Hi Marena
Thanks for the amazing video on blushes. I am always digging for the right colour. I am from Australia and it is really hard to find Urban Decay, Nyx, Makeup Forever products here.
I tried one Shu Uemura blush (very pricey thou..!!), but i really liked it. I wanna try Nyx blushes coz i prefer matt blushes. Hope to order them from MUG store soon..!!
Take Care
Esha..:)
If you are after NYX, I’ve found them on http://www.crushcosmetics.com.au. I actually saw an ad for them on the MUG website. Got my makeup in a week… all 9 things… free shipping at the moment for orders over $60 – inside Australia only. Hope that helps.
Hey thnx Ella. I will try the site..
For those of us in Canada, I found my NYX products in some Pharma Plus stores.
Hi Muggy mama!
As an african american woman who absolutely adores your show some companies do not make makeup in my color. As far as blush goes here are my favorites!!! Love rush and sweet as coco from Mac, . Love rush is a burgandyish-dark pink it gives me a natural flush look. Sweet as cocoa gives me that shimmer with gold look and really warms the face. Lastly, I tried this blush from Michael Marcus. Its a pink forget the name but it actually is not an ashy watercolored pink on me.
HEY LIES THIS IS SARHA TONY KING I’M WRITEN YOU BACK ASKING WHAT PULS STORE ARE YOU TALKING A BOUT
THIS IS ME AGAIN THAT UP AT THE TOP WHERE YOU SAYED AS AN AFRICAN AMERTICAN AMERICAN WOMAN GUEST WHAT I’M NOT A FRICAN AMRICAN WOMAN DUM ASS BUSH HOROR FN FYOU AND KISS MY ASS
too bad i missed out on Ripe Peach
I am so ever interested in trying the HD blushes but I love Coralista and the maybelline mousse blush.
i got a NYX blush from the MUG store! but i still havent used it!
Hi Marlena,
I absolutly love your choices. Have you ever tried the Stila mouse blushes? If so do you recommend them?
Love you
Xoxoxo
I didn’t even know Stila had mousse blushes! I’ll have to try them out soon
Thanks for the heads up!
the stila cream/mousse blush is called Stila Convertible Color. You can use it on your eyes and lips. it comes in a ton of colors. J.Lo uses it.
Hi Marlena,
really nice video – I also love blushes and peachy colors are my favourite! I’m also very impressed by Bourjois’ blushes. I have used the color rose d’ore and it’s very nice light pink with some golden shimmer, but it’s not too shimmery, perfect for light skin tones. I would try another color, but the brand is not available in Germany, so I have to wait till I visit another country. I really loved MAC’s blush from your video, some day I’ll try it
Hi marlena! Great video. I love peach blushes too!! What is your opinion of thr mac blushes?? Also what do you think of the new liberty of London collection?? Any tutorials coming up using that??
Thanx so much!
Claire.
I like MAC’s blushes a lot actually- some better than others. I still am liking matte blushes more lately and just using the mineralize skinfinish as the highlighter for the shimmy shimmer
I liked the Liberty of London collection- got 7 things I believe… I have a review vid coming up soon
Not sure of any looks, but I will show the products I liked
I bought quite a few of the Liberty of London items too. I’m new to MAC’s cosmetics (tried them because of one of your demos) and am really liking them. Love your site!
is there anyway you have extra ripe peaches?? im so bumbed they were all sold out
I wish I did! I have an extra of the purple colored one though….
I hope i love the Maybelline one too, I just bought it and this will be the first time ever using blush. I bought it via your advice so im hoping it will work for me too.
