Next, go in with a soft pink shade like Makeup Geek’s Cupcake and place on the lower lid and blending up past the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Darken the crease up slightly by adding a touch of soft brown like Makeup Geek’s Mocha to the crease lightly. Go back in with the color Cupcake to blend out any harsh lines and create a soft effect by blending the color out. Now for the glitter, go in with a good glitter glue like the LA Splash Glitter Glue and a glitter of your choice. We recommend LA Splash in Gaudy. Use a black gel liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal to create a thick winged liner on the top as well as the bottom making sure not to connect the two and leave an open space on the top and bottom. Smudge out the liner slightly under the eye to create a smokey effect. Add a touch of glitter on the outer part of the eye in the space between the upper and lower liner. Add a pair of feathery lashes to complete the look.

This simple and stunning look is ideal for a day at the office or a night out. Here the artist used all Makeup Geek products to achieve this incredible look. Begin by placing Ice Queen to the inner 1/3 of the eye going up slightly past the crease. Use Latte on the next 1/3 of the eye the same as you did the previous shade and follow up with the shade Mocha. Make sure to blend out any harsh lines from the colors. Run Mocha under the eye smudging the color for a smokey look. Use Corrupt to darken up the outer v portion of the eye  using a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush. You may have to go back in with Mocha to blend out any lines and achieve a soft gradient effect. Use Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal lo create a very fine line on the top of the eyelid and line the upper and lower waterlines. Add a soft pair of natural lashes, or curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara for a finished look.

The contrast between colors makes this look stand out as one everyone loves. Using Makeup Geek products, begin by placing Mango Tango on the lower lid blending the color up slightly past the crease. Next, go in with the shade Taupe Notch and blend the color above the crease area making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Run the same color under the eye smoking the color out with the color Burlesque.  If needed, use a color close to your skin tone to blend out the lines. Darken the outer v part of the eye with Corrupt. Add a touch of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner of the eye to open the eye and make it appear brighter. Liner the outer 1/3 part of the eye lid with Immortal keeping the color close to the lashes. Line the upper and lower waterlines as well. Add a pair of feathery lashes and your favorite thickening mascara to make the look complete.

Inspired by the colors found in nature, this striking look is a great addition to our gallery. Using Makeup Geek products, begin by placing Shimma Shimma on the inner 1/3 of the eye and run the color under the lower 1/3 of the eye as well. Go in with the shade Dirty Martini and place over the next 1/3 of the upper lid making sure to blend where to two colors meet to avoid any harsh lines. Repeat the same process using the color Envy for the rest of the eye and run the color under the eye until it meets the Shimma Shimma. Use Mocha in the crease to feather the colors out. Make sure there are no harsh lines from the Mocha as well. Darken the outer part of the eye with Corrupt and run a line of the color into the crease keeping the line crisp. Use a small amount of Shimma Shimma under the brow bone as a highlight. Use the gel liner in Immortal to create a thick winged line on the top of the eye. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara for a complete look.

A Little Bit of Warmth by Joanna

This soft green look is the ideal way to add some color to your look without being to dramatic. Begin by placing Ice Queen on the inner part of the eye and blending inward. Run the same color under the inner part of the eye coming in 1/3 of the way. Next, go in with the color Dirty Martini and gently pat the color over the rest of the lower lid coming up slightly past the crease and blending out any harsh lines. This should be a soft wash of color. Go in with the shade Envy and place over the outer 1/3 of the eye the same as you did the previous color. Use the color Latte in the crease and apply a light wash of color using a fluffy blending brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush. Make sure to blend out the lines. Place the same color under the eye coming in to where the Ice Queen begins. Add Shimma Shimma under the brow as a highlight. Use a small amount of Corrupt to darken the crease area. You may have to go back with your fluffy brush and blend the colors. Curl your lashes and add a great mascara for a simple yet stunning look.

This stunning blue look is perfect for the cooler weather and easy to do. First, go in with a combination of Makeup Geek’s White Lies and a small amount of Poolside and pat over the inner 1/3 of the eye going up slightly past the crease. Next, go in with Poolside alone and apply over the next 1/3 of the eye going up slightly past the crease like you did before. Use a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush to blend out any harsh lines. Now go in with the color Corrupt and place on the outer 1/3 of the eye. Use a small amount of the Poolside to blend out any harsh lines from the Corrupt. Use a combination of Corrupt and Poolside and run the color under the eye. Line the upper and lower waterlines with Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal and add a pair of wispy lashes to finish the look.

Frozen eyes by choccolate91

Proving that it doesn’t take a lot to create stunning looks, this striking look only uses a few Makeup Geek colors and looks stunning. Begin by placing Ice Queen in the inner corner and blend inward slightly. Next, go in with the color Mermaid and place over the rest of the lid bringing the color up slightly past the crease. Go in with a matte black, here the artist used Iglot AMC #62 but you can use Makeup Geek’s Corrupt, and place on the outer 1/3 of the eye and feather up slightly into the crease. Use a soft dome brush like the Makeup Geek Soft Dome Brush to feather out any harsh lines. Run the same black under the eye and trace over the edge with Makeup Geek’s Neptune for a pop of contrast. Line the upper lashline and upper and lower waterlines with the gel liner in Immortal. Curl your lashes and add your best mascara to complete the look.

Eye Candy by Loredana

This stunning and dramatic eye is for our more dramatic MUGS. To create this look look the artist here used Inglot products but we are going to give you some great Makeup Geek alternatives. To begin, use NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk as a base. This will help the brighter shades show up more and pop off the eyes.  Mix Makeup Geek’s Pixie Dust and Fuji and apply to the lower lid staying below the crease. Use a deep teal shade like Peacock on the inner corner of the eye. Apply this gently as not to darken the look of the eye. Apply Razzleberry to the crease and blend up with Lemon Drop making sure there are no harsh lines. Highlight the browbone with White Lies. Place Razzleberry under the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye making sure to leave an open space in the middle. Place the same 2 green shades in the middle of the lower eye and line the lower waterline with a deep green liner. Add a pair of dramatic feathery lashes and a deep black mascara to finish.

This sweet look has the perfect pop of pink for Valentine’s Day or anytime you want to let your sweet side show. Using Makeup Geek eyeshadows, place Shimma Shimma on the inner 1/3 of the eye feathering the color upward slightly. Next, go in with a stunning pink shade, Sugarpill’s Dollypop would be ideal here. Place this color over the next 1/3 of your eye. Using a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush, go in with the color Mocha and place over the outer 1/3 of the eye and blend the color up into the crease. Run the color under the eye stopping where your lashes begin. Use Purely Naked to feather out any harsh lines left from the Mocha. Add a color close to your skintone as a highlight under the browbone. Go in with the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush and the color Corrupt and darken the outer v portion of the eye to add depth to the look. Smudge a small amount of Corrupt over the Mocha you placed under the eye but not covering it completely. You may need to back and add some Shimma Shimma to the inner corner. Use the gel liner in Immortal to create a winged liner on the upper lid and to line the upper and lower waterlines. Curl your lashes and 2-3 coats of your favorite mascara.

This fun and festive look is perfect for adding some warmth to these cooler months. This striking look uses all Makeup Geek products.  The key to this colorful and creative look is blending. Making each color flow effortlessly from one shade to the next and creates a gradient effect that gives this look its astonishing finish. This look uses all Makeup Geek products and are as follows: Appletini, Beaches and Cream, Chickadee, Duchess, Latte, Manderine, Mango Tango, Mermaid, Neptune, Sea Mist, Sensuous and White Lies along with the gel liners in Mystic and Electric which creates the winged effect on the upper lid.

Reggae by Majka

Bold and flirtatious, this sizzling look is perfect for our bolder Makeup Geeks. Sugarpill cosmetics would be ideal to achieve this look. To begin place the color Midori on the inner 1/3 of the eye making sure to leave the inner corner blank. Blend the color up slightly past the crease. Next, go in with the shade Buttercupcake and gently pat the color in the middle of the eye making sure to cover the line left from the previous eyeshadow. These should flow from one color to the next without any harsh lines. For the outer 1/3 of the eye, go in with the shade Flampoint and place the color. With a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush, use the color Love+ and blend the color onto the outer v part of the eye and up into the crease feathering the color upward. Make sure to blend out any harsh lines using the Flampoint. Follow the same pattern for under the eyes as well. Use a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush and place a small amount of Tako, a matte white shade, in the inner corner to lighten the eyes and open them up. Use a black liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal to create a winged liner on the upper lashline. Curl your lashes and add a good mascara or a pair of festive lashes to finish the look.

This stunning look is both elegant and easy to recreate. Using all Makeup Geek products, begin by using the gel liner in Amethyst as a base for the eyeshadows. Using a fluffy brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush, sweep the Amethyst over the lid and going slightly above the crease. Smudge the same color under the eyes as well. Go in with Unexpected and place the color on the inner 1/3 of the eye. Follow up by using the shade Wisteria and placing in the middle of the eye making sure to blend out any lines where the colors meet. Run the same shade under the eye over the gel liner you already placed. Use the shade Galaxy on the outer 1/3 of the eye and blend inward keeping the color on the outer part of the eye. Smudge the color under the eye on the outer 1/3. Use the color White Lies to blend out any harsh lines left from the Galaxy and place a small amount in the inner corner as well. Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal. For a look that is flawless, add a pair of wispy lashes to the look.

This sultry and smokey look uses just enough glitter to make this the perfect look for a party. Leave off the glitter and you have a stunning look for anytime. We will be giving you Makeup Geek alternatives to achieve this look. To begin this look place a small piece of scotch tape along the outer part of the eye. This will help create that crisp, sharp edge you see here. First, go in with the color Shimmermint and pat the color over the lower lid using a flat, stiff brush like the Makeup Geek Eye Shader Brush. Next go in with the fluffy brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush and the color Mocha and feather a small amount into the crease blending the color up slightly making sure to avoid any harsh lines. Using a stiffer brush such as the Makeup Geek Stiff Dome Brush, pick up the color Envy and run the color along the edge of the tape feathering the color inward over the outer 1/3 of the eye and into the crease but not covering the Mocha. Run the same color under the lower lashline as well.  Slowly remove the tape from your eye and use a brown liner like Makeup Geek’s Mobster to create two “flicks” at the end of the eye. Add a small amount of Bling in the inner corner of the eye and blend inward slightly. Now for the fun part! Go in with a gold glitter of your choice, we recommend LA Splash in Renaissance, and pat it gently in the inner corner and under the eye over the brown. Use a gold glitter liner like NYX in Gold to add some sparkle to the brown “flecks” you created at the edge of the eye. Line your upper and lower waterlines with Immortal, curl your lashes and add a pair of accent lashes to the outer part of the eye for added drama.

Poison Berry by ilovemyaddiction

Captivate everyone around you with this stunning play on colors. Here the artist used a BH Cosmetic Palette to create this look but we will give you some Makeup Geek alternatives so you can achieve this remarkable look. Begin by patting on a light green like Makeup Geek’s Pixie Dust onto the inner 1/3 of the eye making sure to stay below the crease area. Next, go in with Poison Ivy and place on the rest of the eye feathering the color up slightly past the crease. Take a small dome brush like the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush and use Corrupt to darken the outer 1/3 of the eye. Use a fluffy brush to blend out the edges and avoid any harsh lines. Run a bright purple like Makeup Geek’s Wisteria under the eye coming in to where the lashes  begin. Create a winged liner effect on the top of the eyelid using the gel liner in Amethyst. Line the bottom waterline with the same shade. Add a pair of feathery lashes to finish this remarkable look.

Broken heart dramatic Valentine’s day + makeup tutorial by Kristianathe

Expressing her look on a broken heart this Valentine’s Day, this look is a great way to express yourself. Here the artist used a combination of various products to create this look. To begin, place a white base on the lower lid and line the lower waterline with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Use a matte white eyeshadow like Makeup Geek’s White Lies to set the base on the lid and in the waterline. Next, the artist used Lime Crime’s Fly Dragonfly on a pencil brush in the crease of the eye and blended upward slightly and going inward onto the bridge of the nose. Go in with Lime Crime’s Lotus Noir and the same pencil brush to place the black over the red but not covering it. With an angled liner brush, create a black line under the eye not directly under the lashes connecting it with the upper shadows. This will visually give the eyes a larger appearance. Wipe the brush off and go back in with the red and blend the line out slightly. Use Maybelline’s gel liner in black and create a winged liner effect on the upper lashline. Pick up the red shadow again and pat in a small line directly above the gel liner. For the top lashes use Red Cherry’s lashes #100 and for the bottom #138. Go in with LA Splash glitter glue and NYX glitter in Crystal and place over the white part of the upper eyelid making sure to get it in the inner corner and under the eye slightly. For this look you want your face to appear white. To do this, use a white base or a foundation in Porcelain. Use an angled blush brush and the red eyeshadow for your blush. To create the tears in this look, mix Glamour Doll Eyes pigment in Ladies Night, Mehron Mixing Liquid and a small amount of water. This should have a slight runny consistency to it. Place a drop under the eye directly under the lashes and press down so it runs by itself. As it runs add a small amount of water so it becomes more transparent. Create 2 “tears” on each eye. Use the same mixture to draw small hearts at the end of each line. Use purple and black liquid liners to free hand the lines along the face. Use a deep purple or black lipstick and a clear gloss for the lips. Feather the red eyeshadow into the hairline and use a white liquid liner to create the streaks. Use a black liner to trace the jaw line and fade it out slightly. Use NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean and place streaks along the neck line and blend them out then go back in with your white or porcelain foundation and blend out the rest of the neck area. Go back in with Ladies Night and set the Black Bean you smudged out. Create a stencil by cutting a heart in a piece of thin cardboard and hold it where you want your hearts to be along your neck. use a brush to stipple on the the same white or porcelain foundation in the stencil.

This sleek dramatic look gives an air of sophistication to any occasion you wear it to. To begin this smoldering look, begin by placing a NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Black Bean over the lower lid and blend the color out with a stiff dome brush like the Makeup Geek Stiff Dome Brush. Wipe off that brush really well and go in with the color Latte and blend the color into the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Next, go in with the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush, and the color Duchess and darken the outer portion of the eye and blend the color up into the crease making sure to leave the edge clean. For the inner 1/3 of the eye, go in with Gold Digger and brush the color over the black base and in the inner corner bringing the color down under the inner 1/3 of the eye. Run the color Latte under the eye where the gold leaves off to the end of the eye but making sure NOT to connect it to the upper part. With a black get liner,like Makeup Geek’s Immortal, create a “flick” where the Latte color leaves off and then line the upper lashline beginning where the black base begins and wing out the end. Make sure not to line the eye over the gold shadow. Liner the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara to finish the look.

This sultry and striking look is a ideal example of how only a couple of colors can have a dramatic impact. Using only two Makeup Geek eyeshadows this remarkable look is simple to recreate. Begin by using the shade Gold Digger on the inner 1/2 of the eye using a flat stiff brush like the Makeup Geek Eye Shader Brush. Bring the color down under the the inner part of the eye 1/3 of the way. Next, use the intense black color Corrupt and pat the color on going up slightly past the crease. Run the same black color under the eye coming in to where the gold begins. You may have to go back in with the Gold Digger and brighten the color. Use a fluffy dome brush to blend out any harsh lines on the eye making sure not to move the color up. Add a small amount of Shimma Shimma in the inner corner to open the eyes. Line the upper and lower waterlines with an intense black liner like Immortal. Add a pair of your favorite lashes and your darkest mascara to intensify the look.

Holiday Lights by Maryam-Maquillage

This sparkling look is ideal for any party or special occasion. Here the artist used a combination of different products to create this festive look. Begin by placing a white line along the edge of the brow suing a white liner or NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk. Blend the color out with your finger. Go in with Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean and an angled brush to set the white line. Now apply Spellbound from Lime Crime to the same part of the eye to add shimmer. A good substitute for this would be Makeup Geek’s Shimma Shimma. Using a fluffy dome brush, use the shade Wisteria under the brown shades. You are basically using this as a transition between the highlight and the crease. Using a smaller dome brush, go in with the color Love Potions #8 from Lime Crime and place in the crease of the eye. Go back and forth between the two shades until you get the desired color intensity. Apply NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Purple to the lower lid making sure not to get any on the shadow you previously placed. Use you finger or a small brush to feather out the color. Use Lime Crime’s Divination and place over the base you just applied. Go back in with Wisteria and clean up the outer part of the eye and to blend out the crease. Use a pencil brush and Drama Queen by Makeup Geek and darken the outer v portion of the eye. Line the bottom of the lashline with Prestige liner in Masquerade and set with Love Potion #9 by Lime Crime. Use Drama Queen to the outer part of the line to darken the look. Line the upper lashline with Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in Black Shimmer and create a winged effect. Use a flat stiff brush to gently pat on the glitter. Here the artist ued Lit Cosmetics in Boogie Nights. Use Lime Crime’s purple liner in Orchidaceous in the inner corner of the eye and pat the glitter over it. Line the lower waterline with a flesh toned liner and add your favorite pair of party lashes to finish the look.

Inspired by the stunning princess Jasmine, this look is ideal for that late night carpet ride with your prince. To create the clean line, place a piece of scotch tape from the outer corner of the eyes to the temples on both sides.  Using a combination of Ben Nye pigments in Cosmic Blue and Pink Opal along with Makeup Geek and Sugarpill eyeshadows. This sultry blue look is sure to attract the look of everyone around you. This look is perfect for a costume party or for those of you who love to have fun with you makeup. The other colors used her by our artist include Makeup Geek shades in, Corrupt, Nautica, Neptune, Poolside, Shimma Shimma, Unicorn, and Sugarpill’s Mochi and Velocity.

