Lots of New Products in the Makeup Geek Store
We don’t usually do a full post like this for store updates, but May was such a busy month for us at the Makeup Geek Store, we had to let everyone know of all the fresh goodies.
Our goal has been to really boost our product lineup and focus on things that Marlena (and other Makeup Geek contributors) really enjoy and I think you will be happy with these new selections.
Make Up Designory Eyeshadows & Blushes
We love NYX’s color selection and their affordable prices, but if you want to step up your quality (dare I say to the level of MAC) without spending a whole lot, you really need to do yourself a favor and check out Make Up Designory’s selection of Eyeshadows and Blushes.
For those of you that depot your shadows and/or appreciate the MAC shadow pans that you get at Pro shops, you’ll feel right at home with the Make Up Designory shadow refills and blush refills. They are an easy and more-affordable solution when you want to keep multiple colors in a single palette (work great with palettes from MAC, Z-Palette, or MUD [see below])
Make Up Designory Palettes
While we have been selling Z-Palettes for a while, we also wanted to offer MUD’s palette lineup as well.
They have a few different sizes so you can choose the one that works best for you.
It is also worth mentioning that they seal very tightly so they travel well.
Eve Pearl Salmon Concealer
Marlena’s favorite concealer is finally in the Makeup Geek Store. I honestly don’t know why we waited so long to stock these.
Marlena features these Eve Pearl concealers in her videos all the time as they work really well under the eyes (bye bye dark circles!). The peach color hides the blueness under the eyes, while the gel like texture prevents any cakiness.
Coastal Scents Camo Quads
When it comes to cheaper concealers, Marlena really likes the Coastal Scents quads. And obviously, each quad gives you a few more colors to deal with for different situations.
Also check out the color corrector quad – it’s great for combating certain blemishes. This is an inexpensive alternative for the Eve Pearl concealers.
More Makeup Geek Brushes
In case you haven’t seen, we’ve added a handful of new Makeup Geek Brushes: the dual-ended Foundation & Concealer Brush, the Flat Foundation Brush, Pointed Crease Brush, Small Crease Brush, Flat Eye Brush, Dome Face Brush, and Marlena’s newest favorite, the Makeup Geek Crease Brush. When she first used it, I heard her call it “the best brush ever”. She plans on using it a lot in the future and had us make sure we had plenty in stock, so take that for whatever it’s worth
Sugarpill Eye Shadows & Pigments
When we asked the Makeup Geek community what up-and-coming cosmetic brands they would like to see, Sugarpill was one of the top recommendations. Our wonderful Jangsara also loves them and has featured them a number of times. The whole Sugarpill selection is so vivid and pigmented, they are amazing for a powerful look. Up until this week, we only had single shadows, but now we also have the Quads and Loose Shadows (pigments) as well!
Palladio Shadow, Eye, and Lip Pencils
While NYX has some great pencils, we wanted to broaden our selection with what Palladio had to offer. The NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils have been popular with our shoppers, but Marlena actually prefers the Palladio Shadow Pencils as they crease less. As for the eye liner and lip liner pencils, Palladio gives us some additional shades and they are actually cheaper than the NYX pencils. It’s nice to have options!
Make Up Designory & Palladio Bronzers
Marlena’s wanted us to find some new bronzers to stock (she wasn’t impressed by the NYX ones) and Palladio’s seem to deliver a quality bronzer for an affordable price and one of new favorite companies, Make Up Designory has excellent bronzer is you’re willing to pay a bit more.
We hope you like them!
Eyeko Liptastik Pencils
Eyeko was another brand that we picked up on via Jangsara (you may have read her recent review of these pencils).
While they might not be for everyone, the Eyeko Liptastik are a wonderful way to give your lips some extra power.
Duo Adhesive
This highly-requested product is finally stocked in the MUG store (I’m not sure why we took so long).
Of course, this adhesive goes perfectly well with our selection of Ardell lashes. The Duo Adhesive is Marlena’s favorite and you can’t beat the price either.