Hey Marlena. I have a few questions. First, I cant afford to buy any pricey make up. I buy mine at Walmart usually which has like Maybelline, Loreal etc etc. I think i do pretty good my eyes but my face needs work. See i have some freckles and I absolutely hate them, they always show thru my foundation. My face routine consists of washing, moisturizing and then foundation cuz like i said i cant afford too much(but im working up to it) but nothing seems to be covering up my freckles. What is the best foundation from like Walmart? I use liquid now, but i am willing to spend at least double just to cover these darn freckles. lol. I know you have a video on your face routine but I also looked at another website on how to get a flawless face, they said i should 1. wash it 2. use toner 3. moisturize 4. foundation primer 5. concealer 6. foundation and 7. make up setting spray or finishing powder. Any feedback on that? Maybe im missing a step in my face routine? Or maybe im just not doing it right or not using the right product? Plz help! Second, I also am having trouble with my eyebrows, they just dont want to look right, and ever since now i thought how mine look was how they were supposed to look but now i see different. Maybe you could do a video on eyebrows??? Plz help! My third question is about brushes. Why do you recommend getting the brushes and not applicators? I use the applicators cuz when i try to use brushes, the brush tears up the eyeshadow and doesnt last nearly as long. Any suggestions?
Hey April, while I can’t help you that much with covering up freckles (maybe try revlon colorstay? That to me is quite heavy coverage), I can suggest that you include sunscreen in your makeup steps to help prevent future freckles and sun damage.
HTH
Hey April
I have freckles as well, and I just started using Max Factor’s Color Genius foundation with minerals. I apply it with a foundation brush, then set it with loose powder. I love it. Very lightweight but still covers my freckles and any redness.
Also, I would recommend absolutely any product by Nyx. Most things they offer are really conservatively priced, and Nyx is by far my favorite brand. Their products are way better quality than drugstore stuff at the same (or LOWER) prices.
Good luck-
Kelly
For foundation I do like the Revlon Colorstay- it’s all in how you apply it though as it is pretty thick. Use a slightly damp sponge or the MUG stippling brush to apply- it’s the best ways I’ve found to get a more even look to the skin. The steps to get the flawless skin are exactly what I do, so yes I recommend that
I taped a brow vid (for like the 3rd time now) and I need to tweak it still- me and brow videos seem to have a love/hate relationship right now *sigh*
If the applicators work for you, then use those- there’s no rule that you have to use brushes. But, when you blend colors, you’ll need a brush as an applicator is meant to apply color instead of blending
Thanks. I will try the Revlon and i do use a brush for blending. Thanks so much for the feedback. and are the eyebrow ones uploaded or u just havent uploaded them yet? Thanks again.
I have freckles. I have used Revlon color stay for years. I have tried lot of others but always go back to Revlon. I love it.
you should use a full-coverage cream concealer and then foundation. neutrogena and covergirl have some excellent concealers. coastal scents camo quads are great too. make sure its a cream because liquid concealers tend to be sheer. then, use a full coverage foundation. clinique even better is supposed to even out skin tone and like erase your freckles and discolorations, but its $25. revlon colorstay is the best for that, i recommend applying it with clean fingers or a stippling brush to get the best coverage. Then, set everything with a pressed powder (loose is too sheer; a good pressed powder is the revlon colorstay powder) and face mist (evian makes a good one thats $10). for your brows, you can use a cream shadow, a powder shadow, or a special brush pencil. nyx makes excellent brow pencils. Sonia kashuk makes good brushes, as does NYX. They are both cheap. Applicators suck so dont use them. they mix the eyeshadow colors together and you look like someone played paintball on your eyes.
NO I COULDN’T USE THOSE BRADUCS SORRY I WANT TO SEE YOU GO OFF THIS THIS ENTERNET BEY BEY BEY BEY BEY BEY
HELLO HELLO MARLENA!
I’m really excited because lately you have been responding to all my messages! Thank you so much!
First of all i love your new pink curtains. They look fantastic. They make the video look more inviting and exciting!
Secondly could you PLEASE do an updated video on your make up collection and how you organise it. I would love you to also put up a video on organisation but not on make up.
I hope you could do these video’s. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!
Hope to hear from you!
Keep up your fantastic work Marlena!
YOU’RE A STAR!