A dramatic cut crease has never looked so amazing! If this look is something you covet then begin by creating a black cut crease with Makeup Geek’s Corrupt extending it past the inner corner onto the nose and past the eye to the temple. Use the same black to draw your “flames” above the cut crease and from the temple extending down past the outer corner of the eye. Fill in each one using your favorite oranges, reds and browns. Remember, the key to a look like this is shading and blending. Make sure to blend the lines together where each different color begins so the colors have a gradient effect to them. Add a gold glitter to the eye to add depth and sparkle to the look. Create a dramatic winged liner on the upper lashline with a intense black liner like Immortal extending it toward but not up to the temple and then under the outer part of the lower lashline coming in 1/3 of the way. Bring the color into the inner corner in a sort of “beak”. Create a matching cheek using the same orange shade you used on your eyes. For those striking lips, line your lips with a black and drag the color inward leaving the inner part of the lip blank. Add a dark red to the inner part of the lips and finish by adding a layer of your gold glitter over the red area.

This sweet Valentine’s look is perfect for that date with your special someone or just when you feel like pampering yourself. this look is not just perfect for Valentine’s Day but for anytime of the year. Using all Makeup Geek products begin with the color Bitten and place on the outer and inner 1/3 of the eye leaving the middle of the eye open. We will be creating a snowglobe or sandwich effect with this look. Use a combination of Shimma Shimma and Bling and add gently pat it on the center of the eye in the open space. Make sure to blend the lines where the shadows meet so this will have a gradient effect to it. To create a sort of three dimensional look, go back over the inner and outer part of the eye where you placed Bitten and pat a small amount of Purple Rain making sure not to completely cover the previous shade. Use the shade Burlesque to blend out any harsh lines left behind. Run the same purple shade under the entire length of the eye. Add a small amount of Burlesque under the eye over the purple but making sure not to completely cover the purple. Using the gel liner in Immortal, create a dramatic winged liner on the upper lashline and fill in the upper and lower waterlines. Pair this look with a set of romantic lashes for a look that is sweet as you are.

Bitten Mocha by MakeUpLoveZz

This sensational look is perfect for anyone who loves to add color to their makeup routine. The artist here used all Makeup Geek products. If you are uncertain about the blue liner, simply change it out for a smudged brown. Using a combination of the colors Bitten and Burlesque, apply the colors in the inner 1/3 of the with a stiff dome brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush and bring the color into the crease all the way out to the end of the eye. Make sure to feather the color slightly upward. Next, go in with a fluffy dome brush and blend the colors out using Razzleberry making sure to avoid any harsh lines. Wipe that same stiff dome brush off really well and go back in with Mocha and add to the outer part of the eye blending the color into the crease. You may have to go back with Bitten and Burlesque to blend out any harsh lines. Use a matte white as your highlight under the browbone, here the artist used Tako from Sugarpill. Add the color Gold Digger in the center of the eye. For a pop of color, use Poolside under the eye coming in to where the lashes begin. Use Corrupt, a intense black shadow to create a winged liner on the upper lashline. Curl you lashes and add your favorite mascara or a pair of fun lashes to finish.

Sunset over the sea by ilovemyaddiction

Inspired by the vivid colors created when the sun sets over the sea, the clean lines and use of colors makes this look one we loved. Using a combination of Makeup Geek and Inglot products, this look is sure to be one you will love. Being by patting Inglot #318, a matte white. over the entire lower eyelid and in the inner corner of the eye. Next, go in with Inglot #439, a purple, and a pencil brush and go along the upper lashline and around the ocular bone or eye socket, coming in half way making sure the color fades as it comes inward. Wipe off that same brush and go in with Inglot #372, a matte turquoise, and place it where the purple ends and bring it in the rest of the way not coming into the inner corner. With a small tip brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush, feather in the color Mango Tango by Makeup Geek above the purple. Using a fluffy dome brush, take the shade Yellow Brick Road and place above all the colors making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Go back in with your purple shade and create a winged line at the end of the eye extending it up quit a bit. Place the same purple under the eye on the inner and outer 1/3 creating a crisp “beak” at both ends. There should be a space between the liner on the outer part of the eye. Use the turquoise shade and place it under the eye in the middle of the purple shades. Now for the fun part, use a small amount of glitter or lash glue and add 3 small crystals to the end of the eye bewtween the purple lines and one under the middle of the eye where the turquoise color is. Lastly, place one on the inner corner to add pop of shimmery fun.

Spring Violets by Michelle Correa

The perfect purple eye never goes out of style and this astonishing look is a perfect example. Begin by using a soft purple like Makeup Geek’s Wisteria on the lower eyelid and blend upward past the crease feathering the color out. Next, go in with Sugarpill’s Poison Plum and place on the outer 1/3 of the eye and blend into the crease. You may have to go back with Wisteria to blend out any harsh lines or to add some color if you lost it. Choose a color close to your skin tone to blend out any harsh lines ans as a highlight under the browbone. Use a small amount of Corrupt and the Makeup Geek Outer V Brush and darken the outer v portion of the eye. Run Poison Plum under the entire length of the eye. Place a shimmer like Shimma Shimma in the inner corner to open the eyes and give them a wider appearance. Create a winged effect on the top of the eyelid using the gel liner in Immortal and liner the upper and lower waterlines. To complete the look, add a pair of your favorite lashes to the look.

The month of December saw a variety of shades and techniques come together to create soft washes of elegant color, to bold, daring looks.  Neutral eyes were brought out by using pops of vivid color. And stunning technique was used to create striking looks that wowed us! There was no shortage of creativity and beauty for December. Under each image, we’ve also included some tips for each look to give you an idea on how to achieve it

Smoke by Joanna

This striking smokey silver look is accentuated by the perfect pop of purple. Using Makeup Geek eyeshadows, the artist here began by placing Mercury on the lower lid and blending up past the crease area. Blend the color out with Beaches and Cream or a color close to your own skin tone. Next, go in with the color Corrupt and darken up the outer v of the eye and blend slightly up into the crease. Bring the same black under the eye coming in 1/3 of the way. To add a pop of color to the look, go in with a soft purple like Wisteria and place under the eye where the black ended and come in to where you lashes begin. To add some sparkle to the look, use a glitter like LA Splash glitter in Gaudy on the inner corner and blend down below the lashline and bring the glitter up slightly.  Line the upper and lower waterlines with a black like Makeup Geek’s Immortal and add your best lashes to finish the look.

Lilac Look by makijazowo21

This stunning purple shade is done only using a few Makeup Geek products. Begin by sweeping our gel liner in Amethyst over the lid go up to the crease area but making sure not to go into the crease. Using a fluffy dome brush like the MUG Crease Brush, blend out the line from the gel liner.Use the shade Unexpected on the outer v part of the eye and blend the color up slightly into the crease making sure to blend out any lines left from the Amethyst. Now go in with the  shade Peach Smoothie and blend the color in the crease bringing it up slightly making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Place Amethyst under the eye and then run over the edge with Peach Smoothie. Use Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal to create a winged line on the top of the eye and to line the upper and lower waterlines of the eye. Add your favorite lashes and mascara to finish the look.

Arabic Make-Up by MarilynMUA

This striking look is ideal for those of you who crave a little more drama. To begin, place a piece of scotch tape on the back of your hand and remove a few times to get rid of any excess glue. Place the tape at the end of the eye making sure to get a smooth line, this will help create the crisp edge. Go along the edge of the tape with a dark purple shade like Makeup Geek’s Duchess and feather the color inward keep the majority of the color on the outer part of the lower lid and in the crease. Go in with a soft purple like Wisteria and place along the rest of the lower lid overlapping the line where Duchess ended. Use Peach Smoothie to blend above the purple making sure to erase any harsh lines. This should look like a gradient effect blending from one shade to the next. Place a shimmer color under the brow bone such as Bling or Shimma Shimma. Use a combination of the Bling or Shimma Shimma and Wisteria in the inner corner and blend upward.  Gently remove the tape and clean up any lines with a Q-Tip. Use a black like Corrupt to create a line under the eye extending out past the eye. You can use a credit card or business card to help achieve this sharp line. Smudge the black out with a dark green shade like Envy creating a point with the green on the inner corner. Use NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk or Makeup Geek’s Cottontail to fill in the gap between the ends of the eye. Line the upper lashline and upper and lower waterlines with Immortal. Curl your lashes and add your best mascara. Keep the cheeks and lips soft by adding soft washes of pink over both. NYX’s blush in Pinched and lipgloss in Beige would be ideal for finishing this dramatic look.

Brown Cateye by Stjima

This brown cat-eye is easy to recreate with stunning effects. Begin by placing a matte taupe shade like Taupe Notch from Makeup Geek on the lower lid and bring the color up past the crease. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines.  Next, go in with a soft matte orange like Chickadee and place a small amount above the taupe color blending out the color. you want this to be a soft wash of color, nothing strong or to dramatic. Use a dark matte brown such as Mocha to darken up the outer corner and blend slightly into the crease. Line the upper and lower waterlines of the eye with a black liner like Immortal and smudge the color under the lower lashline. Line the top of the eye and create a winged eyeliner at the end of the eye with two additional “wisp” at the end.  Curl your lashes and add a good mascara to top it off.

Chocolate with Pistachios by makijazowo21

This soft look is the perfect example of how pops of color or glitter can add drama to any look. Here the artist used Makeup Geek products to create this amazing look. Begin by placing Mocha on the lower lid and blend upward going slightly into the crease. Use a softer shade such as Purely Naked to feather out any harsh lines and create a gradient effect. Use a black gel liner like Immortal to create a winged line on the top of the eye. Use a gold glitter like LA Splash in Renaissance and gently pat over the winged liner. Next, go in with the color Fuji and smudge the color under the entire eye extending a little past the wing liner on the top of the eye. Line the upper and lower waterlines and add a pair of feathery lashes. With so many color options to use under the eye this is a look you will come back to over and over.

New Years Eve Makeup (Kim Kardashian Vegas Shoot look ) by Siham.Y

This soft and subtle look is simply striking. Ideal for a day at the office, or a night out, this is sure to become a quick favorite. Here the artist used the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette to create this look but we will give you some Makeup Geek alternatives as well. Using Verve from the UD Naked 2 palette, place the color Verve on the lower lid making sure to stay below the crease. Next, go in with Snakebit and a small flat brush like the Makeup Geek Detail Eyeshadow Brush and trace the crease of the eye, almost creating a cut crease. Sweep the color upward slightly to get rid of the harsh line. Go in with a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush and use the color Tease from the palette to blend out any harsh lines.  Place Busted under the lower lashline and smudge the color slightly. Use Bootycall in the inner corner to lighten the eyes and open them up. Place Foxy under the browbone as a highlight. Darken the crease up using the color Blackout from the palette and line the lower waterline with a flesh toned liner. Create a bold line on the upper lashline and add a pair of dramatic lashes to complete this look. (Makeup Geek alternatives: Mercury, Bada Bing, Brown Sugar, Creme Brulee, Vanilla Bean, White Lies)

Purple Leopard by MadamNoire

This is for our more dramatic Muggies. This daring look is ideal for finishing off a costume, or for those of you who like to take their looks to the next level. Place a piece of scotch tape on the outer part of your eye to create a dramatic, crisp line. The artist here used all Makeup Geek products to achieve this striking look. Begin by using the gel liner in Immortal over the lower lid blending the edge out slightly. Gently pat the color Corrupt over the black base to intensify the color. Above the black, use the shade Sensuous as a transition color. Go in with a bright, matte purple like Sugarpill’s Poison Plum and place over the Sensuous and blend until you get the desired gradient effect. You may have to go back and add more Poison Plum and keep blending until it looks just right. Use the shade Wisteria from Makeup Geek as a highlight under the browbone and blend downward. Gently remove the tape and clean up the lines with a Q-Tip. Line the lower lashline with Immortal and pat Corrupt gently over it. Trace over the edge with the Poison Plum shade.  Place a gunmetal shade glitter like Sugarpill’s Stella over the lower part of the eyelid making sure to stay below the crease. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.  Now to create the Leopard spots, use a liquid liner and draw “spots” on your upper eyelid. Make these “c” shaped spots or uneven round circles and place small dots in between the spots. Fill in the spots with the same glitter you used on your lower eyelids to finish.

A stunning and perfect example of a dramatic black cut crease, this look is for anyone who wants to be noticed.  To begin, draw a black line right above the crease bringing the line in to the inner corner with a deep black eyeshadow like Corrupt or with a pencil eyeliner. With a small flat brush like the Makeup Geek Detail Eyeshadow Brush, drag the color upward slightly. Use a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Pointed Crease Brush to blend a grey shade such as Galaxy above the black making sure to feather out any harsh lines. The key to a great cut crease is to make sure the original black line is intact with no smearing or smudging with a good shape. The rest of the eye should have a gradient effect to it. Use a color close to your skintone like Beaches and Cream on the browbone as a highlight. Place the same color on the lower lid. You may have to go back with the small brush and touch up the black cut crease. Use a Q-Tip to clean the line and make it crisp. Use an angled eyeliner brush and draw a black line under the eye away from the lashline. Use the same small detail brush and draw the color down slightly allowing the color to fade. Make sure and keep the lines on the inner and outer part crisp and to a point. Use a black gel liner like Immortal to create a winged liner on the upper lashline. Add a pair of dramatic lashes and your favorite mascara.

Tropical HoliDAZE by Maryam-Maquillage

For those of you who want to show off your more artist side, this remarkable creation is just for you. Using Lime Crime product, this daring look is one that is sure to get attention. Begin by placing Lime Crime’s black eyeshadow in Lotus Noir over the eyelid and feather the color upward past the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Smudge the same color under the lashline as well. Use a shade close to your skin tone like Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean or Beaches and Cream to blend out the line from the black and as a highlight under the browbone. Use a black gel liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal to create a winged line on the upper lashline. Next, the artist used Lime Crime’s Uniliners in 6th Element (orange), Citreuse (yellow) and Lunar Sea (white) and a Prestige liner in teal, to create the lines and dots shown.  For the inner corner, use the black liner to draw a “peak” and fill in with your choice of color. Remember, this is an abstract look, so no ones will be the same. Use your imagination and have fun!

Sensual Cranberries by makijazowo21

This amazing look is a ideal example of how to colors on opposites ends of the spectrum can work well together. The artist used all Makeup Geek products to create this beautiful look. If you want to recreate this, begin by gently patting the shade Bitten over the lower eyelid stopping using a flat, stiff brush like the Makeup Geek Eye Shader Brush. Bring the color up to the natural crease. Use a fluffy dome brush such as the Makeup Geek Crease Brush to feather the color Latte into the crease and in the outer v part of the eye. Use a color close to your skintone like Beaches and Cream to blend out any harsh lines and under the browbone. Now is where you get to add your favorite pop of color. To keep the eyes vibrant, the bright blue color Neptune was smudged under the eyes coming in all the way. Line you upper lashline with black gel liner such as Immortal and the upper and lower waterlines. Finish by adding a pair of your favorite lashes.

This lovely look is ideal for those who want to add a little depth to their look. Begin by placing a dark blue like Makeup Geek’s Nautica on the outer 1/2 of the eye bringing the color up past the crease. Feather the color inward slightly but make sure not to cover up the inner 1/2 of the eye. Use a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Soft Dome Brush to blend out the color and any harsh lines. The key here is to blend, blend, blend, there should be no harsh lines to this look. Place the same dark blue under the eye coming in 1/2 of the way. Next, go in with a shimmery shade such as Bling and pat the color on the inner 1/2 of the eye making sure to overlap the blue. By overlaping the blue with the white you create a soft blue shade which gives this look a wonderful gradient effect. Go in with a gold eyeliner, or a gold eyeshadow like Gold Digger and place on the inner 1/2 of the lower lashline and the inner 1/2 of the upper lashline. Curl your lashes and add you favorite mascara to complete the look.

Inspired by the sweet gingerbread of the holidays, this gorgeous look is a treat for the eyes. Here the artist used Makeup Geek product to create this lovely look. Begin by using the gel liner Mobster as a base over the lower eyelid. Gently pat the color Mocha over the lower lid over the base. Use the shade Cocoa Bear in the crease and blend out any harsh lines with a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Crease Brush. Use White Lies on the browbone as a highlight shade and Ice Queen in the Inner Corner to add some shimmer to the look. Line the upper and lower lashlines with Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal and smudge out the lower lashline. Go back in with Mocha and smudge the color under the lashline over the Immortal. Next, take a vivid white liner and trace above the black liner creating a winged effect. Line the upper and lower waterlines and a pair of your favorite lashes. To recreate the buttons on our favorite holiday cookies, add a few gems under the eye

Inspired by the colors of Christmas, this striking look uses vivid liner and bold shades to make a stunning statement. Begin by a white shimmer like Bling or Shimma Shimma on the lower lid coming up to the crease. Use a soft, neutral shade such as Unexpected in the crease and make sure to blend the color out avoiding any harsh lines. Place Beaches and Cream under the browbone as a highlight. If you want to add some sparkle to the look, use LA Splash glitter in Gaudy over the lower lid keeping it below the crease. Remember, you want to keep the eyelid soft so the liner can be the attention graber. Use Makeup Geek’s Poison and create a winged line on the upper lashline. For the bottom, use the eyeshadow Envy and draw a straight line across the bottom of the eye and blend the color downward slightly. Make sure to keep the line straight and don’t follow the curveture of the eye. Add a fun pair of lashes for a festive look.

