i wanted to ask u marlene how do u apply sidecar without getting all the shimmer on ur face? lol….. i tried doing it but alot of the shimmer gets on my cheecks? is there a trick i dont know. please let me know. thanks a million!

Dear Marlena:

This book of colors is AMAZING! I also wanted to let you know that I did have EXACTLY the same problem to pull the eyeshadows out of the box…I questioned myself…why the flowers in 3D if I can’t get to the shadows? I guess I will have to live with that.

I would also like to take this opportunity to tell Trini-Make Up Artist from Trinidad (an Island that I love so dearly!) that she can get the UD Book of Shadows out of Ulta.com. I got mine from them, and today (coincidence?) I received a message from Ulta, stating that they ran out of this item, but now it is in stock. I love ULTA!

Finally, but not least, I want to thank you Marlena for teaching me so much about make up, brushes, tricks, products I never heard about, etc. I am delighted. Now my 15 yr old daughter is also hooked on Make Up Geek.com, and she is practicing a lot with your tutorials by her side! We latins are make up loves, and I am glad I found the perfect teacher in you!

I got the urban decay palette a few months ago when it first came out. I absolutely love the shimmer shadows it’s a great addition to any collection! The only issue I had with this palette was the drawer … I just hated pulling out a draw to get to my shadows. Plus the pop up picture in my opinion where not too visually appealing… which made cutting them out of my palette so much more appealing! So a few days ago I finally picked up a razor blade and cut into, the end result is a more functional palette

I agree with you about not having a lot of matte colors. I hope you can put up some looks using this palette on the idea gallery soon. There aren’t enough using urban decay Thanks! And thanks for all the advice through here.

Just a little note regarding the primer potion. I do adore using it on myself as well as my clients, but i felt that I was using it up awful fast. That is untl my husband cracked open the genie tube to reveal 10 times the amount of product hiding in the swells of the tube. So dont chuck it out before using some cutting tool to open that baby. You will be surprised. Just be careful not to hurt yourself in the process.Cynthia

Hi Marlena! I got my Book of Shadows a few weeks ago and I was going to wait until X-mas to use it (Crazy! I know) anyway, I couldn’t resist and started using a few days ago! OMG! I LOVE IT! Especially because I love Shimmery eye shadows! Thank you for the techniques, I now understand that my entire eye should not be shimmery all the time! I’ve learned so much! I’M HOOKED!!! Anyway, we love you in L.A.!!!