I’ve had a makeup collection video taped from a few months ago actually- I’ve just been trying to find the time to edit it
It really is on my top priority list though
i can’t us thoes pardocs like covergirls because they will make my face turn red and barck out easy that i wont be using thoes and that i have the baby on the way so i cant be using those any more sorry ieomoeo
Coralista and Orgasm are both amongst my faves too. ELF’s blush in Glow is a fantastic hybrid of the two shades – it’s not the most long lasting, but it’s not the worst either. For only £1.50 it’s well worth trying.
I kept passing over the Maybelline mousse one’s as the mousse foundation is crappy, but I happened apon one of their mousse eye shadows for £1 and was really impressed by how well it wore, so now I’m going to try a blush.
Thank you for sharing with us what you like, I really LOVE blushes and here are my favourite:
Chanel Joues Contraste in Orchid Rose – this is my favourite blush of all times
Illamasqua Cream Blusher in Rude
Lancome blush Subtil in Cedar Rose
I know that it’s only 3 but these are my MOST favourite blushes. I also like NARS Orgasm, maybelline’s blushes and lots of other but not so much as those that I’ve mentioned
I would really love to get some Becca blushes.
The Chanel one u mentioned is one of my favs 2. Really pretty..!!
I even love Chanel’s Blush duo in Tweed Sienna..
Thanks for the video Marlene. Thanks for the color selections for darker skin tones.
GODDESS MARLENA … once again we are forever in your shadow of perfection
SIX OF THE BEST … mmMMM yes please Goddess .. (so painful
……………..
Really like the new pink curtains as now you can see more of your shoulder line and the all the weight loss that you have achieved so well done … and a good informative tutorial once more, im blushing just being allowed to watch!
Have you had extensions? as you hair is really getting long now, and looking nice although it must be hard to get the bouffant at the back that you were doing when you had shorter hair as this was very nice as well if you can understand. anyway take care Goddess and …… Chow mein!
GODDESS MARLENA
KNEELING before your DEVINE PRESENCE
AMEN
haha- you are too funny
Yes, I put in extensions- they’re the ones from Sally’s Beauty and they work great! The funny thing now is they’re only a couple inches longer than my hair, but I still like them since they add volume
Nyx Peach (I usually keep this in my purse )
Nyx Taupe (as contour)
Nyx Angel
Rimmel Apricot
Nyx Pinky
last…and probably least BeautiControl Pinch Me and Angelika
hello Marlena!
i really love the NARS Orgasm one, because it adds a little plump to the cheeks,
and i love your choices on the other blushes! I cant get very many blushes where i live but I can get some you showed!
thanks for the tips!
-Jackie
Hi,Marlena…I need your help. How can I choose the right color of loose powders?do I apply mascara on the lower lashes? How?
Thank You. You are the best:
For loose powders, you want it to be the same color as your skin. Hold up the container to your jawline and try to get the closest match to your skin color. If it doesn’t work, you can always exchange for a different one
For mascara on the lower lashes, you need to tilt your head down a bit so you don’t get any on your cheeks
And, using a smaller wanded mascara helps
I really love Pixi’s sheer cheek gel. I use it when I want a natural look. It’s very nice! You should try it.
Is that the one they sell at Target? I’ve been meaning to try their products!
Love the “top lists” you do, it’s very helpful
Here are some blushes I love:
- MAC’s Pink Swoon (bright pink but looks natural on skin, matte finish)
- Stila’s cheek duo in Pink Glow (2 different tones of pink, can be used seperatly or mixed together)
- DuWop’s illuminating blush in Apple (peachy olor, very sheer and shimmery, can be used alone or over another blush)
First, I want to say that I love love love your videos. I’m new to the makeup world. I would like to purchase blushes but my problem is trying to figure out what is the difference in a medium skin tone and a dark skin tone. I don’t mean to sound stupid but my skin tone is the color of taraji henson so what would you consider her skin tone to be. Your help would be greatly appreciated.
I googled Taraji to try to remember who she was- wow, she’s really pretty!! I would say she is more dark than medium
You’ll look good in NYX Mocha or Pinky blush or even NARS Taj Majal or Taos. You want a bit brighter blushes in corals, brighter pinks, and bronzy golds- the contrast between the brighter colors and dark skin looks absolutely gorgeous!!