Olivine by ilovemyaddiction

This sweet, subtle look is ideal for day time or anytime you want to let your sweet side show. Begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Corrupt onto the outer 1/2 of the eye and blend inward coming up past the crease area. Run the same black uner the eye coming in 1/2 to 3/4 of the way. Use a soft pink such as Cupcake and place on the rest of the lower lid. Go in with a brighter pink like Sugarpill’s Dollipop and place in the crease where the Corrupt left off. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines above the colors with a fluffy dome brush like the Makeup Geek Soft Dome Brush. Place a gold shade like Gold Digger in the inner corner and under the lower lashline where the Corrupt left off. Line the upper lashline creating a winged effect. Line the upper and lower waterlines and add a soft pair of lashes for a finished look.

A perfect purple eye, this is great for you green eyed gals. Beging by placing a white shade like White Lies over the inner 1/3 of the eye. Then go in with Last Dance and place over the outer part of the eye and blend upward into the crease area. Use a darker purple like Duchess in the crease and blend the color out. With the color Unexpected, blend out any harsh lines left from the purple shades. Add a pop of White Lies in the inner corner to open the eyes and make them look bigger. Line the upper waterline with Makeup Geek’s Immortal creating a dramatic winged line effect. Go in with the liner Amethyst and place a line diretly above where you created your winged liner. Line the lower waterline of the eye and extend the line out past the waterline into the inner corner. Curl you lashes and add you favorite mascara to complete this look.

Violets by MakeUpMG

For all our lovers of bright colors, this look is one you are sure to love. To create this spectacular look. begin by placing a bright blue like Makeup Geek’s Neptune over the inner 1/3 of the eye. Use a purple like Purple Rain on the outer 1/3 of the eye slightly bringing the color up past the crease and blending out any harsh lines. Place Unexpected in the crease as a transition color and to feather out any lines left by the previous colors. Use a soft matte white like White Lies under the browbone as a highlight. Go back to the middle of the lower lid and add a shimmery gold to the center to add some warmth to the look. Using the same blue and purple as before, create a straight line across the bottom of the eye making sure to keep the line straight and pull the color down slightly. Add a fine line of black liner like Immortal to the upper lashline and add your favorite lashes. For the cheeks, use a soft peach/pink shade like NYX Tipsy and your favorite purple lipstick to finish this bold look.

The Voice with a Twist by MakeUpLoveZz

Inspired by the Christina Aguilera, this bold look is perfect for a night on the town or at the club. First, place a piece of scotch tape on the outer edge of the eye to create the crisp edge. (make sure to put the tape on the back of your hand and remove a few times to get rid of the excess glue) Begin by placing a silver cream base like Makeup Geek’s Twinkle over the lower part of the eye making sure to stay below the crease. Use a dark brown like Bada Bing on the outer part of the eye along the tape and blend the color into the crease. Feather the color out using a lighter brown like Latte making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Use a color close to your skintone as a highlight under the browbone. If you want to darken the crease of the eye, go in with a small amount of Corrupt. Carefully remove the tape from your eye and clean up the line with a Q-Tip if needed. Liner the lower lashline with Immortal and extend the line out past the outer eye into a “beak”. Use a small amount of Cottontail by Makeup Geek and a small, flat brush like the MUG Detail Eyeshadow Brush and fill in where the eyeshadow ended and the liner is. Now it’s time for the glitter, go it with a good silver glitter like LA Splash Trance and pack the glitter on the lower eyelid where you placed the Twinkle. Line the upper lashline and the upper and lower waterlines and add some dramatic lashes.

From soft looks perfect for the day, to dramatic looks ideal for a night out, there is something here for everyone. Ombre Liner by Joanna

A perfect example of how simple can be beautiful, this simple ombre liner look is amazing. Here the artist used Makeup Geek product to achieve this striking look. Begin by placing a soft wash of Beaches and Cream over the entire eyelid. Next, go in with a white liner like Cottontail and place it on the inner 1/3 of the eye. Next, go in with a soft blue color (you can actually combine a small amount of Cottontail and Fame to get the perfect shade) and line the next 1/3 of the eye. Finish up with the rest of the eye with the color Fame and wing out the liner. Line the bottom of the eye with Makeup Geek’s Immortal and use Mystic in the waterline. Curl your lashes or add your favorite ones for a simple and elegant look.

Arabic makeup look using MUG eyeshadows! by Siham.Y

With its green hues, this look is ideal for the upcoming holiday season. To create the crisp line at the edge of the eye, place a piece of scotch tape on the back of your hand and remove a couple of times to get rid of a lot of the adhesive. This will keep it from removing any face makeup you may have already applied. Using Makeup Geek eyeshadows, begin with the color Poison Ivy and pat over the lower lid. Go in with Mocha and place in the outer v and blend up into the crease slightly making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Now go in with the color Corrupt and define the outer v and bring into the crease making sure not to cover the Mocha that was previously placed. Use a combination of Bling and White Lies as a highlight shade. Use Corrupt under the eye and line the upper and lower waterline with a black liner like Immortal. Use your favorite pair of dramatic lashes to finish the look.

Inspired by Pocahontas, the artist here used all Makeup Geek products to achieve this striking look. Begin by placing Poolside on the lower lid bringing the color up slightly past the crease. Use a fluffy brush and the shade Cocoa Bear above the Poolside and use it to blend out any harsh lines. Make sure to blend this out as well. Go in with a combination of Burlesque and Corrupt and darken up the outer portion of the eye. Use Beaches and Cream as a highlight and place White Lies in the inner corner to open the eyes. Place Cocoa Bear under the eye coming in to where you lashes begin. Run a small amount of Corrupt over, but not covering the Cocoa Bear coming in 1/2 – 3/4 of the way. Use Corrupt or Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal to wing out your liner. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara or your favorite pair of lashes to complete the look.

Autumn Inspired by ilovemyaddiction

This exquisite look is a great example of how something can be simple to do with amazing effects. To recreate this look place a light green color like Makeup Geek’s Shimmermint on the inner 1/3 of the eye and blend up slightly past the crease. Next, go in with a brighter green such as Appletini and bring it up like the previous color. Lastly, go in with a dark brown like Bada Bing and place it on the outer 1/3 of the eye and bring it slightly up into the crease. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines left from the brown shade with a fluffy dome brush. Use a color close to your own skintone as a highlight. Run the Shimmermint under the bottom of the eye coming in all the way making sure to place it in the inner corner as well. Bring Bada Bing over the green coming in 1/2 of the way. Wing out your liner on the top, line your upper and lower waterline and add your favorite lashes for a completed look. You could also switch this look up to make it even softer by using brown liner instead of black. Add a pair of lashes and you are all set.

This dramatic look is sure to become on of your favorites the same way it did ours. Using a combination of NYX, MAC and Makeup Geek, this look is sensational. Begin by using NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Pure Gold to the lower lid and blend out. Next, apply MAC’s Woodwinked (you can also use Makeup Geek’s Glamorous) over the NYX pencil. Place Makeup Geek’s Drama Queen to the outer v portion of the eye and bring up slightly into the crease making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Use White Lies as a highlight under the browbone. Use Shimma Shimma on the inner corner to open the eyes. Run Drama Queen under the eyes coming in 1/2 of the way and smudge out the color. Use Corrupt to define the outer v and under the lashline coming in 1/3 of the way to add depth to the eyes. Use a white or flesh toned liner on the waterline to make the eyes appear bigger. Use a gel liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal to line the upper eyelid and add some dramtic lashes to tie the look together.

Romantic Gold & Teal Makeup Tutorial by Meredith Jessica

This is the perfect example of how using pops of brilliant color can transform a look. Here the artist used all Makeup Geek products to achieve this look. Apply Bleached Blonde to the lower portion of your lid staying below the crease. You may have to apply a couple of layers or until you get your desired color.  Blend the color Creme Brule through the crease of the eye. Next, go in with NYX’s Black Bean and a thin brush and fill in the outer v of your eye bringing it down slightly under the eye as well. Go in with Cocoa Bear and work it over the black you just placed and blend until it becomes a warm red/brown color. Use Yellow Brick Road all along the brow bone. Use Vanilla Bean as a highlight just under the browbone. Apply Bling to the inner corner of your eye to help open it up. With a small brush, apply Sea Mist to the outer 1/2 of your lower lashline. Add Mermaid to the inner 1/2 of your lower lashline. Use Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Mobster on the lower waterline and on the upper eyelid creating a slight wing. Using a smudging brush, apply Bada Bing over the liner and smudge the color out bringing it slightly into the outer v. Curl your lashes and apply a pair of wispy lashes to complete the look.

Chestnuts Roasting by bitterstarlite

This amazing purple creation garnered a lot of attention on our FB page and with good reason. This remarkable look uses all Makeup Geek products and is easy to recreate. Begin by patting Purple Rain on the inner part of the lid coming in 1/2 of the way. Next, go in with Sensuous, and place the color on the rest of the lid and blend the color up into the crease. Use the shade Bada Bing above the purple and blend the color out slightly. Next, go in with Taupe Notch and feather out any harsh lines left from the previous colors. Use Vanilla Bean, or a color close to your skintone as a highlight under the browbone. Use Corrupt to darken the outer v part of the eye. Run the color Sensuous under the eye bringing the color in the entire way. For the inner corner, use a combination of Unexpected and Shimma Shimma and sweep the color in just a little over the Purple Rain. Curl your lashes and add a great mascara to finish the look.

This elegant look’s dramatic liner caught our attention right away. Begin by placing a shimmery light shade like Makeup Geek’s Shimma Shimma on the inner 1/2 of the eyelid. Next, go in with Cocoa Bear and place it on the outer part of the eye and blend it slightly into the crease. Go in with a black, here the artist used MAC’s Carbon but you can also use Makeup Geek’s Corrupt and darken the outer v part of the eye. Use a shade like Mango Tango above the Cocoa Bear and blend the color, make sure not to bring the color to far up. Use Cupcake directly above the Mango Tango to feather out any harsh lines making sure the color doesn’t go to far up also. Place White Lies in the inner corner of the eye making sure to bring the color down below the inner corner as well. Now for that liner, create a winged effect on the upper eyelid like normal. Extend the line into a point in the inner corner of the eye and bring it up where it meets the lower waterline and stop. Run the Mango Tango under the eye bringing it in to where your lower lashes begin. Smudge black over the Mango Tango, not covering it up coming in 1/2 of the way. Add black to the water line coming in 1/2 of the way also. You want to make sure you do NOT connect the liner from the top to the bottom. There should be an open space left there for the white color to show. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara to complete the look.

This is a perfect example of how to wear blue no matter what your eye color is! The artist here used the Urban Decay Vice Palette to obtain this amazing look. Begin by using the color Anonymous from the palette on the inner 1/3 of the eye. Next, take the color Chaos and place the color over the rest of the lid. Use the shade Blackmarket to darken up the outer v and blend slightly into the crease without taking the color up to far. Smudge this color under the eye as well. Blend the color out using the shade Muse, making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Use a color from the palette that’s close to your skintone as a highlight. Using a black gel liner like Immortal, create a winged liner on the upper eyelid. Using a white liner like Makeup Geek’s Cottontail, create a crisp white line at the edge of the eye extending the color past the wing of the black liner. Inspired by the vivid colors of fall, this striking look is amazing! Using a combination of Sugarpill and Makeup Geek products the artist truly showed off her amazing creativity. Begin by using Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake on the inner 1/3 of the eye keeping the color below the crease. Next, go in with Flamepoint and place the color over the next 1/3 of the lower eyelid. Go in with Sugarpill’s Love+ and use it on the outer v and blend slightly into the crease. Feather the color out using Makeup Geek’s Bitten. Use a combination of Yellow Brick Road and Ice Queen by Makeup Geek for the highlight under the browbone. Add Ice Queen to the inner corner as well to help open the eyes. With Corrupt, line the top of the eyelid creating a fine line and then wing the color upward at the end of the eye. Use MAC’s Humid under the entire length of the eye. Line the upper and lower waterlines and add your favorite pair of lashes.

This is another spectacular example of how using pops of color can make amazing eyes. Here, the artist used a combination of Makeup Geek gel liners and eyeshadows to create this remarkable look. Begin by using the gel liner in Rave as a base blending the color up slightly past the crease. Next, go in with the eyeshadow Prom Night and pat it over the base color keeping it on the lower part of the lid. Use Latte in the outer v section of the eye to add some depth to the look. To blend the color out, go in with Beaches and Cream and feather out any harsh lines. Use the color Shimma Shimma as a highlight under the browbone. Use the gel liner in Fame to line the waterline and then set it with the eyeshadow in Ocean Breeze. Use the eyeshadow in Mermaid and run it under the eye coming all the way and add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner. Curl your lashes and add mascara to complete the look.

This charming look is a stunning example of how soft shades can be dramatic. Begin by placing a piece of tape to the outer part of the eye to create the crisp line at the edge. If you don’t want to do this you can always go in with a Q-Tip and some makeup remover and create the liner afterward. Pat the color Shimma Shimma on the inner 1/3 of the of the eyelid bringing the color up slightly. Next, go in with the soft pink shade Cupcake and place the color over the rest of the eyelid. Go in with Corrupt, and place the color on the outer 1/3 and blend the color up into the crease. Make sure to blend the crease out keeping most of the color on the outer part of the eye. Go back in with the color Cupcake and use to feather out any harsh lines above the Corrupt. Run the color Cupcake under the eye as well. Now go in with Ice Queen and use as a highlight under the browbone and in the inner corner and run under the pink you placed under the eye. Smudge a small amount of Corrupt under the eye making sure not to cover up the pink and white you previously placed. Use a black liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal on the upper eyelid. Curl your lashes and add a good mascara.

Summer Lights by claudiaguillen

We loved this colorful eye and the use of brown to soften the look. Here the artist used BH Cosmetics 88 Color Tropical Matte Palette. We will give you some Makeup Geek alternatives to use to achieve this fun and exotic look. Begin by using Makeup Geek’s Lemon Drop on the inner 1/3 of the eye coming up, but not going past the crease. Next, pat on a bright orange like Mandarine over the next 1/3 of the eye. Make sure you feather out the lines from where one color ends to where one begins. You want this to have a gradient effect. the next shade you need is a bright pink, Sugarpill’s Dollipop would work great, or just use any bright pink you have on hand and fill in the rest of the lid. Go in with Bada Bing and darken up the outer v part of the eye and bring it slightly into the crease stopping half way. Run that same dark brown shade under the eye to where your lashes begin. Use a lighter brown like Mocha to blend out any harsh lines and bring it the rest of the way toward the inner corner. Use a color close to your skintone as a highlight. Line your upper and lower waterline and add your favorite wispy lashes to finish.

Vampire´s Love by Zuzana

This dark look is perfect for a night out on the town. Here, the artist used Zoeva 88 Eyeshadow Palette but we will give you some Makeup Geek duplicates to use. Begin by gently patting Makeup Geek’s Purple Rain or Duchess onto the lower lid. Run the same color under the lower lid as well coming in to where you lashes begin. Next, go in with Burlesque and darken the outer corner and bring the color up slightly into the crease area. Make sure to only bring the color into the crease 1/2 way. Use the same color under the eye making sure not to cover up the purple shade that you used previously. Use the shade Fairytale where the Burlesque left off and bring the color the rest of the way in. Use the color Bitten to feather out any harsh lines left by Burlesque. Use a color close to your skintone as a highlight if you need to. Line the upper and lower waterlines, curl your lashes and add your mascara.

This is a gorgeous example of how only a few shades can make such a dramatic impact. The artist here used mostly Makeup Geek products to obtain this amazing look. Begin by softly patting the shade Dirty Martini on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye bringing it slightly above the crease. You want to make sure you leave the very center of the eye open. Repeat the same process for under the eye as well. Go in with the color Gold Digger and pat the color in the center of the eye making sure to pat over the lines left from the Dirty Martini. Do the same thing for under the eye as well. Use the shade Shimmermint to feather out any harsh lines. Use a brown liner like Makeup Geek’s Mobster in the upper and lower waterlines. Use a green liner like the Makeup Geek’s Mystic to line the upper lashline. Add your favorite pair of dramatic lashes to complete the look.

Blue Smokey Eye by Cecilie Alstad Olsen

For all you blue lovers out there, this one’s for you! The artist used mainly Makeup Geek products with a little assist from Sugarpill also. Begin by using Poolside on the entire lower eyelid staying below the crease. Apply Boo Berry in the crease feathering the color upward. Use Sugarpill’s Mochi or any light turquoise to blend out any harsh lines left from the Boo Berry. Go back in over the Boo Berry with the shade Nautica making sure not to get it onto the light turquoise color. Use a matte shade like Beaches and Cream, or one close to your skintone, for the highlight. Run the light turquoise under the inner 1/3 of the eye, then use Poolside and place the color under the rest of the eye. Go back over the outer 1/3 of the under eye with the shade Nautica. Take a mixture of Corrupt and Nautica to darken the crease and add depth. Use a combination of White Lies and Ice Queen to add to the inner corner of the eye. Now go in with the gel eyeliner from Makeup Geek in Fame to create a dramatic winged liner on the upper lashline and also in the lower waterline. Curl your lashes and add your mascara or a pair of spikey lashes for a finished look.

