Whoo hoo sexy mama lolz. Glad to see ur recovering fast…and its not.just.our prayers that helped..ur just a strong chicky lolz..go get em girl!!
Happy to hear your doctor says you’re recovering well and quickly! You sound like you’re in good spirits, which also helps a recovery along. I think it’s great you’re answering questions and making these videos. Before I went in for gallbladder removal surgery I did a lot of online research and read as much as I could before meeting with the surgeon. He confirmed everything I’d researched and that really did help me feel better going in. It’s exactly as you say, the scariest part is just not knowing. The more I learned, the better I felt and the less scared I was. (That and the fact that I was tired of being in pain. By the end of my illness I was so sick that the idea of feeling better and being able to eat normal food again pretty much drove a lot of the fear out of me!)
I’m really excited about your healthy future!
Marlena,
I am so happy for you! You are a beautiful girl. I cannot wait to see you all dolled up.
Take care,
peggy
You are a beautiful person inside and out, no matter what size you are. Despite what others think and say, just keep moving forward for yourself. Bless you, your family and friends.
I watch all of your videos and you personality is so sweet and adorable. Glad to hear you are feeling well after your procedures. Best of luck.
Marlena,
Please do yourself a favor!! Make sure you take some pain meds when you go to get your tubes removed!! Trust me on this one! I know that it’s different for everyone, but getting the tubes removed was really painful for me, and they forgot to tell me to take meds beforehand. I don’t want to scare ya… just thought i would try to spare you some discomfort because i went through exactly what you are going through! You look great by the way! I’m so glad you are healing so quickly!!! You are in my thoughts and prayers!! XOXO
~Angie

Lots of love to you!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Thanks for the update Marlena!~! Still sendin those prayers your way. Love ya girl!
I had bariatric surgery in May 2010. I understand fully the pain of the stomach band and the drain tube! People say I cheated by having this done, but to date I’ve lost 82 lbs and feel better and am a better mother to my 11 year old special needs child. That is why I did it, so I could be a better mother in caring for him. Anyway, just wanted to drop a line and let you know you are in my thoughts and prayers and I am confident that one day, the pain will be behind you.
PS: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for all of the makeup tips. I had not worn makeup in 4 years and now I don’t leave the house without it! Luv Ya LOTS!!
Glad you are doing well. I really feel that your videos are so helpful. I also have been thinking of getting a tummy tuck. I am so glad you are showing how the recovery is and what I should expect. I wish you a speedy recovery and all my prayers are for you and your Family.
Soooo happy to see your doing well! Its amazing how just going on your web site and watching your tutorials daily now, for about 7 months now, how much you really do start to care about and wonder about that person you only see on a computer screen. Ha i really found myself telling people about your surgery and how you have taken us all with you on your weight loss journey and now this intamate surgery. I am super excited for you and so happy to hear that you are healing well. I am sure you are getting “cabin fever” by now but just tough it out!! i am so glad you have a wonderful suport system! even when you feel you are at your worst…you are amazingly beautiful to us!! inside and out!!!! Thank you for being you
We all love you Marlena and hope you have a fast recovery! I am so jealous, I want a breast lift sooo bad! So when you have a chance, please talk about that part of your surgery too!
Hey Marlena,
Its Sabrina from Bay City. I know how you feel cause I went through the same thing but it was for breast augumetation. Its a bit painful. My breast was so high but then after 6 months or so they drop. After all my puppies(girls) they look really nice..Like you said the a week before surgey and the day of surgey is scary. Cause you are going under a knife. Im gong through some stress right now. I just lost my biological mother on Wed. 2/2/11.. I wastched her die in front of me and that was scary! Anyway, really do Wish you the best and May God Bless you!
Hi Marlena, I am so glad you are doing well; I am a nurse, so I love to hear when people are doing great after surgery. Glad you are taking all your pain meds; there is no point being in pain if you can do something about it I say. Thankyou so much for sharing your story. I am a very sharing person too, but sometimes remember you don’t have to share everything (if you don’t want to), though, at the same time, sharing always helps in the recovery and healing process. I’d help to look after you if I could, just to say thanks for all the makeup tips you’ve given me!! You’re my favorite makeup artist, and I can’t wait till you’re back in full strength making more vids for us! Take care
I’m so glad you are doing well! I recently found out about your site and I’m addicted! Can’t wait until you’re back in full effect! xoxo
Kudos to you marlena for being so brave! I have lost almost 100 lbs over the last 2 years, also doing it very healthy with exercise And eating right. I still have about 30 more lbs to lose and have begun to think about a tummy tuck and breast lift, however I am getting married in June and we plan to have kiddos right away so I plan to hold off and hope to keep the weight off post pregnancy to have surgery after 2 kids-hopefully 5 years! Did you ever factor in possible future plans of having babies when making your decision to have the surgery? Only curious!