I hope that helps some
I agree with Ripe Peach and of course Orgasm! I’ve been wanting to try Coralista, it looks like such a gorgeous colour!
Hi Marlena!
Thanks for this video! I bought the orgasm blush BUT Im medium skin tone & I have large pores on my cheek area & I didn’t really like it (on me)…I just bought MAC’s Trace Gold Sheertone blush, it’s bronzier but would that look right on medium skin tones?
Thanks so much for ALL your help!!!
I’d have to see the Sheertone blush- for medium skin, the peachy-pink colors look great! If you have pores on your cheeks though (i have them too), go for matte finish blushes, then add the shimmer on top of the cheeks with a highlighter of some sort
Araceli – I don’t tend to do this, but when I read your post, I just had to chime in because I would describe my skin very similarly, and I had the same reaction to Nars’ Orgasm after using it…
After years of searching/using/testing to find “the right one”, i narrowed my options to these three:
Nars’ “Mata Hari”
Bobbi Brown’s “Clementine, 31″
And for an all over glowy color, try Laura Geller’s “Balance -N- Bronze”
All three are sheen/glitter free, which is an absolute MUST with our skin type, and they each give a unique look, which you can decide goes best with the season or other make-up you are wearing.
I hope this helps…I just read your post and couldn’t help but put my 2-cents in because I think i know where you’re coming from, and sometimes you just want to stop ‘testing’ and start ‘loving’ what you wear on your face!!
best, =)
p.s. Marlena – thanks, as usual, for your dedicated work in sharing the make-up knowledge wealth ;->
Hi Marlena,
I have never worn fake nails and it looks like you wear them all the time… or is that a french manicure? Anyway, what brand of fake nails do you prefer?
Love your eyeshadow!!!
Hi Tina
They are acrylic nails- I get them done at a nail place in the mall here. To make them last longer, I file them down with a rotary sander (I forget what it’s called, but it’s from my dad’s tools- haha!) A friend of mine got these ones from Walmart- she said they were super cheap, but looked amazing! I want to try them out, so if I can remember the name, I’ll post it here
I used to used the Maybelline peach satin and I loved it! It was a very cute everyday color, but I think I swapped it away because powder blushes are easier for me. But now I want it again after seeing you talk about it haha=)
I havE A QuEstioN…. DOes it mAttEr if your KinDa taNIsh coloR and u Use a dArk bluSh?or eveN a lighT onE?/: i kinDa geT that tRoublE on wicH is bettEr for my skIn coloR:[ itS juSt so StrRessed FULl;[ cAn u pleaSe recommEnd me sOmethINg A.S.A.P THX:D
Try to find a blush that is the same lightness/darkness as your skin- so if your skin is like a medium tan color, go for medium pink or peach/coral color. You don’t want it too dark or too light or it will look too bright or not show up at all
I have to say that I just started using Cream Blush from MAC and I am loving it. The color BRIT WIT is a nice neutral color. Just have to be more careful with placement and need to work quick with the product so that it does not set where you dont want it to!
I almost got that one! I got Lilicent cream blush and haven’t tried it yet- thanks for reminding me
Lilicent looks really pretty (just looked on mac cosmetics website)! I may have to purchase that one too….thanks for your response!
What is a good contour blush that is a dupe for Emote, which is discontinued?
Also, what stippling brush would you suggest that DOES not have fallout? I look like teen wolf in the morning and I am using that Essense Stippling brush! NOT GOOD
Hi girl!!!!!! Im from guadalajara mexico and im following you from here. I think is great what are you. doing you teach alot here in mexico some thinks i cant find them. You do something great in something am$azing!!
Great video! I love your makeup videos. They really inspired me. Every morning, before I go to work, I look to see what makeup to do. Thank so much for these videos. I love them.
Take care.