This dramatic cut crease is simply striking. To begin, place a piece of scotch tape on the outer corner of the eye. This will create the crisp edge you see here. Go in with a small, flat brush and a dark purple shade like Makeup Geeks Duchess and create a line right above the crease area. Use the small brush to drag the color slightly upward. Use the same small, flat brush and with Corrupt place the color along the edge of the tape on the outer part of the eye and blend it inward below the purple coming in 1/2 of the way. You may have to go back and touch up any of the purple color you lost. Use the color Purely Naked to blend out the color slightly. Use a soft pink like Cupcake as your highlight.  No go in with the matte color White Lies and apply this on the lower lid under the cut crease. Bring the white in 1/2 of the way and fill the rest in with the shade Cupcake. Run Duchess under the eye coming in all the way. Add some Corrupt and bring it in to where your lower lashes begin but not covering the purple. Add White Lies to the inner corner. Use a black gel liner like Immortal to create a dramatic winged effect on the upper lashline extending the wing to the purple cut crease. Curl your lashes and add mascara to tie the look together.

Gold Glitter Eyes by makeupbyritz

We loved this look for the upcoming holidays and we know you will also. Using MAC products the artist created a stunning look. We will offer some Makeup Geek alternatives as well. Begin by placing a piece of scotch tape on the outer corner of the eye to achieve the crisp edge. (remember to place the tape on your hand and remove it a few times to remove a lot of the adhesive) Begin by patting MAC’s Woodwinked or Makeup Geek’s Glamorous over the lower part of the eye staying below the crease.  Next, go in with MAC’s Embark or Makeup Geek’s Bada Bing and run the color along the outer part of the eye along the tape to the crease and gently feather inward keeping the majority of the color on the outer part of the eye. Run the same shade under the eye coming in 1/2 to 3/4 of the way. Use MAC’s Brownscript or Makeup Geek’s Cocoa Bear and feather it into the crease where the dark brown left off. Make sure to feather the color out very well.  Use MAC’s Blanc Type or Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean, or a color close to your skintone as your highlight. Go back with the Woodwinded or Glamourous and place under the inner part of the eye where the dark brown shade left off. Now it’s time for the glitter, it’s best to use a glitter glue to allow the glitter to adhere and last longer. Pat the glue on making sure to stay below the crease. Use a flat stiff brush to pack on NYX Glitter in Hot Gold. To help avoid fallout from the glitter, hold a tissue under each eye as you pat it on. Line your upper lashline with a black liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal and line your upper and lower waterlines. You can always use brown in the waterlines to soften the look if you wish. Add dramatic lashes to finish the look.

This dazzling look is ideal for day or night. Using Makeup Geek products, the artist here created a stunning look. Begin by using a combination of Gold Digger and Glamorous over 1/2 of the eyelid bringing the color up above the crease. Bring the same mixture of color down under the eye 1/3 of the way. Now go in with the color Pretentious and place the color on the rest of the eyelid feather the color up slightly into the crease. Place the same color under the eye going in to where it meet the other shades. Now go in with Mandarine and gently blend the color in until it meets the gold and copper shades. Make sure to blend out any harsh lines left by the Mandarine. Use Bleached Blonde as a highlight under the browbone. Curl your lashes and add mascara or a pair of your best loved lashes.

Mysterious Art nouveau masquerade look / mask by Kristianathe

This may not be your everyday look, but the creativity and technique on this is impressive to say the least. Begin by creating a intense black cut crease with a black eyeshadow like Makeup Geek’s Corrupt and fill the lower lid in with a pale shade like Vanilla Bean. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines from the cut crease you created. Run the same black eyeshadow under the eye and line the upper and lower waterlines with a black liner. Line the upper lashline with a liquid or gel liner like Immortal. You want the majority of the black color to be under the eyes. Use a soft glitter of your choice and place it on the lower lid over the light shade and under the browbone. you can also place this on the top of the cheekbones. Curl your lashes and add mascara. This is where the fun begins, begin by using a liquid liner and trace out the design of your mask on your face. You can add as many swirls and twirls as you would like. Be creative, this design should be different for each person. Then, go in with Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Poison and add more detail to the look. Next, go in with a small, flat brush and using Corrupt add shading to the look, over the brows and around the inside of the nose to give a mask like effect. Use a gold liner to add more detail to the look and go over it with a gold glitter. Go in with Makeup Geek’s Dirty Martini to fill in some of the spaces and add depth to the look. Add some rhinestones and a pair of dramatic lashes to finish the eyes. Apply your favorite red lipstick and you’re masquerade mask is complete.

Wonder Woman inspired  by Cecilie Alstad Olsen

We love this nod to everyone’s favorite heroin, Wonder Woman! Using a combination of Makeup Geek and Sugarpill cosmetics, this look will be great for those of you who love the amazing Wonder Woman. To achieve this heroic look, begin by using Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal and a small, flat brush to create a cut crease bringing the end in right before your lashes end. You will have a sort backward “C” shape at this point. Using the same small brush, drag the color upward slightly. Apply Sugarpill’s @#$%! (yes that’s the name) over the black gel liner and blend it upward with a blending brush and then place Asylum by Sugarpill over that. Use Makeup Geek’s White Lies as a highlight under the browbone and drag it downward until it meets the red. Place NYX’s Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk on the lower lid and place a light blue eyeshadow over that making sure not to get it into the cut crease. Here the artist used Lime Crime’s Parasol. Use Sugarpill’s Tako in the inner corner of the eye. Place Lime Crime’s Goldfish along the entire lower lashline and apply Sugarpill’s Goldilux over the top of that. Line the upper lashline with Makeup Geek’s Poison and Immortal the upper and lower waterline. Set the black liner in the waterlines with Corrupt. Apply your mascara to your lower lashes and then place 3 dots of lash glue to the outer corner of the eye where you want to put your stars. Place the red stars on the lash glue and add a pair of fun lashes.

This electrifying blue look is striking to say the least. To recreate this look, place a piece of scotch tape at the end of the eye. This will help you create the sharp, crisp line. Go in with Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Electric and draw a line up the side of the tape to a point and drag the color right above the crease letting it fade as you come inward. Fill in the area with the Electric liner coming in 1/3 of the way. Use Makeup Geek’s Neptune to transition from the gel liner to the eyeshadow and then go in with Sugarpill’s Poison Plum bringing it in to the middle of the eye. Use a combination of Makeup Geek’s Shimma Shimma and Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake to achieve the gold shade and bring it in leaving 1/3 of the eye open. Use Shimma Shimma as a brow highlight and add a pop of Ice Queen to the highest point of the arch and to the inner corner of the eye. Run the blue liner under the eye and bring it in to where your lashes begin creating a small tip to the end by drawing it downward. Add a pair of lashes to both the upward and lower lashline to complete the look.

This beautiful look definitely caught out attention. To start, place a piece of scotch tape on the outer part of the eye, but this time place it right before you eyelashes end. Place Ice Queen on the inner 1/3 of the eye. Go in with Makeup Geek’s Neptune and place on the lower eyelid going up slightly along the tape creating a sort of cat eye effect. Use the color Neptune above the outer edge to blend out the color. Don’t bring this in to far as you want to majority of the color to be on the outer part of the eye. Use Unicorn to feather out any harsh lines and complete the cat eye look. Run Unicorn under the eye the entire way. Go in again with Ice Queen and place in the inner corner and above the blue shades and on the browbone. Remove the tape and run a small amount of Corrupt under the lower 1/3 of the eye extending it slightly. There should be an obvious space between the black line and the blue colors. Fill in this space with a small amount of Poolside and pat Ice Queen over it. Finish the look with a pair of full lashes.

Begin by using Shimmermint on the inner 1/3 of the eye keeping the color below the crease. Then go in with the color Poolside and fill in the next 1/3 of the eye. Use Envy on the outer corner of the eye and bring it up slightly into the crease making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Follow the same pattern for under the eyes as well. Use Corrupt to darken the outer v part of the eye. Apply Ice Queen in the inner corner of the eye and as a highlight under the browbone. Use a black gel liner like Immortal to line the upper lashline and wing the liner out slightly. Line the upper and lower waterlines of the eye as well. Curl your lashes and add your best mascara to complete the look.

This striking green look is perfect for those of you looking for a fun look for the holidays. The look is easy to achieve and only uses a few colors. Begin by placing a piece of tape on the outer edge of the eye to create the clean edge. If you don’t want to do this you can always go back later with a Q-Tip and makeup remover to make a clean line. Begin by using Makeup Geek’s Envy on the outer 1/2 of the eye and bring it up the edge of the tape creating a cat eye effect. The eye shadow should begin in the low in the center of the eye and then extend it into the cat eye shape making it wider at the edge. Run the same color under the eye bringing it in the entire way. Go in with the shade Pixie Dust and apply above the crease and blend upward, feathering the color out to get rid of any harsh lines. With a flat, stiff brush, gently pat the color Ice Queen onto the lower lid making sure to to cover any of the green colors. Also, use this shade as your highlight and in the inner corner of the eye. Use Immortal to line the upper lashline, curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.

Using Makeup Geek eyeshadows, the artist gives us a great example of a soft, wearable look. Begin by patting Cinderella on the lower lid coming in 3/4 of the way. Go in with the color Bitten and place on the outer corner and blend up into the crease. Using a fluffy blending brush, make sure to blend out any harsh lines left from the color Bitten. Use Vanilla Bean as a highlight under the browbone. With a small dome brush, place Prom Night under the entire length of the eye and in the inner corner to make the eyes look bigger and brighter. Begin by using a mixture of MAC’s Deeptruth and Makeup Geek’s Neptune and apply it to the lower eyelid coming up slightly past the crease. Place the same mixture under the eye coming in 3/4 of the way. Use the color Latte by Makeup Geek to blend out the crease and run the color over the edge where the blue is. Place the Latte under the rest of the eye where the blue ended. Now go in with Bleached Blonde and use this as your highlight under the browbone and to feather out any harsh lines left from the Latte. Use Ice Queen by Makeup Geek in the inner corner to open the eyes and make them appear bigger. Line the upper lashline and upper and lower waterline with Immortal. As a final touch, place a small amount of gold glitter on the inner part of the eyelid and under the eye making sure not to get it into the inner corner. Add your favorite pair of wispy lashes to complete a look that’s princess perfect.

For those of you who want a dramatic look, even if you are at the office this one is perfect for you. Using only three Makeup Geek eyeshadows and a gel liner, this look is nothing short of stunning. Begin by patting White Lies on the lower lid, in the inner corner and all the way up to the browbone. Place a small amount of Corrupt in the crease and blend the color out. You don’t want this to be to harsh. Bring the color in 1/2 way and then go in with the color Homecoming. Use a fluffy brush to blend the color and feather out any harsh lines. Bring this color in just past the Corrupt. You may need to go back and touch up some of the white. What makes this look impressive is the black liner. Using Makeup Geek’s Immortal, create a thick black line extending the wing out to where the Homecoming is on the eye. Line the lower lashline and connect it to the winged out liner on top. Make sure to curl your lashes to open your eyes and add mascara. For even more drama, add a pair of false lashes.

This stunning look is proof that sometimes less is more. Using only three Makeup Geek eyeshadows, the artist here show use how to create a glamorous eye that is perfect for day or night. Begin by patting Pixie Dust over the inner 1/2 of the lower lid bringing up the color slightly past the crease area. Next, go in with the shade Drama Queen and place on the outer 1/2 and blend the color into the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Bring the same color under the eye 1/2 to 3/4 of the way. Place Pixie Dust under the rest of the eye. Use Vanilla Bean as a highlight on the browbone and in the inner corner to open the eyes and make them look brighter and larger. Curl your lashes and add some great mascara to complete the look.

Our latest installment of the Idea Gallery Round-Up has been some of the most striking looks we have seen thus far. The month of October saw vibrant, bold colors combined with warm, shades all of which had breath-taking effects. With this also being the month of Halloween, we were amazed by the techniques and looks created by our Makeup Geeks. We are never disappointed and October was one of the best months we have seen, we are always impressed by the technique and quality of work our Makeup Geeks put forth.

Purple glam by MarilynMUA

This stunning eye is a perfect example of a glamorous cut crease. Define the crease by tracing the crease of your eye in black and slightly fading the color up. Add purples above to create a gradient effect.  The glitter on the lower eyelid is a perfect addition and makes this a look that will stand out. Make sure to keep the glitter under the crease area. Add a blue pop of color under the eye for definition and drama. Add a thick, winged out liner on the top to finish off this fun yet striking look.

Using all Makeup Geek Eyeshaows (Beaches and Cream, Drama Queen, Mermaid, Moondust, Neptune, Peach Smoothie, and Shimma Shimma), this artist demonstrates perfectly how color can still be soft and subtle. The key to this look is to make sure you blend the colors together where they meet so there are no harsh lines. Trade out the black liner for a vibrant blue color, here the artist used Makeup Geek’s Electric. Begin the liner in the middle of the eye and wing out the liner. By starting in the middle, you keep the eye open and the blue liner doesn’t overpower the entire eye. Add the same color to the waterline to add a little more color. Add your favorite feathery eyelashes to finish off this amazing look.

Zombie Witch by choccolate91

We loved not only the look, but the creativity and imagination of this! Using products she had on hand, this artist show off her talent by combining two looks into one amazing look.  Here the artist used red lipstick to create the line where the two looks meet. For the mole, cut lashes from a long, dramatic pair of false lashes and use lash glue to add them to the mole. This is the perfect addition to any Halloween look and is sure to be the center of attention.

Neutral glam by MadamNoire

Using mostly Makeup Geek products (Latte, Mocha, and White Lies), this artist show us how neutral can still be dazzling. Begin by creating a soft brown cut crease with Makeup Geek’s Mocha and blend the color out slightly. The cut crease along with the addition of a little sparkle is what sets this look apart from the rest. Here the artist used a glitter from Viva La Diva in Disco, but any light glitter will work. To add a touch of drama to the look, add false lashes on both the top (Ardell #105) and lower (Ardell #108) lashes. Wing out your liner and line the waterline to finish the look.

Fall trends by ilovemyaddiction

Colorful smokey eyes are always stunning! This look is a ideal example of how to create a colorful smokey eye that has depth and warmth. Be sure to blend the colors together where they meet to avoid any harsh lines. This should have a gradient effect to it. Warm it up by adding a brown color like Makeup Geek’s Bada Bing to the outer corner to keep the look soft and wearable. With so many color combinations available, this look is sure to be one you will love.

Emerald smoky by choccolate91

This emerald look is simply striking! The jewel tones of this look make it an easy pick for our monthly round-up. This is ideal for the upcoming holiday season and is easy to achieve. Make sure you choose a rich, emerald shade for this look and keep the placement below the crease. Gently blend out the crease color so there are no harsh lines. Here the artist used a pop of metallic silver under the eye to keep it open and look vivid. Add your favorite lashes to finish the look and create stunning eyes.

Sex on Fire by bitterstarlite

This striking look is for those of you who want a little more drama or when you are feeling more daring. Using Makeup Geek eyeshadows (Bada Bing, Burlesque, Cocoa Bear, Corrupt, and Purely Naked), the artist here created this bold smokey eye with amazing results. For added heat, add a red glitter such as Sugarpill’s Asylum, or or NYX’s Apple to the lower eyelid making sure to keep it below the crease area. This look is ideal for the holidays and is sure to catch the attention of everyone around you, maybe even Santa himself.

Feline by EllieSunshine

This stunning and sexy look is all about that remarkable eyeliner! Using the Naked 1 palette, the artist created a soft, subtle eye making sure to keep the colors delicate. Now for that liner. The trick to this is to do this in two parts. Apply your liner and wing out the end like you would an winged eye look. Extend the very tip of the wing out a bit further making sure to keep it very thin. For the inner corner, bring the liner in and curve in downward into a point and then draw the line back up to meet with the line underneath the eye. You may want to practice some to get the hang of this but once you do it will be something you will come back to over and over again.

This brilliant jewel-toned look is an added treasure to our Round-Up. Turquoise is a stunning color and this use of it is ideal for going out or even work. Keeping the inner corner of the eye light keeps the eye open and the addition of a blue eyeliner on the inner rim adds more drama to the look. Be sure and place the same turquoise under the eye as well to tie the look together. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara to complete this timeless look.

2 am heartbreak by Silje Beate

If you love color than this one is for you. Using the Sugarpill Heart Breaker Palette, this bold and dynamic look makes a great addition to the Round-Up. The use of cool tones makes this look great for this time of year. Make sure to blend the lines where each color meets so there will be no harsh lines and carry the same color scheme under the eyes as well. Finish off this look by creating a dramatic winged liner on the top of your eyelids and add your favorite pair of false lashes to finish this look but be ready to be the center of attention with this electrifying look.

Good Vibes by Joanna

Inspired by the warm hues of fall, this stunning look is one we are sure you will love. Using all Makeup Geeks eyeshadows (Beaches and Cream, Bitten, Cocoa Bear, Creme Brulee, Glamorous, and Gold Digger), the artist created a warm palette that is as inviting as it is stunning. The placement of gold on the inside corner keeps the eye open and looks gorgeous. Combined with soft peaches, coppers, browns and a hint of maroon red, this look is ideal for this time of year. Avoid the black eyeliner and opt for Makeup Geek’s Mobster instead to line the waterline of the eye. Add your favorite set of wispy lashes for a look everyone will love.