More New Stuff
The products listed above are actually just the highlights! We actually have a handful of other new products in the Makeup Geek Store from Eve Pearl, Make Up Designory, Palladio, Coastal Scents, and some look sets.
I’m delighted about the MUD products – ordered 5 last week to try them out and they really are comparable to MAC! I ordered another 5 the day after the first batch arrived! A new make-up love!
Glad you enjoyed them! Marlena was very happy when she found them — especially since they offer the refills for palettes. Thanks for your support!
I’m really excited to see all the new products in the MUG Store, but a little disappointed as well.
I just received my package from the MUG Store, my very first purchase and I am very happy especially the MUG Deluxe Foundation Brush. The reason I am a little disappointed is because I live in South America, so the shipping charges are a bit steep and it would have been nicer to consolidate all my purchases.
i’ve ordered MAC pigment samples from MUG, and I’ll be saving up for that Eve Pearl concealer. Curse you undereye circles!
I hear you! My Italian genes gave me the dark circles also
Im just new to MUG and i am totally addicted to your website, i ordered pigment samples, lipgloss, lipstick all from NYX range and 3 MUG brushes and i love them all so happy will definately be ordering more very soon
That’s good to hear! Thank you Karen
I would love to make up a palette of neutral colours using MUD but have no idea where to start… any suggestions anyone????
You could try the ones from this look: http://www.makeupgeek.com/tutorials/the-perfect-smoky-eye-for-work/
Did you mean you wanted to design a palette with a neutral color spectrum using MUD. Well I would start by choosing flesh toned colors and then move up the line to pinky and pale gold tones and finally choosing a few dark grays and bronzes of matte and satin finishes to give the palette complexity and make it more exciting to pull out for everyday wear. It’s hard to choose, but that gives you a good baseline of where you should start while building your ultimate neutral palette.
Would you say that the new MUG Crease Brush is comparable to the MAC 217 or NYX Crease Brush that Marlena recommended in her Makeup 101 video/post?
I would definitely agree. This brush is great and I feel that it does the MAC 217 justice!
Thanks for replying so quickly, Alex! I was going to pull the trigger on some NYX brushes from a different website, but I might go with the MUG one now.
I am new to the makeup scene and am interested in 2 (at most 3) multipurpose eyeshadow brushes. I have asian eyes with a small crease (double lid) and I have heard that small brushes (e.g. pencil brushes) are suitable. I was thinking of getting the MUG crease brush and MUG small crease brush. Or, maybe I just need the MUG dual ended eyeshadow brush. I’m interested in what you think.
Thanks for your time!
Just wondering if there is any difference between the Eve Pearl concealers in the compact (that are now sold in the MUG store) and the ones in the clear square jars… I have the latter (in Light), but I feel like it looks a lot darker than I would have expected, and the compact one looks a bit lighter (at least in the MUG store photos)… Just curious if there’s any difference in colour and/or texture between these two Eve Pearl products!
I’m pretty sure they are the same — I guess I never caught on to the packaging change. I keep forgetting to ask Marlena when I see her and/or I could contact our Eve Pearl rep.
But I’m guessing they wouldn’t change their formula…
I just tried the new one today (as the one I use all the time is in the square jar) and they’re exactly the same
I’m excited to try MUD products but please do a tutorial using those products because I want to see how it goes on before I buy some since you mentioned here that it’s comparable to MAC.Thank you very much for all the help Marlena…God bless!
Actually, Marlena’s used them in one already

Hello Nick! By any chance, have you consider to sell Urban Decay makeup in MUG Store? I´m from Venezuela, where there is no UD or many of the wonderful makeup brands you have over there. I have to buy on Ebay (fingercross) but I really want to have a reliable store in order to buy more often. Thank you!
We would love to. We’re trying to slowly build up our reputation to start carrying bigger brands — hopefully someday!
I really enjoy it!
thank you thank you thank you soooo much for carrying the Eve Pearl concealers! Can’t get them in Hawaii and ordering direct from Eve Pearl costs an arm and a leg just for shipping. Just gotta save up now for my next MUG store haul. : )
