About
As women, we are constantly surrounded by images of dangerously thin models, actresses, and VIP’s. The struggle of having good self-esteem is not just a problem for teens, but for all women in general.
I have been the “fat” girl my whole life- I’m not trying to have a pity party, it’s just a fact. My family was always loving and supportive, and NEVER made comments about my weight- it made me survive those tormented years I like to call “childhood”. Weight will always be a struggle for me, but the one thing I have to make me feel pretty, is my makeup.
Makeup isn’t just paint for the face, something to cover blemishes, or even something fun to do in my spare time- it is truly my power boost for self-esteem. I may not be thin like the gorgeous models on the front of magazines, I may not be funny like the comedians on TV, and I may not even be smart like the business woman of modern day America. But…. when I wake up in the morning and put on my makeup, I feel PRETTY. I’m not just the fat girl anymore- I am the girl is who is confident, likes who she is, and has more self-esteem than ever before.
So, if anyone gives you a hard time about wearing makeup or spending money on it, tell them to shove it, because you are worth every bit of it if it makes you feel good about yourself and makes you happy.