Autumn Sunset by choccolate91

Inspired by the warm sunsets of Autumn this look is definitely one you will love to wear. Using the Sleek Sunset palette, our artist’s take on warm sunsets left us spellbound. To make this look its best make sure to blend the lines where the colors meet so that there are no harsh lines visible. Carry the same warm-tone colors under the eye as well. What sets this look apart and makes it really stand out is the addition of blue, to represent the sky, above the crease to blend out the warm shades. Using a light blue enhances the warm shades and makes this look pop.

Burlesque by MadamNoire

This dramatic look is one that we had to add to our Round-Up. Using all Makeup Geek eyeshadows (Bitten, Burlesque, Corrupt, and White Lies), the artist here created a look that you are sure to love. To achieve this look add a touch of white to the outer and inner corner of the eye between the black liner to make it pop. Use a set of lashes (Ardell #113) on the top and on the bottom (Ardell #108) as well. This adds extra drama to the look. Make sure to blend out the the line at the top so there are no harsh lines. This look is going to be one you and those around you quickly admire.

This sweet look is one we fell in love with. Using shimmery purples, the artist created a flawless look that is simple yet so beautiful. To achieve this amazing look make sure to keep the shimmery light purple under the crease of the eye. Use a darker matte purple in the crease area, using a matte color will keep to much shimmer from being on the eyes. Create a dramatic winged liner on the top of the eye and finish your lashes to complete this beautiful look.

Black&White by iris

Don’t let this astonishing look intimidate you. This look is not hard to recreate and only uses 2 eyeshadows and some fishnet stockings. This look is perfect for New Years or any holiday party where you want to be the center of attention.  Use a piece of scotch tape on the end of your eye to create that crisp, clean line. Apply a black base like NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black Bean and then go over it with a intense black eyeshadow like Makeup Geek’s Corrupt. Add a silver shadow above the crease and blend out. Now the fun part, pull a pair of fishnet stockings over your head and, with a makeup sponge, use the same intense black to “stamp” the color on. Be gentle when removing the stockings and that’s it. Add your liner and lashes to complete the look.

Peacocky by NaturallyErratic

Peacocks have some of the most beautiful colors found in nature. This lovely look was inspired by the vivid shades found in peacocks. Using Makeup Geek products, this amazing look is easy to recreate and looks simply gorgeous. The addition of Pixie Dust to the inner 1/3 of the eye allows the eye to pop and plays beautifully against the color Mermaid. Darken the outer part of the eye with Drama Queen to add depth to the eye. Add a touch of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner to open and brighten the eyes. This look is ideal for adding a little color into your makeup routine or for when you want to be a tad dramatic.

Autumn… by makeupbyhilary

Autumn shades are everywhere and this is another stunning example of why we all love these colors. Make sure to blend where each color meets so there is no harsh line between the shades. This should look like a flawless fade from one color to the next. Some great duplicates for this look would be Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger, Burlesque and Bada Bing. Make sure to feather out the crease as well. To finish off this look, add a pair of your favorite lashes and mascara. A simple look with striking effects.

Sometimes the best way to change a look is to change the order of the eyeshadows. Most looks start off with a lighter shade and have the placement of the darker color at the outer corner for depth. Here the artist reversed this by adding the darker shades on the inner part of the eye and leaving the lighter shades on the outer most part of the eye. The result is this amazing look that we love. The key is to keep it well blended so it appears as a gradient effect and feather it out so the browns appear as warm hints of color. Bring the blue and green under the eye and line the waterline with a green as well to make the colors stand out. Wing out your liner to complete this impressive look.

Ruby/Red Riding Hood by MadamNoire

Inspired by Red herself, this simple yet impressive look is soon to become a favorite. Don’t be intimidated by the red, knowing how to use the color helps in being able to wear the shade well. First, pat a matte white shade onto the lower eyelid. Then, apply a medium/light brown in the crease as a transition color and to keep the red from going up to far. Keep the majority of the color on the outer corner of the eye and blend it in onto a white. Add a dramatic winged liner and your favorite lashes on the top (Ardell #105) and the bottom (Ardell #108) to complete this fairytale look.

Green gray cut crease by nastea20

A cut crease can be one of the hardest things to learn but once you do you get amazing results like this.  Use a black to draw a line on your eye and the blend the shade out slightly allowing the line to be very visible. Use greens to begin the gradient effect moving up the eye and bring the color under the eye as well. Add a matte grey color onto the lower lid up where the cut crease begins. Make sure you don’t get any grey on the crease itself. This look is amazing and with a little practice is one you will love.

Scorpio by MadamNoire

Scorpio’s are known for being sexy and mysterious and this look definitely has that look. This is simple to recreate but with stunning effects. The artist here used all Makeup Geek products (Galaxy and White Lies). The stand out of this look is the bold, red eyeliner also by Makeup Geek in the color Poison. Placing the red against the silver and white makes the color pop off the eye. This look is ideal for a night out or for those of you who want to add a little mystery to your look

Disco by claudiaguillen

For all you party goers out there, this ones for you! Ideal for the upcoming holidays, especially New Year’s, this remarkable look’s standout feature is the addition of glitter to the lower eyelids and under the eye as well. Don’t worry if it falls or transfers a little, that only adds to the look. Use glitter glue and then a flat, stiff brush to help pack the glitter firmly into place. For the under eye area you can use a good glitter eyeliner to make the application easier.

Gemini by MadamNoire

For all you Gemini out there, this ones for you. What you don’t see from this one picture is that just like duality found in each Gemini, this look has similar but different eyes. Using Sugarpill (Flamepoint and Poison Plum) and Makeup Geek (Chickadee and Corrupt), this amazing look is one we are sure you will love. On one eye create the look with pink on the lower lashline and orange in the crease and under the eye. To represent refection, switch the other eye up so that orange is on the lower eyelid and the pink shade is in the crease and under the eye. The colors work so well together that you can hardly notice the difference until it is pointed out. So have fun all our Gemini MUGs!

Hidden Dragon by NaturallyErratic

For those of you who love playing with color and being creative, we know this is one you will love. Here the artist used only four Makeup Geek eyeshadows to create this sensational look. Use Bleached Blonde on the inner 1/3 of the eye and then go in with the color Razzleberry and extend the color past the eye and wing it slightly upward finishing the “wing” with the same Bleached Blonde color you began with. Follow up using Corrupt and then Ice Queen and finish by lining your eyes and extending the liner as you did the shadows. Smudge black under the eye to complete this bold look.

Not only did we get to see a phenomenal display of colors, but also of astonishing techniques. These artist truly amazed us with their talent and imagination.

Fashion Inspired by ilovemyaddiction

For our bolder Muggies, here is one that is perfect for you. Make sure you create the white part first using a white base and going over it with a white matte shade to achieve a very white matte finish. The key to creating this look and making it pop is the bright purples used. We suggest using a bright purple gel liner to create the lines and then going over them with a bright purple eyeshadow like Sugarpill’s Poison Plum to set the eyeliner and make the color bold. Keep the lines crisp and clean using an angled tip eyeliner brush like the MAC #266 brush.  The artist here used Makeup Geek’s Corrupt to create the black wing on the end of her eye and to line under the eye as well.

This is the perfect look for those of you who are just beginning to experiment with color. What sets this look apart is the bold placement of colors on waterline and under the eye as well. Create your natural eye and wing out the top black eyeliner on the top of the eye very dramatically. To add the color, place Makeup Geek’s Boo Berry or bright blue color of your choice under the eye. Go over the outer 1/3 with a touch of black to warm the look up. Next, place a green eyeliner in the waterline. If you don’t have a green use a white and then pat a bright green like Makeup Geek’s Appletini over the white. Add a pop of gold in the inner corner to help balance out the cool tones under the eye.

Without question this is a ideal example of how neutral shades can make a strong and dramatic impact! To duplicate this look begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Mocha in the crease and creating a crisp line. Gently blend the line upward and feather the color out with a lighter brown like Makeup Geek’s Brown Sugar. Make sure to keep the original line and don’t blend it out, a cut crease is defined by the sharp line in the crease. Add your highlight shade and then go back and fill in the lower eyelid. The other stand out to this look is the sharp, thick cat eye created by the winged liner. If you have trouble with these use a piece of scotch tape on the edge of the eye to help create this look. (Place the tape on the back of your hand and quickly remove it. Doing this several times will remove most of the glue on the tape and keep it from pulling off your makeup)

Ideal for Fall, this striking look is a perfect example of how just a few shades can create a astonishing look. Begin by sweeping Makeup Geek’s Beaches and Cream to the entire lid. Use Galaxy to darken the crease and blend the color out with a soft grey. Run the color Bitten under the lower lashline all the way in. Add Goddess to the inner corner and under the inner part of the lower lashline. Bring that same color up over the inner 1/3 of the upper eyelid as well making sure to blend where the color meets the Goddess and the Beaches and Cream line the upper and lower waterlines to finish off this vivid look

Purple is most definitely one of the hottest shades for Fall and that is just one of the things that makes this look ideal for this months gallery. This important part of this look is to find two shades of purple, a dark and a lighter one. What makes this look stand apart from a normal purple smokey eye is the addition of a well placed dark purple sweep of color over the inner crease area. Use the darker of you purples and begin in the inner corner and sweep the color up past the crease leaving a space between colors to make it stand out. This perfect placement of purple makes this look one we love.

So this is most definitely NOT for the faint of heart. If you are bold enough to rock this look you may want to remember the key to this look is mapping out the black lines first. To create those sharp, crisp lines use a brush like the MAC #266 small angled brush. Create your first black line in the crease and wing out the liner. Then, create you normal wing liner on the top and bottom of the eyelid. Connect the two lines coming around the curve of the end of the eye. Once this is done trace the line you made in crease with a light blue eyeliner or shadow. From there on it’s just filling in and creating lines to match the ones you already have.  Be creative and use your favorite colors to create you own unique design.

This is a wonderful example of how just a few eyeshadows can make a stunning impact. Using Urban Decay’s Loaded and applying it to the lower eyelid and Blackout in the crease, this artist shows how proper blending can create a beautiful smokey look. Make sure to use a good fluffy dome brush such as the Makeup Geek Crease Brush to blend out any harsh lines. Add a pair of your favorite lashes if you want to add a touch of drama to this look. This striking look is perfect for day or night.

Over the mountains by Alexandra M

We know this isn’t something you are going to be able to wear to work or on your first date, but this remarkable look is perfect for Halloween or any holiday when you want to show off just how artistic and creative you can be.  Gold and pink are placed on the lower eyelid and blended out in the crease with a purple. Lighter blues fade into darker shades to mimic the stunning night sky. Black liner replicates the mountains and the addition of glitter (NYX glitter eyeliner would be perfect for this) is placed on the blue part of the eye for the stars in the sky. With so much going on on the upper eyelid, keep the lower lid bare or add a soft gold to enhance and warm up the over all look of the eye. Regardless of where your wear this, you are sure to be the envy of everyone around you.

Proof that dramatic eyes don’t have to be bright and colorful, this striking looks is all about how to use neutral shades and the remarkable use of eyeliner to create a eye that is sure to catch everyone’s attention. There are a few things that make this look as stunning as it is. Make sure to use a lighter shade in the inner corner of the eye and sweep it in 1/3 of the way. Follow up by using a bright gold and a metallic copper to make this look pop. However, the standout to this look is the eyeliner. Create an overly dramatic cat eye by bringing in the liner to a point in the inner corner and winging it out on the end. Place a faint white line on the outer part of the black. Use the black all the way on the bottom lashline to connect the inner corner and outer corner. With all that black you want to make sure to open the eye, use either a white or flesh tones eyeliner on the waterline to open the eyes and give a great finish to a amazing look.

Taking cues from the bright blue sky of Autumn and the leaves that come with it, this eye-catching look is one you will love as much as we do! Use MAC’s Deep Truth on the lower eyelid and bring up slightly past the crease. Blend the color out using Sugarpill’s Love+ and then again with Flamepoint. What sets this look apart are the placement of the Buttercupcake on the outer and inner part of the crease above the Flamepoint, leaving a small portion of the Flamepoint visible in the middle. Run Flampoint under the eye and line with black liner on the top and waterline and add your favorite lashes to finish this perfect Fall look.

Autumn Spirit by rinrin

Inspired by the leaves that accompany Fall weather, this look amazed us. It’s the ideal look for Halloween, or, minus the leaves, great for a soft day look. The artist here used Makeup Geek eyeshadows to create this stunning warm look. Leaving the brighter of the shades on the outer and inner parts of the eye gives the look depth without the addition of darker shades. Sugarpill’s Goldilux was used in the middle of the eye to add a pop of shimmer that draws attention to the middle of the eye. Add wispy lashes to complete the look and give it a touch of drama.

Sometimes all it takes is a couple of good eyeshadows and a remarkable artist to create a amazing look, and this one is a wonderful example. Here, the artist used Sugarpill’s Poison Plum on the lower part of the top lid and then feathered it out with Love+ by Sugarpill. Run Poison Plum under the lower part of they eye as well. The key to this look is to blend the top line where the color Love is applied to make sure it blends seamlessly into the skin. Line your lids and wing out the liner and add your favorite lashes to tie this extraordinary look together.

Pixie Dust by Tereza Hiblarova

This look is all about adding pops of color to enhance the over all look of the eye. Here the artist used Makeup Geek’s Pixie Dust on the lower part of the top eyelid. Use a brown like Bada-Bing in the crease and blend the color out with a soft brown. Adding Shimma Shimma as your highlight to the top and inner corner of the eye gives the perfect shimmery effect. Run Pixie Dust under the lower lid and then place a white liner to the waterline of the eye. Pat Appletini to the waterline over the white liner. This addition of this color will enhance the Pixie Dust that was previously used and make for a amazing look.

Gemstone Eyes by Meredith Jessica

Everyone loves the rich, deep colors of gems. This stunning look uses the same metallic tones to create a amazing look that is sure to melt some hearts. Apply green to the lower part of the top eyelid not going past the crease. Bring the same green onto the bottom of the outer corner coming in 1/3 of the way. Take a metallic purple shade, here the artist used Lime Crime Magic Dust in Empress and place it into the crease. Bring the same color under the eye where the green left off and bring it to where the lashes begin. Blend out the purple with a brighter jewel toned pink and finish up with a soft pink as your highlight.

Every girl wants to look her best when she goes back to school whether it’s high school or college. Having the ability to incorporate colors into your look without spending a lot of time in the mornings is a huge concern. This look is a ideal way to do just that. Here the artist uses a bright peach/orange shade to fill in her lower eyelid and then placed a purple in the crease and outer v of the eye. Feathering the color out making sure there are no harsh lines gives it a soft look perfect for school. Run the purple under the eye as well and line that waterline and you are sure to get an A+ on style.

We told you this month had its share of colors and we weren’t kidding. This playful look is fun, flirty and perfect. The artist here used the Lime Crime Uniliners to create this stunning look. The real key to this look is to make sure you add a good primer to the eyelid. This will mask any flaws as you want you eyelid to look its best. Then this look is all about creating a series of lines put together in a winged effect. The wonderful thing is you can use as many or as few shades as you like to get the look you want. Any way you do this, it’s sure to look fun and festive.

Sometimes, all it takes is one bold color to make a statement. This is the inspiration behind this stunning yet simple look. Here the artist used Makeup Geek’s Neptune and placed the color over the lower eyelid. The crease was blended with Moondust and feather out to leave no harsh lines. Moondust was also used under the eye as well. The artist added a touch of Neptune to the inner corner and then traced the v shape with a white liner like Makeup Geek’s Cottontail. The gems are what give this look its sparkle. Using eyelash glue, place gems on the outer corner of the eye and one small one on the inner corner to tie the look together. Add your favorite lashes for a final touch.

MUG Rainbow look by alwaysbella

If you have never seen a rainbow in the Fall with its amazing colors then here’s your chance. This artist used a series of Makeup Geek eyeshadows to create this soft, yet vibrant look. Placing a white line at the outer corner of the eye keeps the colors separated giving them definition and enhancing the look by making the colors pop. Also, make sure to keep the majority of the colors on the lower eyelid and soften them as you move the shades up so the eye retains its subtle look. It is very important to blend each line where the color is placed so there are no harsh lines anywhere in this look. With the ability to pick and choose any colors you want, the ideas for this look is endless.

Stunning has never been so simple! This amazing look was created by using just two Makeup Geek eyeshadows. Place the color Duchess on the lower lid and then blend the color up past the crease making sure to fade it as you bring it up. Next, go in with Gold Digger and place above the Duchess making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Place Gold Digger in the inner corner to open the eye. Create a winged line with Makeup Geeks Immortal on the upper eye making sure to create the point in the inner corner.  Smudge the same black under the lower lid and waterline as well. You can go over this with Corrupt to set it if you like. Use a true gold to trace directly above the black liner and add your favorite lashes to complete this beautiful look.

Show Me How You Burlesque by jessk

This is an ideal look for those of you want something for day or night. What makes this look so unique is the over extended crease line on the inner corner. Here the artist used Makeup Geek’s Shimmermint on the lower lid and darkened the outer corner with Poison Ivy. Place Burlesque in the crease and bring the shade in toward the inner part of the eye overextending the crease line. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines to soften the look. Preppy was used as a transition color to blend out the Burlesque and keep the look soft. Darken up the crease with Mocha but make sure not to bring it in all the way or cover the Burlesque. Wing out your eyeliner and you have a stunning look for anytime.

