Makeup Haul/Review

Bare Escentuals eyeshadows are pretty pigmented and blend easily. They have good staying power IF you have an eyeshadow base underneath. They come in 5 gram sifter jars and are similar to MAC’s pigments. The only drawback is that since they are loose powders, there can be more fallout than with the pressed eyeshadows.
I am really loving these as there is such a wide variety of colors, and they are cheaper than buying a full jar of MAC pigments.
Here’s a breakdown of the BE textures:
- Velvet: the most opaque of the three. Incredibly creamy color that gives a rich, smooth finish.
- Glimpse: supremely soft and sheer with a touch of glow. Use dry for whisper effects and wet for more opaque sheen.
- Glimmer: high intensity sheen. Can be softer and more translucent when worn dry, but creates an opaque wash of high sheen when worn wet (called “foiling”).
MAC Products:
- Studio Fix Fluid Foundation- great coverage, glides on smoothly, and stays on well. The only drawback is that it has yellow undertones to it. (eBay)
- Set Powder in “Invisible”- similar to Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil but is more sheer and has a slight shimmer to it. Since it is so finely ground, it applies very smoothly. (eBay)
- Loose Beauty Powder in “Dancing Light”- similar to the Vanilla pigment but smoother and slightly less shimmer. This is great for highlighting any areas on the face. (eBay)
- Atlantic Blue eyeshadow- Bright violet blue (Matte) (eBay)
- Sable eyeshadow- Muted golden plum brown with bronze shimmer (Frost) (eBay)
- Shroom eyeshadow- Soft muted golden beige with opalescent shimmer (Satin) (eBay)
- Phloof eyeshadow- Frosted off-white (Frost) (eBay)
- Kid eyeshadow- Beige cashmere (Veluxe) (eBay)
- Plum- Pure lavender (Matte) (eBay)
- Vibrant Grape- Bright magenta purple (Satin) (eBay)
- Velvet Moss- (eBay)
- Concrete- Muted taupe brown (Satin) (eBay)
- Time and Space eyeshadow- Frosty copper (Frost) (eBay)
- Magnetic Fields eyeshadow- Black brown with silver pearl (Veluxe Pearl) (eBay)
- Bottle Green eyeshadow- Deep bottle green matte (Matte) (eBay)
- Bisque eyeshadow- Soft muted pinky-beige (Matte) (eBay)

Hey - this was such a great video! You shouldn’t feel weird about sharing the stuff you get (although I understand why you do.) To me it is the same as sharing with your friends when you go on shopping trip. For those that it bothers, then they shouldn’t watch
Also - we have such similar tastes in makeup - I think it is bc we have similar coloring. I have a lot of the same e/s as you - I had to laugh when I saw that you had Shroom in your palette right next to Ploof! I meant to buy Ploof! the other day but got Shroom by mistake. In your palette they look exactly the same. How would you say they are different? Is it worth it to have both? I think Ploof! has more of a frost finish right?
Last thing - the highlight powder you got from the pro-store - can you do a more in-depth review of this? I am on the look out for a highlighter and I really want one that has very little, or very finely milled glitter in it. Can you only get this at a pro-store?

Oh - I guess there was one other thing… what do you mean when you said about the Bare Minerals e/s in Pebble that you want to use it as a blending shadow? Do you mean to blend other shadows? What makes this color a “good blending shadow”? Thanks - just trying to learn and understand

I have bought some MAC stuff on ebay- you need to make sure you check the seller before buying, as there are some fakes out there…

I love that you did this haul video… I looked at some of those colors yesterday…but didn’t get them. Can’t wait to see what you do with them… So I can rush out and pick them up so I can try to copy your look. After showing my hubby your BE Green and Plum theme… He stated, “That is hot. Hello. Well, you have such gorgeous eyes, so big and with such a beautifull colour and experession. I have very small turquoise “cat eyes” and sometimes I run out of ideas to colour them. I think it would be a good idea if you hire or just ask some models, completely different from each other and from you to try different styles of make-up on their eyes. I think it would be interesting, and other girls like me might identify their eye shapes a little better.
Since you have such a pretty face, try on more natural make-up, so that when you put a lot of make-up, people will actually notice. =)

Because I really want to buy some lipsticks for my mom upcoming birthday, but I am not an expert in cosmetics, I barely wear foundation nor eyeshadow and never have lipstick on. My mom prefers dark, red color, and she has medium skin tone.