Loved the video, as usual! – Here are some of my favorite blushes:
Le Metier De Beaute – Sun Blush (the one I’m currently wearing) : )
NARS – Orgasm (my favorite summer shade)
NARS – Amour (beautiful, rich shade…fall and winter)
MAC – Fleur Power (for summer)
Cargo – Gold Coast (for summer)
I am desperately wanting to try the NYX blush in Peach but you are always sold out! It must be great!!! I’m anxious to check out MAC’s Ripe Peach, too!
Would you please tell us some of your favorite lip colors, too?!!
Thanks!
My faves are..
1. Stila Convertible Color in Lillium
2. Jane Iredale blush in Barely Rose
3. Jane Iredale blush in Dubonnet
4. bareMinerals blush in Kiss
5. Maybelline Mineral blush in Original Rose
6. Revlon Powder blush in Wine with Everything
Hey Marlena,
I have heard many say that primers aren’t necessary, What do you think? Any suggestions when you have sensitive dry skin which primer to get.
thks
You are such an inspiration to so many!
I’m a HUGE believer in primers- I’ll use a primer before anything else actually
For dry, sensitive skin, I think you would like the MAC mattyfing gel or the Too Faced Primed and Poreless- there are SO many on the market though, it’s hard for me to keep up
I would go to a sephora near you and ask for several samples of different primers to try- they’re usually pretty good about giving out samples, then you can pick your favorite
Me…. again! In case other “MUG’s” are interested…MAC’s Blush Ombre in Ripe Peach was a limited edition color and is no longer available unless you want to drop a wad on Ebay! : ( Any suggestions to something close, Marlena????
Shoot… I’m trying to think- I didn’t know MAC discontinued it already
Someone said Estee Lauder or Lancome has one that looks similar- I can’t remember
HI MARLENA DO YOU RECOMEND THE PRIMER FROM SALLY HANSEN?
Hi
Estee lauder had the very similiar blush.
: )
Kim
HI MARLENA I HAVE A QUESTION I BEEN LOOKING FOR THE MONISTAT CHAFING GEL EVERYWHERE BUT I CAN’T FIND IT CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHERE EXACLTY STORE CAN I FIND IT PLEASE? TY
Hi I was able to find this at Walmart. Look in the area where they have tampons and vaginal type of stuff.
Hi
CVS carries the Monistat chafing gel
: )
Kim
MAC Ripe Peach = LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I don’t use anything else after I bought this. Too bad it’s LE. Everything good is always LE! so frustrating
Hi Marlena,
Thank you for this video. I am medium skin tone as I am Puerto Rican. Like yourself I love peach / coral colors for blushes.
FOR THOSE WHO ARE LOOKING FOR THE MAYBELLINE MOUSE….YOU MAY WANNA CHECK YOUR LOCAL DOLLAR TREE STORE!!!! I FOUND SOME THERE AND IN A VARIETY OF COLORS. GOOD LUCK!!!
I love your website!! I am always checking to see if you have new tutorials!! Just curious if you thought about doing a wedding day makeup guide?? I am getting married in Aug and would love some tips!
I actually have put it on my list of tuts to do
It may be a month or so though as I have some others that have been on my list awhile, but it should definitely be done before August
Hi Marlena I was wondering if you could help me bout finding my Nars loose powder foundation… My MAC pressed powder I’m c40 I’m thinking I may be desert in the nars loose powder.. What do you think? I’d appreciate if u wrote me back thanks
And nc42 in liquid.. Thanks so much!
I really like Coralista from benefit but for me (NW15) the best blush is the Mac Fun & Games from the hello kitty collection.
By the way…I’d like to sea tutorial about how to apply bronzer, as I always have problems with it.
Thanks for everything Marlena!
Marlene, I just want to thank you for helping me remeber how much I love makeup!!! I’m a 30 yr stay at home mom and I guess I just forgot to play with makeup and have fun with it. I was getting stuck on doing the same old routine. Now I can accent & highlight my features! Your videos are so easy to follow and I watch them everynight! Again thank you thank you thank you…. You have made me feel pretty again!!! Also I have a oily t-zone and noticable pores what mineral foundations do you reccomend??? What are you faves??? Love your work!!! You should write a book!