Hey Marlena…its great to see you……i know you will do great…you are such a sweetheart, nothing bad will happen to you…

Hi marlena,
Glad to hear that you are doing so well and that your still smiling. I know it’s not a easy process to go through, and that standing up and walking around that first week takes alot of courage. I can honestly tell you that it will get easier and you will become stronger and all the pain and misconceptions will be forgotten. It will be worth the wait and patience for the final results, you will see results straight after but you give yourself another three to four months and you will look at yourself and say OMG look how great I look. you will be totally over the moon with how more confident you will become . You will walk out of the house with your head held high, and you will be like yeh look at me i’am beautiful and iam looking and feeling sexy. you go girl and strut your stuff. I feel its very sweet that you are sharing your story with people, because until you have been through this no one really knows whats its like. Wishing you a continued and speedy recovery love and god bless! Lynn
Dear Marlena; I am very happy to hear that you feel better, take it easy; you gonna be fine and beautiful as always. I wish you a easy smooth recovery.
YOU,….ARE….SO…AWESOME. Thank you for the gift of your personal private journey. It is WONDERFUL TO HAVE A FANTASTIC MOM…they are great aren’t they? I lost mine in 2008 and miss her everyday. She was amazing, so I understand Mom’s being wonderful.
Heal fast, much love and good thoughts and hugs to you always <3
Aloha Marlena!
You look wonderful! I wish you a safe and speedy recovery. You’re a strong woman and you’ll get through this quickly. Hang in there and get lots of rest and drink lots of liquids. Lots of blessings is being sent your way!
Lots of Aloha and prayers!
Ann
Glad to know that you are okay !
So brave of you that you even when you can’t make a vid,
you still do to let us know how its going .. : )
Hi Marlena, You look wonderful. Do you think that the tummy tuck hurt more or the boob lift? I’m curious to know because I’ve been thinking about the lift for a while. Anyway, you mentioned that your mom is doing things for you that she shouldn’t be doing for a grown daughter. As a mom myself, trust me when I say there’s nothing we wouldn’t do for our daughters; grown or little. My mom came here from Italy when she was 16, and has been overprotective, and comforting for all of my life. And yes, I am becoming more like her (having three of my own now). There’s really nothing that’s out of bounds when caring for your baby (doesn’t matter that you’re not a baby anymore) and nothing will embarrass her or make her uncomfortable, so don’t feel that way, okay? She loves you and doesn’t care because she wants you to be happy and healthy. And no, this is not your mother writing this hahaha. So, take care and again, you look great and I’m so happy to hear that it went so well. Take the time to relax and try to enjoy this down time. You’ll beg for just one day of this when you’re up and busy again. Take care!
Hi Marlena! I’m so glad you’re doing good! You seem to be such a nice person! I’m glad you’re well surrounded =)
I wish you all the best
dear marlena i really like your site!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!i wish you a really nice recovery or perastika(this is how we say it in greek…!!!!!!!!!)keep going..!
You look great after 6 dy op, im very inspired in your big weight loss. I myself need lots of lbs off but also want to do it the slow way without pills and starving myself
…i actually did the oatmeal, peanut butter, nd brown splenda just need to get the protein. Thanks for all advice, I’ll keep you in my prayers nd God bless!!!
I’m so glad you’re doing well and on your way to a speedy recovery! Sending you more good wishes!!!
thank you so much for another update! I remember the tubes – my husband had to measure and drain them for me! It’s worth it, though. I am so glad your recovery is coming along nicely and as always, I pray for continued success.
Hi Marlena !!
I hope you are better as the days pass by, you inspired me to get up and be who i used to be several years ago, when i was thin and loved to play with makeup and be nice like a doll, but i don’t really know when i stopped doing it, i`m a mother of 3 and my weight pop up and my self estime went to the floors with all the people telling me your so fat, fat, fat, FAT. I don`t know how i`m going to get my self estime again but the important is that now i know i have to star from there, and this first step i inspired from you. God Bless You. Sincerly…Ross
Hi Marlena.