This striking look is just amazing! Using only a few products this artist shows us how you can use eyeshadow to create a winged look. The key to this look is keepin the shape of the eye. To help achieve this you can use the scotch tape trick and place in on the outside of the eye to help maintain that crisp, sharp edge. Use NYX in Milk over the lower eyelid. This will help all the bright shades to really pop. Place Makeup Geek’s White Lies on the inner 1/3 of the eye and then go in with Sugarpill’s Love+. Place it over the rest of the eye creating the cat eye bringing it up into the crease in a fine line. Use Corrupt by Makeup Geek to darken the outer portion of the eye. If your lines are uneven you can go in with a cotton bud and clean up any edges. Add your favorite dramatic lashes for this full effect.

Dragon Scales by Meredith Jessica

Finding a color that you love and inspires you is often the best way to create a stunning new look. MAC’s Blue Brown pigment is the featured color in this astonishing look. By placing the color on the lower part of the eyelids the artist finds shades that compliment it and make it the star of the look. Here the artist darkened the crease area with Makeup Geek’s Mocha and Country Girl and then feathered out the colors with Cocoa Bear. Run the same Blue Brown color under the eye coming in 3/4 of the way. Place Shimmermint on the inner 1/3 of they lower lashline to add a pop of color to the eyes.

Autumn Inspired by ilovemyaddiction

We love bold, bright statements, and this amazing look is just that. The colors are perfect for Fall and look stunning. Place a bright yellow like Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake on the lower eyelid coming up to the crease. Next, place Makeup Geek’s Mocha in the crease and make sure to blend out any harsh lines. Use Vanilla Bean to soften the line and as a highlight under the brown bone. Place Appletini under the eye coming in all the way. Create a winged line on the top of the eyelid and line the upper and lower waterlines to complete this head turning look.

Rainy Day by alwaysbella

This incredible look is picture perfect. Using Makeup Geeks shadows, the artist created a mosaic of color on her eyes. This look is all about placement and perfect blending so no lines are visible. Work with one color at a time and blend out the edges to help keep the lines from forming. Use scotch tape or a tissue on the outer corner of the eye to help create the distinct, crisp line. Keeping the brighter shades on the bottom of the eyelid and fading them as the colors move upward keeps the eye open and softens the look. A fine line of winged out liner to complete this look.

Welcome to the best of our Idea Gallery for August 2012. (See our previous round-ups here)  This month seemed to be all about the drama. With Summer ending, the transition to fall saw no shortage of bold and creative looks. And our artist seemed inspired by the changing colors around them. Whether it was striking shades that graced the entire eyelid, or pops of color added to a neutral look, color is back and in a big way!

Colour pop by MarilynMUA

Here our artist shows us how the use of perfectly placed pops of color can transform a neutral look to a more daring one. This look is ideal for those of you who are still shy about using a lot of color on your lids. Place Makeup Geek’s Brown Sugar on the eyelid coming up past the crease and blend the color out. Use the shade Corrupt to darken the crease area and feather the color using Bada Bing. Use Shimma Shimma as your highlight under the brow bone and in the inner corner. To add color under your eye, line the outer 1/2 with a bright purple shade like Makeup Geek’s Wisteria and then finish lining under the eye with Poolside. With the ability to place any shades you like under the eyes the possibilities for this look are endless.

Arabic Nights by katosu

This is a stunning example of how just a few colors and dramatic lines can create a timeless and striking effect. The artist here began by placing MAC’s Reflects Bronze on the lower lid bringing it up slightly past the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Use a brown color like Makeup Geek’s Bada Bing to darken the outer 1/3 of the eye. Place a shimmer such as as Shimma Shimma to the inner corner and blend upward. Next, use Makeup Geek’s Corrupt and line the upper and bottom of the eye making sure to leave the distinctive flick on both ends. Smudge the color out slightly for a faded effect. Do not connect the liner on the end of the eye. Apply a white liner to the bottom inner rim of the eye and extend the color out between the two black lines left from lining the upper and lower lash line.

This is another striking example of how color can look soft and elegant at the same time. Begin this look by placing a peachy gold color like Makeup Geek’s Mango Tango on the lower lid. Use a soft brown like Makeup Geek’s Mocha or for a darker effect Bada Bing on the inner crease area. Take some more of the peach color and blend out the outer corner of the eye. Darken the crease by adding a touch of black to it and blend it out. Wing out the eyeliner on the upper eyelid and then extend the line in the lower inner corner to create a sort of “beak” look and then line the lower lash line and waterline of the eye. Blend the liner on the lower lash line with the same peach pigment you used earlier. Next, fill in the “beak” area with a white liner, curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.

Colorful Summer! by starryskies214

Our wonderful artist Starryskies never fails in bringing us stunning looks and this playful creation is not exception. Begin by using NYX jumbo pencil in Black Bean over the lid as a base. Next, go in with Makeup Geek’s Poolside and apply over the black base and under the eye as well. Go in with the color Neptune and blend onto the outer corner and up into the crease of the eye. Gently pat Mermaid on the center of the eye to brighten the look and add another pop of color. Use Purely Naked to blend out any harsh lines left from the blue shades that were used. Use Shimma Shimma as a highlight under the brow bone. Line the eyes with a black gel liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal and then soften it some by smudging a little Corrupt over it. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara or for more drama your favorite lashes!

Ocean Waves

Not for the faint of heart, this next look was inspired by the waves of the ocean. Here, the artist used a combination of Sleek and Coastal Scent shades to achieve this remarkable look. Begin by placing an icy blue shade on the lower lid bringing the color up past the crease and blending out any harsh lines. Create a wing effect above the crease using this color. Use a ice blue or white shimmer for the highlight under the brow bone. Add a softer blue shade or a soft white on the middle of the lid to add brighten the eye. Go in with a black like Makeup Geek’s Corrupt and place on the outer and inner 1/3 of the eye. This is where the drama comes in, use a white gel liner like Makeup Geek’s Cottontail and an angled eyeliner brush and create the wave effect above the crease but not above the blue color. Extend the gel liner into a winged effect to fall under where the blue winged effect was created. This gives it the unique appearance of waves. Add a touch of ice blue under the eyes and your favorite pair of false lashes.

This remarkable look is all about that vibrant blue that graces the under eye area. Begin by placing a purple eyeshadow like Makeup Geek’s Wisteria to the lower eyelid. Next, go in with a soft brown shade like Mocha and blend out the crease. If you want to darken this you can add a touch of Corrupt to the crease as well. Use a soft shimmer like Shimma Shimma on the inner corner  to brighten the look. Use a black liner and line the upper lash liner and the upper and lower waterlines of the eyes. Now for that blue, apply a small amount of black liner to the bottom of the eye and gently pat a bright blue like Makeup Geek’s Poolside over the liner. Placing the liner first will help the eyeshadow adhere to the eye better. Add your mascara and this stunning look is complete.

Wedding Chic by katosu

Who says simple has to be dull? The dramatic liner on this look gives it a stunning effect that leaves a lasting impression. Begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger to the lower eyelid. Apply Mocha to the outer crease to add depth to the look. Blend out any harsh lines by feathering in the color Preppy. Here the artist used MAC’s Vanilla under the brow bone, Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean or a color close to your skin tone would work as well. Run a small amount of the Mocha under the eye. Line the top of the eyelid, coming in where your lashes begin, with a liquid or gel liner like Makeup Geek’s Immortal and wing out the end quite a bit. Use a small dome brush to smudge the liner to give it a faded effect.

A perfect purple look if ever there was one, this colorful look is stunning. Begin by placing a gold shade like Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger to the inner 1/3 of the eye. Next, go in with a light purple shade like Wisteria and blend the color over the rest of the lid bringing the color up just a little above the crease. Darken the outer part of the eye with a dark purple like Duchess and blend slightly into the crease. Feather out any harsh lines using the same light purple as before. Line the upper eyelid and the upper and lower waterlines making sure to get the inner corner. Use the same dark purple shade under the eye coming in 3/4 of the way finishing up with the gold. Add your favorite dramatic lashes and you are all set.

Adding color doesn’t always have to be bright. Sometimes soft shades of color are a perfect way to incorporate color into your look and keep it wearable for work. Here is a perfect example of soft color. Begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Ice Queen to the lower eyelid and in the inner corner. Blend the color Purple Rain into the the crease. Next, go in with the shade Moondust and blend the color above the Purple Rain making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Run the same color under the eyes as well. Use Vanilla Bean or a color close to your skin tone as a highlight under the brow bone. Use a small amount of Corrupt to add a soft line about the upper lash line. Line the waterline of your eyes with a pencil eyeliner. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.

Color, color and more color! That was the inspiration for this eye-catching look. Using a combination of Makeup Geek and Sugarpill eyeshadows, this look is remarkable. Begin by placing Appletini on the inner 1/3 of the eye leaving a small portion nearest the inner corner blank. Next, go in with the color Poolside and fill in on the next 1/3 of the eyelid. Finish filling in the eye with the color Sea Mist. Use Sugarpill’s Poison Plum and blend into the crease making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Go in with a small amount of Corrupt and darken up the crease of the eye to add depth to the look. Take Makeup Geek’s Yellow Brick Road and place on the blank part of the inner corner and bring the color all the way under the lower lash line. Line the upper and lower waterlines and add your favorite set of wispy lashes.

This striking look isn’t about how much product is used, it’s about how it is used on the eye. Creating dramatic curves on the eye with the bold colors makes this a brilliant look. To begin, place Makeup Geek’s White Lies on the inner 1/3 of the eye, then go in with Neptune on the lower lid coming up past the crease and create a curved winged effect at the end. If you have problems with this, use a piece of scotch tape on the end of the eye to help create the look. Sweep a small amount of the White Lies to the rest of they eyes making sure not to overlap the Neptune. The white base will help the other colors we are getting ready to place pop. Now go in with Mermaid and beginning where the Neptune begins draw a line curved upwards but separate from the previous shade leaving space between the colors. Repeat again using a pink color of your choice. Sugarpill’s Dollypop would be ideal for this. Run Neptune under the eye and line the inner rims with black liner. Add a set of lashes and you are all done!

This striking purple and green look is perfect for the transition into fall. The artist here used a combination of brands to create this incredible look. Begin by placing a purple shade on the inner 1/3 of your eye and blend upwards into the crease. Next, go in with a metallic or shimmery green color and place this over the rest of the eyelid staying below the crease area. Using a darker green like Makeup Geek’s Envy and darken the outer 1/3 of the eye then blend the color out into the crease until it meets the purple shade. Make sure to go in with a fluffy brush and blend out any harsh lines. Run the Envy under the lower lash line line coming in to where the lashes begin. Use the metallic green to go over the inner 1/3 of the Envy. go back in with a white color such as White Lies by Makeup Geek and lighten the inner corner. Line the lower waterline, curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.

The fresh vibrant colors of fall dazzle with this look. Begin by placing NYX jumbo eye pencil in Yellow on the inner 1/2 of the upper and lower eye lid and blend out. Go in with Gold Digger from Makeup Geek and pat over the eye pencil. Next, go in with Pixie Dust and place on the outer 1/2 of the eye and place the same color on the rest of the lower lash line. Place Sea Mist into the crease and drag down onto the outer corner of the eye and under the lower lash line coming in 1/4 of the way. Use the color Appletini to blend out the dark green in the crease. Go in with Shimmermint and blend out the colors even more. Use White Lies under the brow bone as your highlight. To add dimension to the look apply a small line of Envy to the crease. Line the upper and lower waterlines with a black gel liner like Immortal and line the upper lash line winging out the liner. To intensify the color, apply Corrupt over the gel liner. Place Ice Queen in the inner corner and blend inward. Add a pair of fun lashes and mascara.

Summer Cocktail by iris

This soft, yet dazzling look is another way adding small amounts of color can transform your look. The artist here used a combination of Makeup Geek and Urban Decay’s Naked palette to achieve this look. Begin by creating a cut crease with the color Buck from the Naked Palette. To do this, use a thin angled brush and draw a line with the Buck right above the crease of the eye following the natural curve of the eye. Apply NYX jumbo pencil in Milk below the line that you created. Draw a line connecting the line and the outer corner of your eye. Flip the brush onto its side and sweep the color upward blending it out. Go in with the color Virgin and place as your highlight under your brow bone. Take a soft taupe shade like Makeup Geek’s Taupe Notch and blend out the brown shade. Next, go in with Bada Bing and darken the line of the cut crease and run this same color under your eye as well. Blend that line slightly using Cocoa Bear. Go in with a Appletini and apply it to the outer 1/3 of the eye making sure to stay under the crease, then use a peach shade on the inner 1/3 of the lower lid as well. Use a Use Vanilla Bean as a blending color on the lids to feather out any harsh lines. Line your upper lid winging out the line and place a white liner on the lower rim of your eyes. Add your false lashes and some mascara.

A little bit of colour by multicolor

This dazzling look reminds of us warm fall nights. The colors are perfect and work remarkably together. The artist here used a mixture of products to achieve this striking look. Begin by placing gold such as Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger in the inner 1/3 of the eye. Then follow using a copper colored eyeshadow like Pretentious on the next 1/3 of the eye followed by a navy blue of your choice. Run the same navy blue color under the eyes coming in 1/2 of the way. Blend the color up making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Use a color like White Lies or one close to your skin tone as your highlight and in the inner corner. Go back in and add a deep purple like Duchess to the outer crease to add depth. Run this color underneath the lower lash line where the blue ends and bring it in the rest of the way. The next part is optional but it is what gives this look its added drama. Place a gold jewel in the inner corner of the eye using eyelash glue. Then place 3 small blue ones on the outer most part of the eye. Perfect for going to a club.

Cheshire cat inspired  by Cecilie Alstad Olsen

 

So we know you aren’t going to wear this to the office, but this fun, Chesired Cat inspired look would be perfect for Halloween or a party.  Sugarpill is mostly used here by the artist to create this Wonderland look. Begin by placing NYX jumbo pencil in Milk all over the eyelid. Using Dollypop, and a very fine brush, start at the inner corner and draw a line upward. Stop before reaching the end of your brows and begin to draw the line upward through the brow. Create another line directly above the first one leaving space in between the two lines. Create small squares between the lines alternating between the pink and Sugarpill’s Poison Plum. Go back in with the pink and purple shades until you get the amount of color you want.

Now use the color Tako and fill in the rest of the lid beneath the “tail” and blend out the outer corner. Line your upper lid with the same purple winging out the liner then add 2 more stripes to the outer part of the eye. Line the upper and lower waterlines with Poison Plum and run it along the lower lid as well keeping the line straight. Fill in the area with the Tako. Now the fun, use a NYX glitter as a base and spread along the upper lash line about the “tail” and add purple and pink glitter. Add Sugarpill’s lashes in Sweetkiss to finish the look.

The lashes are the center of attention with this stunning eye. Using a matte brown shade like Makeup Geek’s Cocoa Bear and place the color on the lower lid and create a winged effect with the eyeshadow. Next, take a black shade like Corrupt pat the color over the outer 1/3 of the eye and extend the color out into a smaller winged effect making sure not to cover the brown. Bring the color in toward the inner corner of the eye. Smudge the same black under the eye as well. Using a small makeup brush and some remover, remove a small amount of the eyeshadow creating a “break” in the colors. Go in with a white like Ice Queen and fill in the “break” you created and also place in the inner corner. Line the lower waterline with the white as well. Line the upper lash line winging out the liner. Apply a pair of wispy accent lashes to the upper and lower lashes and add your favorite mascara.

Soft, subtle shades can without doubt create some of the most impressive eyes around and this is the perfect example. Begin by placing a metallic purple of your choice on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye and blend the color up into the crease making sure to leave the middle of the eyelid blank. Run the same purple shade under the eye coming in to the inner corner. Use a fluffy dome brush to feather out any harsh lines. Go in with a soft pink shade and gently pat the color onto the middle of the eyelid making sure to blend where the pink and purple meet. To darken the outer part of the eye and add depth, add a small amount of black to the outer crease and blend. Bring some of the black color under the eye as well. Line the upper and lower waterlines, and line the upper lash line winging out the liner. Curl your lashes and add the perfect mascara to complete this look.

This remarkable creation is for all your lovers of bright colors. Sugarpill would be ideal for this look. To begin, create a cut crease using Poison Plum making sure to bring the line in past the inner corner and blend the color out. Create the same line under the eye making sure to keep crisp, sharp lines at each end of the eye. Make sure to leave a space between the upper and lower purple parts. Pat back over the purple with a black shade to darken the purple color. Go back in with Dollypop above the purple and feather the color out making sure to get rid of any harsh lines. Next, go in with Velocity and pat the color onto the lower lid below the purple leaving the inner 1/3 empty. Then apply Acidberry to the rest of the eyelid. Use Buttercupcake to fill in the inner and outer corners of the eyes. Finish with your lashes and your have a vivid look that is sure to turn heads.

This remarkable look shows us how easy it is to transform a look depending on where you place the pop of color. The artist here used a Sleek palette to create this stunning look. Begin by placing a piece of tape on the outer part of the eye. Use a black and smudge the color along the upper lash line and feather the color outward drawing it along the tape as you go. Pull the color inward from the tape to the center of the eye bringing the color all the way in. Blend the black out with a grey color and then repeat with a soft brown shade. Use a color close to your skin tone as the highlight. Bring the black and grey colors under the eye and connect them with the colors on the upper lid. Use a slight shimmer like Shimma Shimma in the inner corner. A cotton bud will help create a clean line under the eye and on the outer part as well. In the first picture, our artist uses the bright yellow color on the upper lash line and in the second picture moves it to the inner bottom part of the lash line. Which ever one you choose this is a perfect way to incorporate bolder shades into your wardrobe.