Actually Could you do a review on your top mineral foundation???? that would be AMAZING!!! Thanks
Hi Marlena,
I did a order on April 11th and I didn’t receive yet, do you have any ideia when I supose to
receive those.
My order number is: 100015739
I appreciate!!!!!!
Have you ever thought about trying your hand at Gothic style makeup? I think, if you’ve not already played with this style, that you’ll have a lot of fun with it. I’d love to see what you do with it.
hi marlena! my question is if you dont have your foundation and powder from the same line how would i choose it to match perfectly? since depending on the line it tends to be more rosy or peachy undertone etc..hope you can help please!!!!
do you have any suggestions on cheaper versions
Hi Marlena,
I saw your tut on how to fake flawless skin. I was going to try foundation for first time and buy your stippling brush. I see your out of stock. Do you have an idea when you’ll get more in? I did end up trying MAC’s, but I am not impressed for $42. Would love to try yours.
Thanks-
Jill
I have slightly darker skin and love natural make up so I have fallen in love with Bare Minerals All Over Face Colour in Glee. It looks very natural and it lasts for ages.
Marlena,
Thanks for your advice. It’s always right on the money. I am a NC50 in MAC and my favorite blushes are:
1. Ripe Blush in Vintage Grape (I too missed out on Ripe Peach and it is no where to be found – I even tried the Gone but Not forgotten through Estee Lauder since they own MAC and 27 other cosmetic companies and they can search across the country)
2. NARS Orgasm
3. MAC Mocha
4. MAC DollyMix
I recently bought the Maybelline in Cloud Wine and will try that NARS Taj Mahal or Taos.
On a side note, I have been searching for a NARS Sheer Matte foundation shade to match me and it seems I am in between colors. I would also like to try their loose powder but their darkest shade is Mountain. Any suggestions???
Thanks in advance for your advice:-)
Hi Marlene,
I want to try the Nars Sheer Glow Foundation as I have heard so many good things about it. The closest Sephora to me is about an hour drive and I don’t get down there too often. I was thinking about just ordering it online but I don’t know which colour would be best for me. Any recommendations of how to shop for foundation online?
Thanks a bunch!
Hi Marlena!!!
I’m from Brazil, I was looking for videos of makeup and I find you.
Sorry my Ingles is baddddddddddd.
Congratulations your make is incredible. We do not have many options to makeup like USA, our very expensive.
Tanks!!
Kelly
hi marlena i love all your tutorials, i need yoor help, i have a cobination skin and large pores whath kind of foundation would you recomend me???? thanks
Hi Marlena!
Thank you so much for your videos.. You don’t even understand how much they help me.
I have a sugestion though, have you heard of Pixi by Target?
I LOVE IT! I bought an eyeshadow from there & I use it as a highlighter for only $14.
It works great on my skin tone (I’m very fair and it’s a pretty pink / peach color)
You should try some products from there.
Once again though thank you for all of your vids.
You’re amazing.
I’m only 13 btw, so could you make a simple, flawless face routine / makeup vid. for young teens?!?! PLEASE
Hi Marlena!
Great video, and I’m loving your new curtains! I just wanted to say that I’ve been watching your videos since you started MUG, you look better than ever! Your makeup skills are amazing and your videos are great to watch!!! Keep up the great work XOXOXOOX
Hi Marlena – thanks for the reviews! I am on your website ALL THE TIME

Hey Marlena,
I absolutely love how you’re wearing your hair right now. Could you maybe post some more pics of the style, I’d really love to see how it’s layered since I’d like to cut mine soon and yours is perfect and exactly what I’m looking for!
Thanks for your constant advice and tips, you’re really an icon!!

Hi Marlena-
I have to tell you how obsessed I am with your website! I check it everyday! I actually had a question I wanted to ask you….how did you get started with all of this? I’m 27, a hair dresser, and I actually just graduated school to be a make up artist, from the Make up Designory. I traveled there every single day from NJ so you can tell that make up is truly my passion! How can I further myself in this career, especially in this economy when no one is hiring?? Let me know, I’d love to hear your advice!