I am so happy you are healing quickly!!! You look beautiful even without make up
I have heard so many scary stories about having a tummy tuck. I am on the fence right now, I still have another 20lbs to go. I am still in the early stages of research. One question I have for you is. how did you decide on who to go with? Did you visit with more than one doctor? I live in canada and there are so many plastic surgeons out there and what scares me is how do you know they are the right one?? I had a breast reduction and a lift after my daughter was born and it was the best thing I have ever done. Keep well and I can’t wait to hear more about your recovery.
Thanks for all your make up advice. Once a MUG always a MUG
Amanda
You look grea t. I had a tummy tuck and breast reduction with lift last year. It was the best thing I have done for myself in a long time. I had the “Mommy Makeover” after my third and finally child was born. I worked really hard to lose my weight and the surgery fixed what diet and exercise could not. I agree that the surgery is not for everyone…it should be an individual’s personal decision. Enough about me… I wanted to let you know that I started watching you a few years back. At the age of 30, I learned how to apply makeup to enhance what God has blessed me with. I wish I would have known you in my teens! I get complements on my makeup a lot and I always refer people to you and your website. You are truly gifted and a treasure to those of us lucky enough to follow your advice. I have never written a comment on anything before…I thought you needed to know how special you really are. A couple of tips that helped me heal faster. I took a post-surgical vitamin formulation (I am sure I cannot disclose the name here) in a “blue and silver bottle”. I also ate protein bars in between meals. You need extra protein for healing. My surgeon says not to waste your money on expensive scar creams and such…she recommended Bio Oil. I have been very pleased. I went through a period of depression because you are down and out during your recovery and “things” weren’t progressing as fast as I would’ve liked. Give it time and take care of yourself. Good luck and God bless. Oh yeah…wear your compression garments longer than recommended. Even if you just continue to wear them at night. I suggest even moving to a phase II and wearing it awhile even after you are technically “free” from your personal torture device known as the compression garment.
Hi Marlena ,
This is Rachana frm INDIA….nice to hear that u r fine .
recover fast ,enjoy life .
god bless u and ur mom .who helps u a lot
bye god bless.
waiting 4 ur next updates
get well soon…………………………………. And keep smiling…………….
I found this website a long time ago when I first started wearing makeup and I absolutely love it.
I am glad to hear that you are doing well. My mom had a tummy tuck and lipo back in November and she said it was very painful. I dont know if you had/have the pain pump or not, but they gave her the option of having one and she said if it werent for that she wouldnt have been able to go through with it. Also a lot of doctors dont do the tubes, so I would recommend to others to really look into the doctors before going with the first choice.
XoXo
Nice ot hear you are doing better. I just received my order. Thanks. There was a bit of a purple pigment explosion during shipment, but I guess live continues. I will use it by using a brush to take the product from the piece of bubble wrap… We just have to be creative, right? But seriously, feel better. Nothing like our Moms to take care of us, even cleaning after those bodily functions …

Thank you for the update Marlena! It’s so relieving to know you’re doing good! I worried a little for a couple of days hoping someone would post something about you! Hugs!
I’m so happy that you are doing well. I give you credit for being able to have this sugery. You should take great pride in being able to drop 90 pounds. After losing my job on11/30/09, I decided that I had the time to watch my eating habits and to exercise.
So in a year I lost 50 lbs. All I did was eat healthier and walked 2 miles 5 days a week.
Now 14+ months later, I have joined a gym to help with the toning and continued weight loss. My goal is 60 more pounds. I don’t think it will be that difficult. I am excited to see who I can become.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery. Thank you for sharing your journey with us all.
Donna, NJ
Sooo happy for you.
Hugs.

