Great idea, but I live in Canada too. A video of the class is a great idea, plus $75 seems just a little pricey. Don’t get me wrong, I love your videos, they are free on youtube so why can’t we just watch this class on-line Marlena?

Because I will be showing techniques aimed at the people who come- I can’t address everyone’s specific needs on a video as there’s way too many different “issues”- some people have smaller eyes, some have hooded lids, some have skin issues, etc… In “real life”, I can see a person’s features and address their needs.
And, to be completely honest, I can’t do videos at this pace forever for free- it takes many hours of preparation, taping, editing, etc… I do it now as I enjoy it and want to help others as much as possible
Here’s an idea…
For those of us who can’t make it maybe you could record some tutorials with some of the people who are able to attend. You could show some looks on different eye shapes and so forth.
This is exciting! I am excited and I’m not going to be there. But I’m excited for Marlena and all of those who’ll get to attend. I know you’ll have a blast.
That is a great idea. I think the price is fair,. Unfortunately I live in Puerto Rico so I definitely can’t make it. And maybe you could do one online, not transmit like for free, but an online showing with live chat and stuff, like online courses at Uni. I would def. pay for that as well. Good luck and for those of you that are going have fun!

I think this is a wonderful idea! You are like 10 hours away! But I bet it would cost too much time and profit to come a little closer,huh.
Julie, On the issue of price, you have to admit, you’re getting quite a bit of free content here.
You can’t expect Marlena to do absolutely everything for free.
This is her full-time job and she has to make a living.
Luckily ads and such pay some of the bills, but she needs to be able to do the paid events and consultations every now and then to bring in some extra cash. I’m assuming you are old enough to have a job, but think of it this way, what if your boss asked to keep coming into work, but she didn’t want to pay you anymore. I’m sure you wouldn’t like that.
The site/Youtube content that you see everyday will be free, but “real world” stuff comes at a price.
Even if we were to record the thing well, we’d have to invest in more equipment and spend many hours editing.
Also, Marlena and I will be spending well over $1,000 to fly out there and pay for food and lodging during that time. Sure, we will be doing some visiting of family and sight-seeing while we’re out there, but we would have to max this thing out just to break a profit.
I hope you see where we’re coming from.
Marlena! I am so blessed to have found your youtube vids! I live outside of sacramento… so i am def. considering the seminar! I am sooooo excited…. i have a makeup addiction that has been in remission for sometime…. and now that i have my cosmo licence i am ready to give all i have to learning all that i can about makeup and hair…… just need to make some money so that i can buy all the makeup that i want. I hope to meet you at the seminar…. I think that you have a wonderful talent and you are amazing at teaching step by step… i do have a few questions about different types of skin…. how to apply…. but ill talk to you later about that…. im new to the site and now i think ill look around a little bit!….

If I were as talented as you Marlena I would be be doing the same thing. You have excellent taste, develop a line of some sort and sling it in department stores and your girl here will make be the first to make you money! I live in Fresno…not toooo far from Vacaville. But I’ll probably be workin for the man that day! I’d give anything to see you though you are the cooolest. Canada and Marlena if you are willing to make it up here I would FOR SURE pay to be in your class! It’s just easy to get frustrated when people seem to think that Marlena is just here to do their bidding for free.
Don’t get me wrong, you’re far from the worst example, but you’d be surprised at the amount of people that do.
Aww…I wish I could go…more the less I wish …I could be able to learn your methods and wish you if ..you ever be able travel here to Latin America to teach peeps here cus there is not many Professional make up courses, that would be Great!!.
I am currently taking a course from a Mexican Professional artist and is very intensive course and she is well known here in Guatemala, she does a lot of movie, tv , HD TV, commercial like LG and other brands….lots of commercial for the biggest Mexican TV network…here is the site is in Spanish but just to give you an idea…http://www.esmas.com/. But if you ever interested….I can ask my teacher and u both can team up…sounds like a crazy idea …but be good to idea to built a good seminar to teach peeps here and share both knowledge….you both can charge for it and give it out in a hotel business center and all to all professional make up artist, cus from a make up perspective, you never stop learning

I remember when I first started to watch Marlena on YouTube. I didnt comment right away cause Im one of those who has to warm up to a person but from the start I knew she was something special! Never with a big EGO or playing up for the camera. It was evident that she was there to guide/help us and show her passion for makeup. I mean I have lots of makeup books but Im more of a visual type of person. I have learn so much from her -10 times over! I just wish she was around in my early twenties, I would have been a real SHOW-STOPPER lol. Back then you had to pay for makeup classes which ran in the thousands $$$$. I cant express enough how we are so lucky to have her and with such easy asset as to YT, Oh my! What she is actually doing is WORK and she should get paid for it!
Marlena, has a gift not only making people beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well. Thats why so many ppl can relate to her. Thank you Merlena for all you’ve done and all you continue to do. I hope you come out with a Make up line, hats, shirts, dvds, books I will gladly purchase. xoxox

I love watching the cosmetics tutorials on YouTube, but yours are by far the BEST- your looks are so classy and tasteful and you explain the steps so well. U’re a gem. I think u would be rich doing seminars all around the world! Haha! People are willing to pay more than a hundred bucks to attend Chanel’s, Lancome’s etc workshops so why not for u when u’re so AMAZING!! I would pay anything if you came down here! Seeing you in person and getting all the tips would be a dream come true! I used to think I’m such a make-up fanatic but seeing this website I feel proud to be one and am loving it!