Taran
i have the nars orgasm, its gorgious i absolutly love it its well worth the money. I love the peachy pinkness to it and the hint of sparkle its great i also have the dream matte moose but it tends to seperate my foundation a little i dont know if i am applying to much or putting to much pressure when i apply it, any helpful hints? i love all the information u give, i am actually joining cossmotology school soon and because of u i will have a head start!
o ps i finally got around to getting revlons color stay in the oil free, I AM IN LOVE its such a good product i watched ur new face tut and i now do my face the same way altho i tried to go to sephora and they were all out of my color in the nars loose powder any other brands u think i should try untill they have mine available?
Love the first picture, you look amazing Marlena! Thanx for the tips!
Hey it’s me again, I have a question, well first of all I want you to know that I’m a big fan of yours, I already bookmarked your site and I love your tutorials, but I have a little problem, I’m from Mexicali (If you wonder where that is… It’s right next to the border from CA) and my city is the hottest city in the world (for reals) I usually wear Mary Kay’s medium coverage foundation (I love it during winter & spring), a smashbox camera ready full coverage foundation to cover up blemishes and red spots and Chanel double perfection natural matte powder, but since my face is greasy on the forehead, nose and chin my make up won’t last a day long couse of the weather, I wonder if there’s a powerful foundation that lasts at least half a day haha! I need your help on this one Marlena!! (:
Lucy-if you really want crazy full coverage, try MAC studio fix liquid foundation. I have to wash my face twice to get it off but it does last and you’ll get the coverage you want. It comes in a tube.
Thanks, I’ll try that one!
hello marlena what is your hair color???? I love
good day
Hey Marlena. I wanted to thank you again for the face advice. I bought the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation and it seems to be working. I also recently bought the Maybelline Mousse Blush and the Loreal Voluminous Mascara, I like them too. Also, I got some Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips and they look great for highlighting. For eye base, I got some Almay Bright Eyes Base cuz I really cant afford any other product, that is working ok, not the best but ok for now until i can get the Urban Decay primer potion, I think i saw that on Amazon and it wasnt too pricey, but is there any other one you would recommend… My eyeshadow always seems to feel like its creasing… It sometimes feels heavy.. So i finally checked out the MUG store and I didnt know some of the products were actually pretty well priced. I plan on getting some NYX products soon. So i just noticed that you contour your face. Do you do that every day? I think that might help my blush look not so noticeable.. Now like ive said before, I cant afford much so is there a contour that i could get like a Maybelline one or Loreal or Covergirl? Or if NYX has one, I could get that one too.. Im kinda light toned, Kinda like you before you started tanning….??? Sorry this is so long but I wanna get a few questions all into one but my real question here was about my hair. I have thick hair, usually frizzy. Now, i straighten it to unfrizze it and to make it lighter but i also get it thinned when i get my hair cut so its not THAT thick right now. Anyway, its always so flat and im never sure what i can do with it. Usually i just pull it back with a headband and leave it at that. But it still kinda looks flat and boring. Ive never tried doing anything with it. Ive watched your tutorial on how to volumize hair and Ive thought about trying it but the BedHead products are kinda pricey and not in any stores around here. I dont want to buy something when im not sure if the look is for me. Maybe there is some alternatives for me to try the look out..Could you think of some cheap alternatives? Thanks. Hope to hear from you soon. Keep on doing what your doing, you look great!
hello marlena
i love your hair color, what’s the name/number of the dye you used ? please, I love watching your videos
Totally agree with your choices… I have not tried the CORALista, but will in future… my standby blush is Benefit Dandelion.
Great tutorials, keep it up!

I can’t find out the NYX peach blush in the MUG store. Are you no longer selling this color or just temporarily sold out?

Great video…i just discovered this site as i was searching YouTube to find out how to do Kim Kardahsian’s Vegas cover shoot look; i saw your video on how to do that look with cheaper products, and i decided to check this site out! I just purchased MAC’s blush in pink swoon and i like it alot! it’a a very subtle pink that you can pump up with Dior’s shimmer powder.
