i love this video…i was actually already on the site looking at older videos..you have transformed before our eyes! i have to tell you that i was majorly bummed b/c i did a search and didn’t find any nyx products near me. well i prayed to the make up gods and they pulled thru. After i ordered some stuff from you (thanks btw! i got it the other day and i was like a kid with new toys) i randomly went to drug emporium for some gluten free stuff and wandered over into their makeup section. i was so happy to see e.l.f. products. as i’m walking about taking in the deals i round an aisle and right before me is a NYX display!!!!!!!! i swear i hear angels singing, there was a heavenly glow around it and trumphets sounded!
i bought toooo much stuff but was so happy! since then, i’ve been back a couple of times-i’m talking within a week or two…i know you love mac but i can’t afford it so nyx gives a budget seeker like me a good alternative. i should however be mad at you b/c now i’m just spending all kinds of dollars on make up, brushes, lipsticks and so forth

You can find NYX @ Ulta. I live in Los Angeles and we have a store downtown that sells NYX only and for a fraction of the normal cost. You can also order NYX online.

What drugstore was this n which state. Coz i m in North Carolina and i have searched n searched for NYX products but can’t find any drugstore which has it. The ulta here has very limited NYX products.
its at drug emporium in huntington, wv…Drug Emporium is a store that has all kinds of stuff…they sell whole foods, organic and gluten free foods…they sell lots of drug store items plus yard ornaments and things…they are a hodge podge of stuff…if you have a store like that that isn’t “low rent” or trashy…you may be able to find it. i did a search for both e.l.f. and nyx products and didn’t come up with anything…i happened upon it at drug emporium…try walgreens, fruth pharmacy, i have heard some people say their rite aid or cvs has it…honestly before i found it in a store i ordered from marlena…i’d do that if you can’t find anything…the palettes she has aren’t there so i will still order things…i just like being able to see the color for myself.
I live in Los angeles and would like to know from sonja where this place in L.A. is?? I haven’t been to downtown in ages and would like to make my way down that area especially for NYX products… nothing like seeing the products in person i say. Thanks.

Thanks for the vid! I am surprised that you did not list “Painterly” as one of your all time favs! LOL- I love the Fix+, and I am actually considering purchasing the NARS loose powder. I have worked for NARS for 2 years, but never thought to use their loose powder. I just don’t want to look overly done. Would you reccommend that I use this for my wedding day makeup?

Hey. I was watching another person’s channel on YT today, and he ALSO said that people in Germany couldn’t see his video(s). He explained it; something to do with…something? Lmao, I am NOT a tech-geek. He said he contacted YT and that they couldn’t fix it. So, probably whatever is wrong with his, is what’s wrong with this video here.

I think soundlyawake said it was an acronym like GEMA or something. It had to do with Germany’s laws I believe and it was directly related to the music used in the video.

And just to add to the questions from the other gals, (hoping you’ll answer), what happend to the mufe concealer pallette? Not that you can’t change your mind, but do you no longer use it? I tried using it to cover up some of the my redness on my skin, but I couldn’t get it to look right under my foundation so I took it back….

OOOHHH!! I also wanted to let everyone know that I bought Urban Decay’s Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder and I LOVE IT! If u like the HD finishing powder from Make Up Forever, I feel this is even better, because if feels SUPER SUPER SILKY ON YOU SKIN and powder is not white but a fair color and its covered with a sponge applicator that you press on your skin…..very cool check it out maybe you’ll like it too….

I would definitely curl your lashes and apply a lighter shimmer shadow to your lids with a medium color (or a medium neutral) just above the crease

I can’t find the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Champagne on MAC’s site. Would the “Sunny by Nature” or “Cheeky Bronze” work about the same??
Shimpagne was limited edition and therefore discontinued a while ago. Try to go to a cosmetic company outlet, they sell alot of discontinued stuff there
The MAC website says that the eye shadow Honey Lust would be a good dupe for Shimpagne Skinfinish. I’m picking some up tomorrow and will let you know how it turns out.

The Bourjious night balm is A-mazing but it is no longer sold here (at least in Sacramento!) so I’ve been working to find a dup (with not too much success – Philosophy Kiss Me Tonight has been my replacement but it is EXPENSIVE!). When I first REALLY got into makeup, I kept hearing things here and there about Fix+ spray. I ignored it cuz I thought it was just water or something.. but when I got a MAC makeover about a year later, they used it on me. I got the Fix+ spray as part of my $50 for the makeover… and OMG its the best.
It turns your foundation into a second layer of skin. Period. That’s all you need to know and its so worth it. I’ve been using it everyday for the past 6 months and it’s more than halfway full.

Bobbi Brown’s corrector in Peach is my favorite and lasts forever! I love Fix+ too because I use BE’s matte foundation and it makes me look flawless and natural. I loveee it as the finishing touch.
As a Bare Minerals makeup artist I’m sad to see that there aren’t any BE products on your top ten, but I can’t wait to try the MAC Fix+ Spray!

I have a question for you: What would you recommend for dry eye lids? I’ve been using eye makeup more often than I ever have and I seem to have dry lids now. I use MAC’s painterly paint pot as a “primer” and then use my eyeshadows.. I’m not sure what’s going on!
Hi Jenna, I’m not Marlena of course but I wanted to share with you that I use Clunique All About Eyes all around my eyes, including my eyelids, a few minutes before applying my eyeshadow primer. It moisturizes beautifully and it’s product description says it helps makeup stay in place. Nice bonus for an eye cream eh? Love that stuff!!

I have a lot of reddness in my skin and use the clinique redness solution wash and loose powder, I want to try the nars loose powder, can I still use my clinique as well as the nars? I don’t like it to look like I’m wearing a lot of makeup, so if I use both will it look heavier?

I was looking on MAC’s site for the mineralize Skinfinish in that exact shade, but it’s discontinued. Any alternatives? I know it recommended an eye shadow similar to the look of shimpagine but I wasn’t sure just to try and pick out another skinfinish shade, or just go with the eyeshadow. I’m fair skined too so anything you wear I match it pretty close as well.

I adore this site, Marlena. Just tremendous! I recently saw some girl from England who had (and might still have) a blog about makeup. Now she has her own makeup line! I don’t think she looks half as good as you! WHY DON’T YOU HAVE YOUR OWN MAKEUP LINE? It’s not fair!