Creating a colorful cut crease is timeless and chic at the same time. Here the artist used Makeup Geek eyeshadows to create this remarkable look. Begin by using Corrupt and drawing a line right above the crease following the natural curve of the eye. Once done, flip the brush on its side and feather the color upward to blend the out slightly. Next, go in with the color Razzleberry and with a fluffy brush, blend the color out making sure to avoid any harsh lines. Use White Lies as the highlight color under the brow bone. You may have to go back in and darken the crease until you get the desired amount of color. The next step is to go in with the color Shimma Shimma and place the color on the lower lid making sure not to come into the black. Run the Corrupt under the lower lash line coming in 1/2 of the way and smudge the color out slightly. Place a small amount of green to the rest of the lower lash line bringing it in the rest of the way. Apply Makeup Geek’s gel liner in Immortal to the top of the eye and wing the color out. Add your favorite lashes and mascara.

Cold Silver by multicolor

Metallic shades are always hot, in style and the perfect way to add bolder neutral tones to your look. Begin by placing a piece of scotch tape on the end of your eyes to help create the sharp, distinct line. Use a black like Makeup Geek Corrupt and place the color on the lower eyelid close to the lashes and blend upward blending the color as you go. Drag the color along the edge of the scotch tape and feather it in toward the eye. Use a silver/grey color like Stealth in the crease to blend out the harsh lines from the black. Use a white such as White Lies above the grey under the brow bone. Smudge a black liner along the upper and lower lash line and in the upper and lower waterlines as well. Apply feathery lashes to the upper and lower lashes. Here the artist used lower lashes with gems attached to add to the overall metallic look. Choose a bronzer with a pink blush to warm up the cool tones. The striking part of this look is the lips. They do make metallic silver lipsticks if you can find them but the easiest way to achieve this striking lips is to apply a pigment like Sugarpill’s Tiara over a lipgloss. The perfect metallic look!

Summer Party Look by makeupbyhilary

With Summer ending we had to give you one more colorful summer look. The artist pictured here used a combination of products to create this fun and festive summer look. Begin by placing NYX’s jumbo eye pencil in Milk down as a base to help the colors pop off the eyes. Place Urban Decay’s Kiddie Pool on the inner 1/3 of the eye. Then fill in the rest of the lower eyelid with Makeup Geek’s Poolside. Go in with a bright purple shade and fill in the outer 1/3 of the eye and feather the color up into the crease. Run the same purple under the eyes coming in to where the eyelashes begin. With a fluffy brush, use a pink shade of your choice and blend the color above the purple making sure to blend out any harsh lines. Use the same pink to run under the eye over the edge of the purple. Line the upper lash line with a black liner and flick out the end creating a winged effect. Go back over the black liner with a Aqua colored glitter liner. Place white liner in the water line of the eye to open it up. Put on a great pair of lashes and you are ready for end of the Summer fun!

Harry Potter may have come to an end but the inspiration is still everywhere. This look inspired by Slytherin House is perfect for fall weather as well. Begin by placing a black liner on the outer 3/4 of the eye and blending the color up onto the eyelid. This will act as a base for the colors. Begin by using Makeup Geek’s Envy on the outer part of the eye and blend inward going half way above the crease line. Bring the color under they eye as well coming in to where your lashes begin. Next, take the shade Appletini and pat the color on the lid coming up coming up to where you placed the Envy. Bring the Appletini in leaving 1/3 of the eye blank. On the empty space go in with the NYX jumbo eye pencil in Mild and apply a thin coat. Pat on the color White Lies over it to enhance the color. Bring the white into the inner corner and under the eye to meet the green. Use the white pencil in the waterline of the eye as well. Create a very thin line of of black liner on the top of the eyelid and add your favorite Slytherin looking lashes.

Everyone loves Gryffindor House, so it was no surprise that it has inspired so many of our artist. The vivid colors of the house tie into the bold looks for this month as well. The artist here did a remarkable job using both Sugarpill and Makeup Geek products. Begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Razzleberry and Sugarpill’s Love in the outer corner of the eye and sweep the color into the crease coming in all the way. Take the color under the eye coming in 1/3 of the way as well. Next, use the color Manderin and place next on the eye right under the Razzleberry to create a transition color from the pinks to the golds. Place Gold Digger by Makeup Geek on the rest of the eyelid making sure to keep it below the colors that were previously placed. Use Bada Bing to darken the outer crease area and add depth. Line the upper and lower water lines and add a thin line of liner to the top of the eyelid. Add a pair of feathery lashes and your favorite mascara.

Brown but not boring by MadamNoire

Perfect for days at the office or warm fall days, this look is all about those lashes. Begin by patting Makeup Geek’s Shimma Shimma on the lower eyelid. Apply a dark brown like Bada Bing or for a softer brown use Mocha and place the color on the outer corner and drag the color up into the crease. Smudge the same color under the eye coming in to where your lashes begin. Wipe off the brush really well and blend the color out to get rid of any harsh lines. For a dramatic effect, use black liner like Immortal and create a winged out effect. If you want, keep the liner brown for the day and switch it up to black for an easy day to night look. Line the water line with white liner to open the eyes. Add a pair of fun, flirty lashes to finish the look.

The perfect look for fall with stunning fall colors to grace the eyes. To begin this look, start by applying NYX’s jumbo pencil in Milk over the entire lid up to the brow bone. Place a piece of scotch tape on the outer part of the eye to help create the cat eye look and give sharp, crisp lines. Go in with the Makeup Geek’s Mango Tango and apply the color to the outer lid. Go in with a light golden brown color like Makeup Geek’s Purely Naked and blend between the shades getting rid of any lines. Blend the golden brown color with a light peach like Beaches and Cream and place the coloron the inner 1/3 of the eyelid and the inner corner blending the color into the crease to feather the colors out. Use Vanilla Bean as a highlight under the brow bone. Pull off the tape and soften any sharp line. Go in with a brown liner like Mobster and line the only 1/2 of the upper eyelid and wing the liner. Take Bada Bing and smudge the color under the lower lash line. Add a coat of your favorite mascara and this look is ready to go.

Welcome to the best of our Idea Gallery for July 2012. (See our previous round-ups here)  This past month our artist definitely didn’t shy away from using color. Whether it was all about bright, bold, vibrant shades that adorned the whole eye, or small pops of color to accent the overall look of the eye, the use of color was abundant. Drawing inspiration for rainbows, ocean waves and even the orient, our artist captured the world around them with astonishing ability. Crisp, clean lines, perfectly blended eyeshadows and striking winged liner in all kinds of shades made July one of our best months. So if color is what you covet, or if you are just beginning to add hints of bright hues to your look, they can be found here.

Cool Wave by Joanna

This is first look is the perfect example how to add a pop of color to your look. Ideal for those of you who are new to wearing brighter shades. Here the artist used Makeup Geek’s Mermaid to the outer part of the lower eyelid for a soft addition of color. Use Gold Digger on the rest of the lower eyelid. Blend Mocha softly into the crease area for added dimension. Use Shimma Shimma as your highlight and soften any harsh lines and in the inner corner to brighten the eyes. Place Homecoming under the eye coming in 1/2 of the way and then coming the rest of the way with Gold Digger. Use Mermaid again in the waterline over your eyeliner to add an extra pop of color. Curl your lahdes and add your favorite mascara.

Song of the Siren by Meredith Jessica

This is a great example of a colorful smokey eye that focuses on just a few shades that work together. Here the artist began by using a NYX Jumbo pencil in Black Bean as a base and feathered it up to the crease area leaving no harsh lines. Pat Makeup Geek’s Stealth over the black base and blend out any harsh lines with the color Sea Mist. Use Shimma Shimma under the brow bone as your highlight shade. Go back in with the color Galaxy and place all the way under your eye smudging out any harsh lines. Here the artist used a Glitter from Lit Cosmetics to add some sparkle to her lower lid. Place Shimma Shimma in the inner corner of your eye. Add your favorite set of dramatic, feathery lashes  and you are ready!

Golden summer by choccolate91

Sometimes adding hints of color doesn’t mean bright, bold shades. It can be as soft and simple as using golds to accentuate your eyes and here the artist gives us a perfect example of just that. Use Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger on the lower 1/2 of your eyelid. Then add the shade Glamorous to the rest of the lower lid. Next, go in with the color Sensuous and blend into the crease. Add a soft shade as a highlight color, here the artist used the white color from the Revlon “Soft on Eyes” palette. You could use any shimmery highlight color of your choice. Add black liner to the top of the eyes and to the bottom but only coming in 1/3 of the way and then going back in with Gold Digger the rest of the way. Line your upper and lower waterlines and add your favorite set of lashes.

Here is a stunning look for our bold and adventurous Muggies. Begin by applying Makeup Geek’s White Lies to inner 1/3 of the eye making sure to get it in the inner corner. Next, place the shade Chickadee on the rest of the lower eyelid and feather upward. Next, use the color Razzleberry in the crease area and bring into the inner corner going past the area the White Lies was. Blend the previous color out using the shade Manderine. Add a color close to your skin tone as your highlight shade. Place a darker shade like Makeup Geek’s Sensuous or Duchess under the eye and to darken up the outer corner of the eye. Line the upper and lower waterlines with a black eyeliner. Use the same black liner to create a wing liner on the top of the eyelid. Go in with Inglot’s Gel Liner #79 and trace above the black winged liner. Add false lashes to finish off this fun yet dramatic look.

Adding gold to any look is an easy yet effective way to add glamour and sophistication to any look. Here the artist used a combination of Makeup Geek and Inglot to achieve this stunning look. Begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger on the inner 1/2 of the lower eyelid and feather upward slightly. Next, go in with a green shade like Makeup Geek’s Dirty Martini or for a darker look, Envy. Feather a lighter color like Poison Ivy into the crease are and bring it under the eyelid coming in to where you lower lashes stop. Use Inglot’s Matte Eyeshadow #352 as a highlight under the brow bone. Place the Gold Digger under the eye slightly over the green and bringing it in to the inner corner. Use Makeup Geek’s Corrupt to create a winged line on the top of your eyelid. Add your favorite pair of wispy lashes for a remarkable eye.

Golden sand by katosu

We love the color and the added gold liner makes this look one of our favorites. Begin by placing a blue color like Makeup Geek’s Poolside on the lower eyelid and up to the crease. Blend the shade Deep Truth by MAC in the crease of the eye making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Next go in with Makeup Geek’s Wisteria to help blend out the previous color. If you want to you can go in with a a color close to your skin tone to use under the brow bone. Next, take a light green shade like Makeup Geek’s Shimmermint and run along the lower lash line. The key to this look is the liner. Use your favorite black gel liner and begin where you lashes begin and extend out creating a dramatic winged liner. The next step adds the perfect touch, using Sugarpill’s Loose Eyeshadow in Goldilux and trace the edge of the black liner on top of the eyelid and under the winged area as well. Add your favorite lashes and you are all set.

Who says dramatic eyes can’t have a pop of color? This looks is the perfect example of how to use minimal products and achieve stunning results. Begin by placing Blanc Type by MAC on the inner 1/3 of the eyelid. Next, go in with Sugarpill’s Poison Plum and fill in the rest of the eyelid bringing the colors up past the crease area. using Makeup Geek’s Corrupt, place the color on the outer 1/3 of the eye creating the cat eye effect and use a small brush to create a crisp, curved line coming up over the purple. Create the same line under the eye as well and bring the black in to an angle in the inner corner.

Here is another example of bright shades that combine to make a daring and fun eye. The artist here used the Sleek Palette but you could use Sugarpill or even lighter shades if you didn’t want your colors to be this bold. Begin by placing yellow on the inner 1/3 of the eye and follow with the orange shade. Place a bright pink on the outer 1/3 of the eye. Make sure you overlap each color slightly to cover up any harsh lines that come when applying each shade. Next, take a softer purple and use this on the outer part of the pink and in the crease area to feather out any harsh lines. Place the same purple under the eye coming in 1/2 of the way and then finish with a bright green. Use a light blue in the water line and add a winged eyeliner for even more added drama.

We loved the colors in this smokey eye. The artist here created this look using all Makeup Geek Eyeshadows. Begin by placing Burlesque on the outer 1/2 of the eye and blend up slightly past the crease. Using the color Gold Digger, place that shade over the rest of the eyelid making sure to avoid harsh lines where the colors meet. Use Cocoa Bear above the crease area to slightly feather out any harsh lines and blend the colors. Next, go in with the color Shimma Shimma as a highlight color. Then, use MAC’s Carbon or Makeup Geek’s Corrupt to darken up the outer v portion of the eye. Bring the black under the eye coming in 1/3 of the way and finish up with the Gold Digger. Go back over the edge of the black under the eye with the Burlesque. Curl your lashes and apply your favorite mascara.

This vivid look is all about the blending. Begin by placing NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk on the eyelid coming up past the crease but not all the way to the brow bone. (Using the white base will help the colors pop) Any brands will do like Sugarpill or Makeup Geek or Inglot. Begin by placing a bright but dark blue on the inner part of the upper eyelid coming in 1/4 of the way. The look is all about repetition so do the same thing by next using a softer blue color than before then follow that up with soft green shade. Next, use a yellow, orange and finally finish up with a purple. The real key here is making sure you slightly overlap each shade so there are no lines between the colors. This look should definitely have a gradient effect to it. To help clean up the top of the eye run a cotton bud above it to create the shape you desire. Place the same purple under the eye on the outer portion coming in 1/3 of the way, then yellow followed up by the same blue that you began with.

Cat eyes can be created in so many different ways and here our artist shows us a unique yet stunning way to create a remarkable cat eye. Begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Preppy in the inner corner of the eye and coming in slightly on both the top and bottom of the eyelids. Next, go in with the shade Mango Tango and place the shade over the rest of the eyelid and blend up slightly past the crease. While you have this color in hand, run it under the lower lashline where the Preppy ended and take it 1/2 of the way. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines on the eyelid. Now go in with the color Burlesque and put it on the outer 1/3 of the eye creating the cat eye. Bring the color under the outer part of the eye where the Mango Tango left off. Add a pair of very angled eyelashes. Here the artist used Eldora False Lashes in H118.

Oriental brown br iris

Inspired by the Orient, the crisp edge and bold shades give this eye it’s distinctive look. Here the artist used all Makeup Geek eyeshadows. To begin, place a piece of scotch tape on the back of your hand to remove most of the “sticky” and place at an angle on the outer edge of your eye, this will create that sharp line. Place Bada Bing on the outer 1/3 – 1/2 of your eye and bring up slightly past the crease are and blend inward. Go in with the color Cocoa Bear and place over the line left by the Bada Bing and fill in the rest of the lower eyelid and use to blend above the Bada Bing creating a cat-eye effect. Go in with the color Chickadee and blend above the Cocoa Bear. Use Vanilla Bean as to feather out any harsh lines and as a highlight color. Remove the tape and go back in with Bada Bing, place the color under the eye coming in 1/2 of the way and winging out the lower lashline. Trace over that line with Cocoa Bear and then with Chickadee bringing that color in under the rest of the eye. Wing some black liner on the top of the eyes, curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.

Iron Man Inspired by rinrin

OK really, who doesn’t love Iron Man? This look was created with him in mind and we couldn’t love it more. Place Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger over the lower eyelid coming in 3/4 of the way. Next, go in with the color Razzleberry and blend into the outer v area and feather inward and up to the crease slightly. Go back with Chickadee and feather the color into the crease area and slightly upward. Use Shimma Shimma as a highlight under your browbone. Place Razzleberry under the eye coming in 1/3 of the way. Use NYX’s Jumbo Pencil in Milk to line the lower waterline of the eye. Gently pat the color Poolside over that. Use Corrupt to line your upper lashline and wing out the liner for added drama and add your favorite lashes.

Not all pops of color have to be bright! This is the perfect example of how adding a perfectly placed pop of soft color can make your eyes look amazing. Place the color Sensuous on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eyes going a little past the crease. Make sure to blend out any harsh lines. Do the same thing under the eyes as well. Next, go in with the color Shimma Shimma and place this in the very center of the eye both on the eyelid and under the eye as well. Use the shade Vanilla Bean to blend out any harsh lines and as a highlight color. Create a winged liner on the top of your eyelid. Add NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk to the lower waterline to open the eyes and make them appear bigger.

Fierce MUG by Vanessa Irizarry

For color lovers everywhere there is nothing better than a colorful smokey eye and this one uses all Makeup Geek eyeshadows. Begin by placing Bling on the inner tear duct and blend upward slightly. Next go in with the color Shimmermint and go in about 1/3 of the way. At this point you should be in the middle of your eyelid. Place Mermaid on the center of the eyelid and then go in with Peacock. Place the color envy on the last portion of the eye. Combine the shades Duchess and Unicorn to darken the outer v portion of the eye. Use Wisteria to blend out the shades that you have previously placed. Place Peacock on the outer part of the lower lashline coming in 1/3 of the way then go in with the color Mermaid and then Shimmermint to finish the lower lashline. Add a thin line of black eyeliner on the upper lashline but don’t wing it out. Line the upper and lower waterlines, curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.

We love the use of color on this neutral eye giving it a defined and simple yet stunning look. This is an easy look to do for those days when you don’t have a lot of time or just want a quick look. Begin by placing Makeup Geek’s Shimma Shimma on the lower eyelid. Next, blend the color Unexpected into the crease using windshield wiper motions. Make sure to feather out any harsh lines. Next, use Vanilla Bean to blend the color out and as a highlight. Place Unexpected under the eye coming in all the way. This look is all about the liner! Create a dramatic winged liner on the top of the eyelid using your favorite gel liner or Makeup Geek’s Corrupt. Trace over the top of that liner with your favorite blue gel eyeliner or with Makeup Geek’s Neptune. Curl your lashes and add our favorite pair of lashes for a simple but perfect look.