Hi Marlina,
I am a teenager just getting into liqid tinting mostureizers, however i have oily slightly blotchy sking. I need something light since i am an athlete and i dont have time to mess with lots of matte finishing before school. Am i on the right track chosing a liquid tinted moistureizer. I wanted to try the urban defense one you suggested.
Also, i have large eyes, alot of lid, and looong eyelashes, how can i make the outter V show up i tried following your video but it keeps disappearing as soon as i open my eyes. How can i make layered eyeshadow looks work without making my eyes look to heavy which often happens with any dark color and having the outter v not dissapear.
Thanks-Kelly

Hello marlena,
Have to say I’ve been an avid watcher for a good while now. You’ve helped me really get in touch and feel beautiful! I’ve always had low self worth, and now that I know how to put on makeup ( which everyone says I’m fabulous with doing!) I have the self esteem I never had! You are such an angel! I find that MAC warm soul is beautiful on me! Its shimmery but not to the point its over powering. And give a nice natural glow, I also have gingerly from mac but where it is a beautiful color I find its too dark for me.! Can’t wait for another makeup tutorial! Ur fan forever hannah
Asmau, clinique makes this wonderful new lotion that decreases the dark spot and blemishes on the face. Not sure of the name but I find their products really do their job! I have a lot of reddness in my skin and use clinique redness solution line and pore minimizer creme and my skin looks 110% better ! Try the clinique counter. They’re products are wonderful and suprisingly not as expensive as many other name brand products!
Hi Marlena how are you, just to let you know, you have a fan here from Malaysia, (for those who don’t know where is Malaysia, check out our world map, =). Hmm.. Okay Malaysia is a neighbor to Singapore. =p
I really love your videos on You Tube, and now I am loving your website. Love your tutorials and your sunny personality. =)
My questions is,
1. Will you do a review on eyeliners, gel liners, pencil and liquid liners? That ranges from drugstore products to high-end brands? Or a Top 10 of your own? If you already have videos on that, I’ll check them out on your channel.
2. Will you also do reviews on compact powders and loose powders, also from drugstores and to the more expensive ones?
Thank you Marlena, keep it up, you rocks!
Asmau,
I can tell you what i use to cover up unwanted scars and dark spots and it works really well! THe foundation i use is Make Up Forever HD foundation (i think you can only get this at Sephora). It’s a wonderufl foundation, it is pricy, but i think a drug store equivalent would be Revlon Photo Finish foundation. The concealer i use is Make Up Forever Camo palette (sp?) #1. i havent found anything as good as this concealer pallete, i think it is really worth the money you spend. it has 5 concealers including a green for redness and a dark peach tone for dark undereye circles (the three others in the pallete are light, med, and dark conceaers) In combination, this concealer palette (applied 1st under foundation) and the foundation itself are unbeatable in covering up unwanted scars and dark spots…hope this helps!
any idea when nyx cream blushes would be available in makeupgeek store?
I am a NC 37 or NC 40. Am I medium or dark skintone? What blush would be good for me? What is a nice nude lipstick for my skin color? Love ur work
Hi Marlena,
Can you please let me know how to apply Cream Blush successfully? I am really having a hard time with my application of Brit Wit. I was told by the MAC consultant at the makeup counter that cream blush is wonderful – but for some reason it looks really dirty on my face!
HELP!
I like to use pinky blush but i have pink spots on my face sometimes even i’ve cover well with foundation (or maybe i should use full coverage rather than tinted foundation). Which is a good brand to use without looking pink and patchy all over. I’ve tried Shu Uemura and Laura Mercier blush. I’m Asian so i feel Shu Uemura colors fit me quite well, but it’s a little pricey. I always see the sales assistant at Benefit wearing their blush and it looks gorgeous. I also see it’s in your fav list. Should i try one that’s suitable for my skin tone?
What shade of the Make Up For Ever HD Blush do you recommend for fair scandinavian skin? Just for an everyday look, not to bold.
Love your videos.

this is really cool!