Marlena, I just wanted to say Thank You from the bottom of my heart! I am a 40 year old Wife and Mother of 8 & 9 year old girls. You have been such an inspiration to me with your website and your caring and nurturing ways. Up until a couple of months ago, I was down, not really into taking care of myself, and I guess you could say, just letting myself go. All my life, I was a girly girl, into makeup, clothing, my appearance was so important to me. I got married, had two babies back to back, and just forgot about me. Not to mention, I gained 100lbs with my pregnancy and ended up at a weight of 200lbs, after having been 130lbs pretty much most of my life. I’ve done alot to try to get the weight off, but still have to work at it, alot more than I have been. About 6 months ago, I was looking through youtube’s videos on makeup ideas and happened across a few of the Makeup Guru’s. Above all that I viewed, your’s stuck out to me! You are so caring, friendly, sincere, genuine, and nurturing and it is so much appreciated by your viewers. Since I have been watching your videos, I have found the real me. You’ve really inspired me to feel as if I have become the most beautiful woman ever. Your videos have taught me so much. I feel like now, when my makeup is on, I can conquer anything. I get so many compliments on the new me. Both my girls and my Husband have noticed the change and are so happy that I am finally back! You are an absolutely gorgeous woman both inside and out! I am so happy you are doing what you want with “You” and are recovering so well. I pray for you to heal quickly and hope you aren’t in too much pain. You are doing great, thank you for keeping us informed on how you are progressing. This really means alot to alot of us. Please keep doing what you are doing and you really do inspire so many woman. I look forward to your next videos. Thank you again for helping me become the woman I should have always been! Love ya! Callie
Marlena…
I can totally relate to your situation. I had to go through the same thing after I lost over 100 lbs when I was younger. It’s heartbreaking when you realize you have worked so hard for something and the only fix is surgery. But for all the hard work you deserve to feel “normal”. No one really talks about it or tells you about the “aftermath” of the weight loss. Even recenlty I had Jillian Michaels respond to a question I asked her in Time magazine about how she helps people overcome the insecurities that come with the imperfections after weight loss. I was hoping for more a profound answer, but all she said was basically give yourself credit for your accomplishment and we all get old and wrinkley anyway. How disappointing!!! That is something obviously only someone who is young and vibrant and has not had to experience what it’s like to look in the mirror and see a beautiful face and the body of an 80 year old. Congratulations on being brave enough to go through the surgery. I know how painful and difficult it is at times. It will be sooooooooooooooo worth it and once you are through the storm you will never have one single regret. So proud of you for trying to help other girls in the same situation!!! Get better soon. xoxo
Im so happy your doing well
Take care, you look great
Gosh!! Marlena, I can see you look so good already! Can’t wait to see your full body transformation! you have to do a before and after video! I love that you did this the right way!! you lost all the weight and now you just needed some help taking care of all that was left from you loosing so much weight!! You are truly an inspiratation. I started watching your tutorials and let me tell you it has helped me tremendously!!! I like how my make up looks and I’m currently working on my body! and just like you said I’m doing it for health reasons first!! I’m working out every day, and eating well…as a change of life! Making better choices along the way!! ??
I wish you all the best! Cant wait to see you all dolled up! Take Care and stay healthy! ;0)
?,Gigi
Hi Marlena! Im so glad you are doing well. Hang in there! Praying for you and a smooth recovery. I dont know if you are a christian or not (it sorta sounds like it alot of times) but God will make everything work out for you, no doubt!
Dear Marlena,
I wish you a good/smooth recovery. It’s looking good already!! But you always looking good on your tutorials!
Best wishes from the Netherlands
OMG! It’s so weird how u can get attached to people you don’t know!!! Marlena!! I’m so happy that everything went ok! We love u so much and are so proud of all the things you’ve accomplished on your own! It’s so INSPIRING!!
Lots of hugs!!! And thanks for taking so much time for us, get some rest and know that there are lots of people around the world that love you and that wish the best to you and your journey into becoming a hotter bombshell!
Do you have to lose all the weight beforehand before going through this procedure? What do you recommend purchasing prior to surgery like for example frozen peas to use to keep down swelling or special pillows or hand rail to help you get in and out of bed or satin sheets to help with sliding in and out of bed?
Glad to see you are doing well! Congrats on your amazing weight loss. I have lost around 35lbs and have 14 more to go. I know what a long road it is. Stay strong!
Vanessa
Hey Marlena,
You look so much more alive from your previous after surgery video. I’m soooo happy for you.
You are going to look and feel better everyday. You are such a lovely girl….talented and
beautiful inside and out too!!! I had a 6 hour surgery last year and was told by a nurse
that the longer you are under the longer it takes for the anethesia to leave your system.
So be patient about being tired …it’ll take time.
Love Ya
Jane

Hi marlena, I hope you are recovering well and have read Everyones messages of support. I just wanted to say thank you for being a great inspiration, I have been watching your clips and seen you really blossom over the past two years. You have always been beautiful but in the past few months you can really notice the slimming of your face, your confidence is just radiating, it’s such a great inspiration. I too have a really chubby head and it may sound shallow but your makeup really does look so so much more sexier with that chiselled face!! It’s really given me some great inspiration! Please please keep updating us, so we can continue to be inspired! You are awesome!! Bless.
Greetings from the Great White North Marlena!
I work out all the time my belly gets in the way. I am most terrified of the recovery, but I know my support system will take care of me (thank god for Mothers) Also, thank you for teaching me how to apply make-up! You seriously have the most gorgeous skin I have ever seen in my life, you have absolutely NO idea how jealous I am
Take care beautiful! and keep showing us that radiant & positive smile!!!!!