Arsenic by MadamNoire

Fine, crisp lines and bold pops of color is what gives this look its distinctive flair. Don’t let this look intimidate you. Although it’s not for the faint of heart, it’s definitely worth trying. Begin by coloring in your eyebrows black with a black eyebrow pencil or Makeup Geek’s Corrupt. Place three dots going from large to small at the end of the eyebrow. Next, create a clean, winged liner on the top of the eyelid. Use Makeup Geek’s White Lies to line the lower lashline and extend the line past your eye. Place three small dots on the top of the extended part of the eye. Also, place a thin black line under the white part that extends from your eye. this will accentuate the white. Go in with the color Pixie Dust and place it on the lower inner part of the lower lashline coming in 1/3 of the way and on the outer part of the lower lashline under the black line. Line the waterline with a white eyeliner pencil. For some shimmer, add Ice Queen to the inner corner of the eye. Add your favorite lashes and you have a look that will definitely turn some heads.

Pastels eyes are amazing works of art and here is the perfect example. Begin by placing NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk over the eye and draw a sharp line above the crease area where the eyeshadow will stop. Place a light blue color on the inner 1/3 of the eye and feather inward. Next, place a pale pink shade making sure to cover the line left by the blue. Follow these same steps using a brighter pink, light purple and then a brighter purple until you have reached the end of the eye. Use a stiff brush to breate a winged effect with the dark purple eyeshadow. Add a small line of balck eyeliner to the top of the eyelid. Run the same dark purple under the eye. Dip a pointed cotton bud into a little makeup remover to create the unique cut out edge on the end of the eye. Now take some rhinestones and place them on the end of the eye where you created the cut out. Add a bright blue mascara to finish off the look.

For our bold and more adventerous Muggies we wouldn’t want you to feel left out so this one is for you. The stand out of this look is that double winged liner on the bottom. However, to begin this look place a bright yellow color on the inner 1/3 of your top eyelid blending the color up above the crease. Next, go in with an orange color and place over the line left by the yellow color and bring the orange over to about he middle of the eye. Follow the same step using a purple shade and extend that color to the end of the eye. Use a small amount of each color to softly feather out any harsh lines above where they were placed. Use a cotton bud to clean up the outer edge and create a soft but defined line.Make a winged liner effect on the top of the eyelids.  Now line the bottom of the eye with a good black gel eyeliner and make the line quite thick and wing this out as well. Now with a bright yellow shadow or pigment, line the waterline of your eye and pat the yellow over that. Extend the color out from the end of the eye and wing it out dramatically and in the inner corner slightly. Create a second line under that line but not below the black and wing that out as well. Curl your lashes and add your favorite mascara.

This look captured us as soon as we saw it. Place Makeup Geek’s White Lies to the inner corner and the first 1/3 of the eyelid. Next, go in with the color Shimma Shimma and place over the next 1/2 of the eyelid blending up past the crease area. Now go in with Sugarpill’s Poison Plum and place on the last 1/3 of the eye and blend inward and into the crease about 1/2 of the way. Place the same purple shade under the eye 1/2 – 3/4 of the way. Now use Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake under the rest of the eye. Go back in with the purple and fill in the first 1/3 of your eyebrow then fill in the rest with Makeup Geek’s Corrupt. Now take the Corrupt and darken up the outer v slightly and place a small amount under the eye over the purple but not cover it up completely. Line your upper and lower waterlines and your eyelid as well. Add your favorite pair of wispy or dramatic lashes for a polished look.

Nothing is more stunning and seductive as a smoldering smokey eye. Begin by placing a dark green like Makeup Geek’s Envy to the lower eyelid. Feather the color Duchess into the crease are and blend out any harsh lines. Place the same shade under the eye and smudge the color out to create a smokey effect. Use the shade Wisteria above the dark purple and softly blend out any harsh lines. Add some sparkle to this smokey look by using Lime Crime Magic Dust in Nymph as a highlight under the brow bones and also in the inner corner. Line the top of the eyelid and the upper and lower waterlines. For an added dramatic effect add a pair of long false lashes and add your favorite mascara.

EOTD: Asylum by Mandy

Warm shades make for amazing eyes. This would look great on you green eyed gals! Begin by placing Sugarpill’s Loose Pigment in Goldilux on the inner 1/3 of the eye. Next, take the pigment Purgatory by Fyrinnae and place it into the crease bring the shade all the way in where the gold began. With the pigment Asylum also by Sugarpill blend above the Purgatory and make sure there are no harsh lines. With a gel eyeliner, create a winged liner on the top of your eyelid. Line the upper and lower waterlines and run a small amount under the eye coming in 1/3 of the way. Smudge the color out and then go back in with the Purgatory shade to smudge out the color. Add a pair of wispy lashes and your favorite mascara.

Oh, I’m so glamourous by Marta G.

This is a twist on the classic old Hollywood look. Here the color is on the lips to give it that glamorous, classic look. Apply a matte white color like Makeup Geek’s White Lies to the lower eyelid. Add a dark grey like Stealth or a black like Corrupt to the outer v area of the eye and feather inward slightly bringing the color in to the crease 1/4 of the way. No use a brown shade like Mocha to blend the rest of the crease bringing it in 1/2 – 3/4 of the way. If you want to you can choose a color close to your skin tone as a highlight. Add a shimmery shade like Shimma Shimma to the inner corner. Now for that liner! Line the top of the eyelid giving your eye an winged effect. Apply a waterproof gel liner to the upper and lower waterlines making sure to come in all the way to the inner corner. With a white eyeshadow or pencil line the bottom of the eye like you normally would making the line slightly thicker and extend to the end of the wing from the top liner. Go back in with a black shadow like Corrupt or the same gle lner and place a thin line under the white eyeliner and bring it out like the white color. Curl your lashes and add mascara. Put on your favorite red lipsick and rock those red lips!

Bronze smokey eye by starryskies214

A classic look never goes out of style, and this is the perfect example. Here our arstist used Makeup Geek eyeshadows to create this stunning look. Use Brown Sugar on the lid and then blend out using the color Latte. Add the shade Bada Bing in the crease to add depth to the look. Bring the Bada Bing under the eye 1/3 – 1/2 of the way and finish by adding the one of the lighter shades.  Feather the colors out with Glamorous and add Purely Naked under the brow for a soft highlight. Add a touch of Bling to the inner corner to help open the eyes. Wing out your eyeliner and you have a stunning yet classy look that is breathtaking.

Afternoon tea by MadamNoire

Adding pops of vibrant color to a neutral look is an easy way to incorporate color. Using Makeup Geek eyeshadows the artist used Moondust over the inner 1/3 of her eyelid and the outer 1/3. Place the shade Gold Digger in the center to bring attention to the eye. Use a small amount of Corrupt to the outer V and blend in a thin line into the crease. With a fluffy brush, blend the color Mango Tango above the crease are and feather out. Add the shade Ice Queen as a highlight under your browbone. Combine the shades Sensuous and Burlesque and sweep it under the eye to finish off this simple yet elegant look.

Fun Greens with MUG! by starryskies214

This look is fun and stunning all at the same time and perfect for anyone who loves green. Begin by placing the color Poison Ivy on the inner 1/3 and out 1/3 of your eyelid. Next, gently pat the shade Pixie Dust in the center of the eye between the Poison Ivy. Use the color Dirty Martini on the outer v and blend slightly up into the crease. Go back in with the color Poison Ivy to feather the color out and get rid of any harsh lines. Do the same thing with the color Shimmermint and then use Bling under the brow as a highlight and in the inner corner. Place Dirty Martini under the eye coming in 1/2 of the way and finish up with Pixie Dust.

Summer of Colours by Joanna

This fresh summer look is stunning but so easy to achieve. Here, the artist only used 4 eyeshadows, 3 Makeup Geek and 1 Inglot. Begin by placing #439P by Inglot on the outer 1/2 of the eye and blend up slightly past the crease. Go in with Makeup Geek’s Glamorous and place on the inner 1/2 of the eye. Use the shade Neptune by Makeup Geek and blend this gently into the crease making sure not to bring it in to far. Be careful and make sure you blend out any harsh lines. Use the color Shimma Shimma as a highlight and in the inner corner. Bring the Inglot shade under the eye 1/3 of the way and then go back over the edge with the Neptune. Use Glamorous and bring the color in under the eye the rest of the way.

Glamorous by grzee

This is a perfect example of how neutral shades can still make a dramatic impact. Begin by creating a fine crease line with the color Mocha. Next, blend out that line with the color Brown Sugar. Now place the color Ice Queen on the lower lid coming in 1/3 of the way. Take the color Bleached Blonde and fill in the rest of the lower eyelid. Now use the color Homecoming and apply it to the outer 1/3 of the eye making sure to stay under the crease. Use the color Bling as a highlight under your brow bone. Line your eyes with a cat eye effect and run the color Homecoming over the edge of the bottom liner.

Here is a perfect example of how bright colors can make you look amazing. Sugarpill cosmetics would be great for this look. Begin by placing a a bright yellow on the inner 1/3 of your eye. Use a vivd orange shade and place it down next making sure to cover the line left from the yellow shade. Repeat this with a bright pink color and finish by adding a brilliant purple on the outer 1/3 and bring it up slightly into the crease. Now take a bold green and sweep the color back and forth in the crease and bringing it up slightly making sure to feather out any harsh lines. Use the same process for the under eye area and then use a white as a highlight. Add some crystals on the outer edge of the eye for added drama.

Classic Black Smokey Eye by Siham.Y

The classic black smokey eye is here to stay! And here the artist shows us how to get that stunning and dramtic eye using Makeup Geek eyeshadows. Begin by placing NYX’s Black Bean over the lower eye lid and blending the color out. Take Makeup Geek’s Corrupt and place the color on the lower eyelid keeping the majority of the color near the lashes. Use the shade Cupcake to blend out any harsh lines to soften the edges left by the black. Go in with Burlesque and sweep into the crease area and feather out with the shade Cupcake again. Use Vanilla Bean as your highlight and in the inner corner. Use Corrupt under the eye an  and go back over using Burlesque to complete the look.

Proof that not all smokey eyes have to be black, this colorful smokey eye is stunning. Begin by placing a bright yellow shade on the lower eyelid going up but not past the crease. Use a bright purple shade and sweep into the crease coming in 1/3 to 1/2 of the way and feather it out. Take Makeup Geek’s Poolside and place it in the crease making sure to cover the line left from the purple and bring it in the rest of the way and blend it out as well. Use Corrupt in the crease in a thin line and feather it out making sure not to completely cover the previous colors. Use a white shade as your highlight nd bring the purple under the eyes coming in 3/4 of the way. Use a bright green to bring the bottom liner in all the way and line the water line with a blue of your choice.

These jewel tones look stunning together. The artist here used Makeup Geek eyeshadows to create this look. Placer Glamourous over the first 1/3 of your eyelid, then the color Razzleberry over the next 1/3. Bitten is on the next 1/3 and follow up with Envy bringing that color up into the crease. Blend the crease out with the shade Sea Mist and then feather that color out with the shade Shimmermint. Use White Lies under the browbone as a highlight. Place Shimma Shimma in the inner corner. For the under eye are, place Envy under the outer part and then follow with Razzleberry, Bitten and then Glamours.

Summer colors influenced this artist. Begin by using a bright blue like Makeup Geek’s Neptune on the outer 1/3 of the eye and blending the color up slightly past the crease. Use a bright purple shade on the next 1/3 of the eye making sure to cover the line from the previous color. Then place a bright pink shade and make sure to feather the edges out. Use a white to fill in the inner 1/3 of the eye and in the inner corner. Use a light aqua shade like Makeup Geek’s Mermaid in the crease to blend out any harsh lines. Line the bottom of the eyes with the same purple and go over the edges with the aqua shade you choose.

This is another example of how the right combination of colors can look amazing on the eye. Sugarpill would be ideal for this look. To begin, use the shade Buttercupcake on the inner 1/2 of the eye. Go in with the color Flampoint and place this on the middle of the lower eyelid. Use the color Afterparty on the outer 1/3 of the eye and slightly blend the color into the crease making sure to blend out any harsh edges. Use a green shade like Midoir under the eyes coming in 1/2 of the way and finsh lining the bottom of the eyes with Buttercupcake.

This is a perfect example of stunning yet simple. The artist here used a combination of a Sleek palette and Makeup Geek eyeshadows to acheive this look. Begin by placing the green shade from the Sleek Ulta Matte Darks on to the lower eyelid. Use Makeup Geek’s Mocha in the crease area and feather the color out with a softer brown shade. Use the same Mocha under the lower eyes. Use Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean to blend out the colors and use as a highlight shade and in the inner corner.

This Dita Von Tesse look is striking! Here the artist used a combination of Wet’n Wild and drugstore makeup to show you don’t have to have the most expensive makeup to achieve a remarkable look. Begin by placing a white eyeshadow like Makeup Geek’s White Lies to the lower eyelid. Next, blend a brown shade like Mocha into the crease and blend out with a soft shade such as Purely Naked. This look is all about that winged eyeliner. Use an angled eyeliner brush and a gel eyeliner to create percision lines. Add those rockin red lips and your look is complete.

This look is for the not so faint at heart. The artist here used a combination of Makeup Geek and Sugarpill for this dramatic look. Begin by placing Unicorn on the inner 1/3 of the eye. The use the shade Neptune on the next 1/3 making sure to blend the line wher the two shades meet. Continue this with the colors, Poolside, Midori, Buttuercupcake, Manderine and Razzleberry. Use Tako as a highlight. The key to this look is the sharp edges. Using a piece of scotch tape on the outer corner will provide the sharp line. Use a Q-Tip on the eyelid to help create a clean line. Take a very small brush and the loose pigment Stella by Sugarpill and draw starts on the eyeshadow. Use Makeup Geek’s Corrupt to line the eyelid and smudge it under eyes. Make sure to add false lashes to the upper and lower lids.

This look is just as beautiful as a bride on her wedding day. The artist here uses a combination of Makeup Geek and NYX eyeshadows. Begin with NYX’s Peach Bronze on the lower lid. Add NYX’s Dark Brown onto the outer corner and blend slightly up into the crease. Feather the color out with NYX’s Sahara and then with Makeup Geek’s Vanilla Bean. Use Makeup Geek’s Ice Queen as a highlight and in the inner corner to help open the eyes. With Corrupt by Makeup Geek, liner the upper eyelid and smudge under the eye. Go back over the edge with NYX’s Dark Brown and line the upper and lower waterlines to make the lashes look fuller.

For all you who love an adventerous look, this one’s for you! The artist created this using all Makeup Geek eyeshadow. Place a piece of tape or hold a tissue at the edge of the eye and create a cut crease with the color Moondust, then blend the color up slightly. Use the shade Bling as a highlight under the brow bone. Go back with the color Ice Queen and place this on the lower eye lid from the inner corner coming in 1/3 – 1/2 of the way and bring it down on to the bottom lashes on the inner part of the eye. Then go in with the shade Manderine and place it on the lower eyelid the rest of the way. Go back in with Razzleberry and place this on the outer corner to darken it up. Use an angled eyeliner brush to create this unique winged effect under the eye and go over the edge with a green of your choosing. Take a fine brush and with Ice Queen draw a line where the tape was removed.

Arabic smokey eyes are a stunning way to play up your eyes. The artist here used a Sleek palette and Makeup Geek eyeshadows. Place a piece of scotch tape or hold a tissue at the edge of the eye to create that crisp line. Begin by placing a gold color like Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger on the inner 1/3 of the eye. Go in with a teal shade like Makeup Geek’s Poolside and place on the rest of the eyelid and bring up slightly into the crease. Feather this color out with a lighter teal shade like Makeup Geek’s Mermaid and feather the color out making sure to avoid any harsh lines. Use Ice Queen as a highlight shade. Using a mixing medium or a drop of contact solution, and with an angled eyeliner brush line eyes making sure to bring the liner to a point in the inner corner. Add a touch of the Mermaid under the eyes to finish the look.

This simple, yet stunning look is sure to become a classic. Here our artist used a combination of products to achieve this lovely look. Place a thin layter of NYX’s Jumbo Pencil in Milk on the eye as a base. Go in with Sugarpill’s Buttercupcake on the lower lid. Then use a shimmery yellow over that to add some sparkle. Here our artist used L’Oreal’s HIP Pigment in Visionary. Use a combination of Makeup Geek’s Gold Digger and Bleached Blonde in the crease and blend out. Use the color Ice Queen as a highlight under the brows. Line the bottom of the eyes with the shade Brown Sugar and a touch of NYX’s gold glitter eyeliner. Use Corrupt to line the upper lashline to complete this fairytale look.

Naked 2 Evening Look by iris

A perfect warm look for the warm summr months and perfect for day or night. This look is obvioulsy done using the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. To accomplish this look begin by putting Half Baked in the inner corner of the eye. Then, go in with the color Chopper and place it in the middle of the eyelid. Uset the shade Blackout on the outer corner of the eye and then use the color Busted to blend it out. Place the color Tease in the crease and blend out making sure to fether out any harsh lines. Place the shade Foxy under the browbone as your highlight shade. Use Snakebite under the lower lashline and Bootycall in the inner corner.
